Agreed. I’m not a developer but I feel like this could be done very easily. Games like operation flashpoint allow you to move in formations. That’s all they would have to do. Line formation and move close to walls. Easily programmable. Edit: shit rainbow six Vegas allowed you to do that. You could click on a door and order them to stack up and then clear.
For the most part I like them, they have got me out of a few tight spots. They do, on occasion, do some inexplicable things, like spawning inside locked rooms that I can't enter, even with a corpse!
The only thing that is keeping me off to play/buy this game are the enemies and the storyline. Don't know why Ubisoft never continued the plot from Wildlands or at least moved the Ghosts to another country.
They really DO love throwing their grenades... sometimes even straight at you lol There is definitely an improvement as you say, but to nit-pick I say this: too 'trigger happy' with grenades ; Fixit deploys his drone too quickly when a firefight ensues ; you can't control when Fury does a scan, which can be frustrating sometimes (although this is subjective for some players, I'm sure) ; stealth is still an issue, but you've summed it up nicely on your video. I wish these options would be integrated for teammates in the game: stack-up and breach (with a proper breacher of course, not C4!); setting different formations, like close and far ones for CQB and recon respectively ; rappelling (ok, not a lot of places you can do it, but how about the dam or restricted area 01 high walls?) ; the ability to give commands to each team members, and not just the whole team. The AI Teammates kinda works, but they still do some immersion breaking stuff. Like walking in front of the enemy (That's an old one), throwing grenades at me and doing random stuff. Seriously, we need a feature to command every teammates individually. We need more commands as well but that might be asking for too much, hope they implement it in the next game.
Their sync shots can still shoot through walls from a crazy distance away (like far enough away that even with a tac50 and 5x scope and no wall in the way it would be an iffy shot) if you're commanding the sync shot via drone (it seems to decide the viability of a shot from where your point of view is so using the drone extends range).
I actually don't mind this really because it's up to you when you decide to use it, but it is a bit funny since one of the patch notes on the last update says they stopped them from being able to do it anymore.
I hadn't played for a few months, so had a game last night and noticed a big change in AI's, attacking convoys and vehicles are blowing up and it's all over in seconds.
Unless there actually was an update to the teammate AI, with the TR crossover flopsauce, the AI will STILL revive you, multiple times right in-front of Wolves without taking them down. Short answer: hell no. They’re not fixed and the devs who claimed they fixed it should be fired.
Thanks Custer, I enjoyed this. I find that when I give orders to the AI team every couple of minutes, they don't randomly do their own thing. I can't quite remember where I heard this, but someone said when you give a 'hold' or 'go to' order and then you move beyond a certain distance (I think 100 or 150 m) from them, they will then ignore that order and move to your location or close.
Agree. When you are being stealthy. I just tell them to hold a position and use the sync shot for enemies on there side, when shit hits the fan they are cleared hot and yes they kill em all lol. They do hold position against buildings as long as the area isn't touching against the wall/building, most the time

My experience with AIs (always use them) is that "they are not suitable for stealth" and avoid have them near the enemy base in case the mision requires full stealth. Reason= if and enemy suspects something weird the AIS will solve the situation with a damn frag grenade (happens always). Also in steath, they still dont follow orders to stay in one place, they due the opposite. So AIS only work for sync shots and just to heal you when you are down.
I find the grenade throwing and other abilities quite inconvenient. There isn’t a button prompt for them to do it, they just kinda do it on their own. Especially when I try to intercept a car they just throw grenades and bust the car, or waste a combat drone on the driver and 1 passenger for some reason. Sometimes when I’m driving past an enemy base Fury just likes to scan it even though I’m not going to attack that base. Really wish there was a button to activate it and not just a permanently on and permanently off selection.
I have a noob question. How do you have green laser dot? I think i tried all of them but i still have only reds. Is this something you buy with real moneyz or it is in the game? Thx and great videos mate. Watching you motivated me too to play without radar and anything else really, game changer.
I honestly don't think the AI is fixed at all, I use them sometimes for a couple pot shots from afar and then leave them hidden until I have cleared the base because they'll screw up 90% of the times, or when you want to really storm a Base in 20 seconds, with a vehicle. They still spam grenades like there's no tomorrow, they heal you in the middle of fights, they won't stay put unless you leave them far back away from the action spots, and on and on. Honestly the AI it's still disappointing even though I tried to customize their loadout many times, no way....
I just want ARMA 3 game company take over Ubisoft that would be fine by me 🤣 we would have way better AI and better gun handling all types of cool mechanics yeah that would be epic 🔥 !
Mate, the game still has 18 more months of content planned, the game will get tons better mark my words, and this is unlikely, but if the game does really well in those 18 months. They could do more!
The AI literally only "gets caught" *when you command them to follow you, in front of the enemy.* Not only is this not tactical to do but *the game warns you* before you do it. The AI is fine, the issue is people poorly use and kit them. I have not ever had an issue with the AI, other than them making runs too easy.
I find the best way to use your ai is with your drone and binos and act as recon. They are to clunky when following but they are actually pretty good when you maneuver them as their own team, though they can get themselves compromised easy with the sync shot so make sure they have line of sight of targets before making the order to prevent them getting exposed
Have they fixed the AI teammates? No but they have improved them. Just don't expect a stealth mission to remain stealthy because one of them is likely to toss a hand grenade into the mix when you least least expect it. There is also a tendency for one of them to skip off merrily into the distance just when you need their firepower leaving you a man or woman short. Equip them with good sniper rifles as main weapons and taking out compounds, convoys or patrols from ground vehicles or choppers is dead easy. For my part I spent the morning playing Wildlands. So much more fun, the movement mechanics are better, my character doesn't act like he's pissed and bouncing off the scenery, doesn't get stuck in cover and doesn't slide uncontrollably down a minor incline. The AI has improved definitely but still can't even match the AI from the previous game.
@@CusterPlays Agreed, they are far better firing from vehicles in Breakpoint. The AI in Wildlands seem to shoot forever before doing any visible damage. I've taken to drive by shootings in BP just for the fun of it. Three AI teammates armed with TAC50 Wolves and an armoured resistance car is almost indestructible. 🤣👍
They should be how it used to be with these type of games - they individually go where you place and absolutely don’t move unless you move them. If ubi had of done what the Conflict series games from original Xbox days this game would be a magical classic
@@CusterPlays would it be possible to make a realistic video, I mean which considers, weight, how many weapons you can carry, taking into consideration weight of ammo, down to size of backpack if you wish to parachute you should need a bigger bag for example. I usually try and play this way, being female and of not a big body frame, I limit to a side arm and 1 rifle such as the 416 scout or the MK14 Assult. Just an idea.

I saw your mistake right at the start of the video, every single time you try to micromanage them, they WILL get spot, but that's because they'll follow your command to the letter. I thought something wasn't right when you said that they get spotted a lot, and I figured that you most definitely was using the regroup command all the time, sure enough that was the first thing you did, and I said: Yep, I knew it lol Try not to micromanage and they sure won't get spotted, they'll be following anyway, I clear camps, enter buildings and they never get spotted They're better than the brain dead ones from Wildlands, that's for sure, all you have to do is leave them alone

I like your video mate! I played future soldier the game was awesome and the team for an Ai was really good! I played wildlands and the Team didn't have good instincts in a battle scenario! But I did prefer the breakpoint team as I did like cleared hot command! Without a glitch or hiccup the team unleashed fury upon the enemy! But if I could just mention that if anyone remembers the old SOCOM US Navy seals on the PS2.....and of course played it you would then know that that had a 4 team squad just like Ghost recon.....but it was broken up into Able and bravo And the list of commands was alot ........breaching commands! Hold specific commands! Such as overwatch and fire at will Or hold fire! They could even deploy grenades if asked......great Ai unit that never failed! Maybe ghost recon or Ubisoft can look back on the original SOCOM US Navy seals and adopt these commands and gameplay to the new ghosts as everyone I think wants a productive and never fail team of professionals operators When there trying enjoy a campaign game without The glitches or more immersive characters who do there job without the downfall of bugs and glitches! Anyway I would like them to fix wildlands and at least give them the same command wheel and cleared hot command like in breakpoint! I don't think it's alot to ask Ubisoft for considering there financial income from us gamers is very lucrative! At least bring wildlands up to par!
This is one mechanic that ruined this game for me. Is how the AI can walk right infront of the enemy and the enemy will be like "What was that? Nevermind I'm hearing stuff."

Knowing that Ubisoft treats its Employees so poorly, I can tell that the games they release are just plain horseshit because the Executives are answering to the Shareholders.
In my opinion, a good idea would be to add more teammate abilities. Like for example, have a medical drone that can heal allies or a deployable shield to use during combat. Then after adding some, allow us to customize which abilities we want them to use. Finally, give us the ability to tell them to use that ability instead of waiting for them to use it.

@@CusterPlays a lot of that is dependent upon the character models and movement. Breakpoints guys run weird and the pants are terribly done. Weapons area at too small aswell. I feel like I'm always holding a toy rifle.

I would say that as far as mounted weapon goes they are better than WL. All rest is a direct downgrade

No, they work well ish, apart from spotting targets through mountains, sniping targets across base's when it is impossible to see the enemy.

And the list of commands was alot ........breaching commands! Hold specific commands! Such as overwatch and fire at will
Or hold fire! They could even deploy grenades if asked......great Ai unit that never failed! Maybe ghost recon or Ubisoft can look back on the original SOCOM US Navy seals and adopt these commands and gameplay to the new ghosts as everyone I think wants a productive and never fail team of professionals operators

Anyway I would like them to fix wildlands and at least give them the same command wheel and cleared hot command like in breakpoint! I don't think it's alot to ask Ubisoft for considering there financial income from us gamers is very lucrative! At least bring wildlands up to par!
This is one mechanic that ruined this game for me. Is how the AI can walk right infront of the enemy and the enemy will be like "What was that? Nevermind I'm hearing stuff."
I think the AI teammates are alright but they do ruin immersiveness sometimes while being stealthy but I prefer using teammates in wildlands

Love the gameplay . I don’t know about you but my ai teammate follow your commandments but don’t shoot or what it looks like see them at all I don’t know but if it happens to you do you know how to fix it ?

@@CusterPlays i tried the trial and im liking it so far, game does feel less optimised then wildlands and the drones are super annoying, ik u can reduce their presence but it would be better if you could completely turn them off

In my opinion, a good idea would be to add more teammate abilities. Like for example, have a medical drone that can heal allies or a deployable shield to use during combat. Then after adding some, allow us to customize which abilities we want them to use. Finally, give us the ability to tell them to use that ability instead of waiting for them to use it.
Would be cool, but I would still prefer to see them fixed in other ways

@@CusterPlays a lot of that is dependent upon the character models and movement. Breakpoints guys run weird and the pants are terribly done. Weapons area at too small aswell. I feel like I'm always holding a toy rifle.
