  • Indian continues to bring the battle to Milwaukee with a pair of new baggers: the 2017 Chieftain Elite and Chieftain Limited - baggers being such a big deal they’ve spawned their own magazines and websites, and why not? They’re a great balance of form and function, combining the ability to cruise the dirty boulevard in style, then hightail it out of town without having to leave all one’s worldly goods behind. We could call them “American Sport Tourers,” really.
    2016 Indian Chieftain Dark Horse First Ride Review
    What’s new with these two Indians isn’t a lot functionally, but in a world where form is just as important, these two mark a significant departure. If you can’t put your finger on exactly why at first glance, here it is: These are the first modern-era full-sized Indians to do away with the company’s signature valanced front fender.

    Polaris has gone above and beyond. Great ques from HD but they are truly branding themselves in the game. Love it. Pricey but still love it.

    Wow. That was a REALLLLLY informative review. I got a lot out of it. "They both get a 19" front wheel, with a cool.....*pause* ....front wheel on it." What??!!
    Or how about: "......they're kinda proud of their nice, 4 piston callipers....and uuuuummmm.......*tsk* ...other stuff...."
    Yeah. Riveting stuff right there.

    A lot of people are buying Indian motorcycles, I know several people who have converted to Indian from harley davidson so what does that tell you? I have been told you get more bang for the buck and the oil changes are easy and there is no chain primary drive to fuss with which makes the entire bike smoother shifting and less maintenance. Also its an AMERICAN bike.

    If it's got a TS111 in it, it better have skirted fenders and a war bonnet. I'm not down with Indian taking design cues from Victory. Be who you are.

      Oh, no! My kickstand broke. What shall I do? Uh, get a new one. lol. Are you suggesting that a biker buy the 2017 HD w/ a Milwaukee 8 engine and then fork over a shit load of $$ just to beat another bagger (Indian Chieftain) in a drag race? What does that prove? Nothing at all. If you want to drag race, go buy yourself a crotch rocket. Maybe, something like the VMax or Diavel. Btw, do you own the aforementioned Harley Davidson?

    • @googleuser2082
      @googleuser2082 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Okie Rider people get to precious about Harley. Same old arguments. Harley sells more bikes bla bla bla. If you go from riding any Harley to any Indian the difference in quality is blatantly obvious. Don't get me wrong, I do like Harley and owned one for a while but there's just no comparison to Indian. Plus HD are so heavily over priced.

      You're smoking crack if you're thinking a M8 is going to stomp a Thunderstroke. And... from what I'm seeing on HD forums... the things basically can't sling enough oil and will wind up grenading anyway.

    They are giving it all in Europe. I still think that they will last like another year or so...You can't compete by copying what your rival company is doing.

    powerstroke? Indian is using navistar diesels on the Elites and limited?? I guess I gota trade in my 2014

  • @benjaminmeyers38
    @benjaminmeyers38 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm Generation X. If you think the bikes are to pricey and still would like to have one you will find a way to get one. It's all about sacrifice. If you want something you need to figure out a way to get it. I see guys and women but mostly men paying 60 to 80 thousand dollars on a pickup truck. So this argument about motorcycles being to expensive is just to me not important.

    I just can't get use to those bags. Very bland. Victory's Cross bikes had gorgeous lines and flowed nicely with the bags. Best looking touring bike in my opinion.

      Are you being serious, or just splitting hairs? Indian's own website has MSRP at $31,499. I would be incredibly surprised if I came in with 300 Franklins in my hand and they refused a sale.

    • @02v92tcd
      @02v92tcd 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dead serious. Just saw two customers fighting over the only Elite the dealer was getting on the showroom floor. $33,500 was the winning number and the guy drove 6 hours to buy it.

    • @Kcducttaper1
      @Kcducttaper1 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's nuts. Still, I'd consider that a rare case probably with some dirty play from the dealer rather than a good indication of how much the average bike sells for.

    • @Kcducttaper1
      @Kcducttaper1 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd be in line for that. I test rode a Springfield last summer and it was lovely. Not $22,000 lovely, but still lovely.
