    Did you find that the Teas test helped you during Nursing school or did you ask yourself, “what was the point?”

    • @scrubssophia6356
      @scrubssophia6356  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s a good question! I would say the science section was helpful. The science section tests you over basic anatomy/biology concepts that you will build on later in nursing school. Therefore, learning the foundational science concepts for the test did help me in my challenging nursing courses later!

    Hi! First off, this video was super helpful and informative. I am taking the TEAS next month and I just have a few questions. For the science section (which I'm mostly worried about), which sources/videos did you specifically use to study and which systems were mostly emphasized? Also, I don't know if you took the test online, but if so, how was your experience overall and what did you learn? Thank you!

      I am so glad that you found the video helpful! For the science section, I used two main youtube channels to supplement my studying. One youtuber that I found especially helpful for studying anything about cells (mitosis/meiosis, transciption/translation, etc.) was Bozeman Science! His videos are super entertaining and helps you to understand some difficult scientific processes with animations. He also has videos over every anatomy body system. Another youtube channel I used was Khan Academy. I found that their videos were especially helpful for learning material regarding the cardiac system (blood flow through the heart, blood vessels, etc.). I am actually not sure if there was one system that was emphasized the most. I did take the test online. I found that it was not as difficult as I thought it would be. I am someone who has not taken many tests online, and I still found it to be fine. Like I said in the video, maybe just practice using an online calculator when studying or doing practice tests/questions online to get used to the format. Hope this helps and good luck! :)

    • @scrubssophia6356
      @scrubssophia6356  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That would depend on the nursing school you are applying to. For my school, we could take it as many times as we wanted. However, the school would only use the most recent score for our application. So definitely check with the school you are applying to and see what their policy is 😊

    • @scrubssophia6356
      @scrubssophia6356  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s multiple choice. You get a grade for each section. The grades from each section are then used to give your average grade.

    Can you give any advice about math? Was there rate/distance problems? What's your best advice to do well for math?
    Thanks in advance. I am happy for you

    • @scrubssophia6356
      @scrubssophia6356  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much! I would say doing practice questions and timing yourself is the key to doing well on the math section. The math concepts are not too hard. Try to be familiar with basic math skills. I would say many of the math concepts are simple such as area, volume, percentages, fractions, basic algebra equations, etc. If you are not familiar with these concepts, you can always watch TH-cam videos over them. Khan academy has some great videos over math. I do not remember if I received any rate/distance questions. However, maybe check out some study guides such as the Mometrix book to see if they include those type of questions. Hope this helps 😊

    • @scrubssophia6356
      @scrubssophia6356  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Angela, thank you for your comment. I spent about 1 month in total studying for the exam. However, I think it is completely possible to spend less time studying for this exam if you are running short on time. I completely understand your concern about the reading section being a slow reader myself. The best advice I can give you is keep doing practice passages and timing yourself. The more practice passages/questions you do, the faster you will get at reading. In addition, the more practice you do, the better you will be able to find a good pace to read at. On the exam, try to remain calm and do the best at understanding the passage. The calmer you are, the better you will be able to think and read. I wish you the best of luck 😊
