I'm a huge fan of GG Swing Tips, I think I've watched every TH-cam video he has multiple times, but this video - it finally clicked how the legs "feel" during pivot transition. The plate under the right foot was the visual I needed to connect the dots. Love GG and this video is a great starting point to understand this pivot and rotation move. Keep up the great work.

Michael Mitchell dude, same for me. He needs include that plate drill in more of his videos. It explains the leg work so well. As soon as I tried it, it was like everything else made sense all of a sudden. It really teaches you how to grip the ground.

No one guy teaching golf has all the answers. GG teaches what he knows. Some guys take to it some don't. There are many ways to get it done. I know guys who have terrible golf swings but have single-digit handicaps. I use a more rotational golf swing and it works for me. I don't totally swing like this. I have more of a blend of body and arms but I know my swing and what works.
For example, no matter what I do, I can't get the sit down move. So I don't use it. I make sure I stay centered and rotate through the shot. I use a lot of his concepts but not all.
I concentrate on posture, grip, and alignment. Make a solid backswing, when I transition I keep my back to the target a split second longer. This thought works for me. I never hear GG talk about that. It's a feeling. I also see on the video I do most of what he says just with one simple thought. The rest shows up on its own.
Too many people looking for some magic bullet that no one guy has and never will.

What works and why in cooperation with your personal "mechanics of instinct". You are right there is not one swing for everyone but there is one and only one unique swing for each individual. It is the swing your instinctive brain, whose main job is keeping you safe, will cooperate with. Only when this part of your brain feels safe does it switch intentions to power and finesse. This is the so called "zone".

...then after taking it to the range and spending an hour watching it and applying it step by step to my swing...
Second thought: George Gankas might just be the savant genius golf prodigy teacher of the century.
Holy moly! Crisp iron shots, like I’ve never experienced before (golfing for 20 years). For the first time ever, I can actually feel I’m engaging my legs in the swing. The sliding pad on the floor is genius. And I’m still working on 3/4 shots and very easy full shots. All I can say is that when I get the timing nailed down for full power-full shots I can tell they’ll be crazy good.

Sure they can. I'm 55 and swing like this. There are two retired NHL players at my club. Both in their late sixties and early seventies and they can pound the ball, still. They work no their games and stay in decent shape. The problem with most guys my age is that they do not stay in shape. Three-fourths of the guys my age that I know have done nothing since there early 20's but eat crappy food, drink too much beer and lie on the couch. Then they show up at the golf course on Saturday and still think they can play after spending the week doing the above. I understand back backs or injury's as you age. I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about the self-induced physical issues that half the population could avoid if they had any kind of motivation.
There is also a guy in his 80's who still spends 10 hours a week on the range, working, still on his game. I admire that guy. He doesn't hit the ball super far but he can still drive it 220 or 230 and has a good swing.
Also, most guys my age never work on their games. Again, they show up at the course, pound 15 drivers with no warm-up and get in their cart and go to the first tee. Then they bitch the whole round, eat a hot dog at the turn, chase the beer cart around half the day and wonder why they suck.
It really isn't as complicated as they make it sound. They are teaching nerds. Take the club to the top. Rotate through the shot. Most of the things they describe happen naturally. They are just breaking it down. I don't think about any of this during a swing or round of golf.

Jacob R unless you started at a very young age. There’s a statistical probability chart that indicates that you have about a 10% chance of becoming a scratch golfer if you started to play before age 5. Each year the probability of becoming scratch drops precipitously to that point where if you started playing as I did at age 35, your odds of becoming scratch are .00001%. Crazy!

Don't worry Vincent. You need to watch at least 150 of GG videos to get it. He is a genius golf instructor who tells his students to disregard where the ball is going!. But seriously I see a lot of what he is teaching in the young tour players, not as exaggerated as he demonstrates the moves. Look at Cameron Champs for example. Good luck and find yourself a good chiropractor if you are going to try this.
