I still think that 1 or 2 true combos that only work on white health should be very dexterity sensitive. I say only in white health because like this it will not immediately break the game like with lin fei. But that envolves analyzing every weapon for every dex value like you said. Or maybe just make sigs more dex dependant.
According to somebody, it takes about 10,000 hours of doing something to master it. If that’s the case, I wonder how far Egg is from mastering the production of video essays. They’re so good.
@@caligulas430 It realistically only takes 20 hours of doing something consistently to begin attaining skill that goes beyond what one can learn initially or through inconsistent deliberate effort. 1 hour of practice each day will amount to 20 days without any rest days, 2 hours to 10 days - any more hours than 2 is just straining IMO - so it requires that one practices and also be wary of their performance for longer than a week. Expert level performance is attained through correction of mistakes and pushing the limitations of either the human body and mind, even if pushing so hard that mistakes become inevitable - the goal shall be that in practicing by exceeding limitations that mistakes are lowered rather than avoided. All this said, it is best to keep in mind that change in the brain (neuroplasticity) happens around 21 days for any skill (that is practiced) to stop feeling as something that one has to apply thoughtful effort to do, that it is to say, the performing of the skill becomes habitual. All of this information is thanks to Dr. Anders Ericsson's research on the subject.

I don't think it's the fact that dexterity is a hard stat to balance around I just think it'd be VERY time consuming having to rebalance every single legend and weapons attacks to match the dexterity without any weird frame data happening If someone did it for them and showed them their new "stat" I'm sure they'd implement it. It's not that they don't know the issue it's just time consuming for an already small team
it's worth keeping dexterity. alt fix: for BH2 they could add an extra 0.5 stat per character, or some other specific buff to hone their archetypes. eg +0.5 dex = legend gets one specific frame advantage on a single move for each weapon; it's consistent within the legend, and doesn't break the stats/attributes across the board. eg. strength could give additional knockback force > a threshold, or a fractional increase of a whole attribute point. eg. plz give nai +0.5spd, she hurtin. also something case by case like this gives more opportunities to tweak balance at the higher levels to help underperforming legends. ie, since it's legend specific it can address individual strengths/weaknesses without requiring a whole meta shifting change.
I'm a queen nai main and 1 stat makes A LOT of difference. If i go 4 speed nai, spear feels awesome; easier to use, more consistent, and she's just as fast as every other character(except fast bois like lucien) but her katars suck ass with 4 dex. On the other hand, if i go 5 dex nai, her katars become awesome but her weight and spear are thrashed on the process. I could go base with 3 speed 4 dex, but then both spear/katar and her speed overall turn instantly into "meh". At least on nai, the difference 1 stat makes is extremely visible.

But hey, at least when you're grounded -in comparison to when on air where speed stat seems to be more "visible" the difference between 4 speed nai and some other 4-6 speed legend(to me) is almost negligible, specially when dashing a lot, a thing i use a lot for spear and katars
Let’s just make it so Dex affects the timespan you can move after a hit. Basically, lower dex = more recovery frames Higher dex = more recovery frames. Just make it to where certain points of dex increase it by a noticeable but not too noticeable speed. 3 dex and below is 1/60th of a second slower. 4 - 6 dex is normal speed. 7 - 9 dex makes it 1/60th of a second faster. 10 dex could be 1/58th of a second faster.
Ada player here. She's bad and underplayed because (imo): - Low defense. - Sigs are suprisingly underwhelming sometimes. - Weapon combination doesn't match the stats (Blasters/Spear wants to play more neutral but she's made of paper). - A lot of better options aka: Wanna play Spear? Use Brynn, Gnash, Wu Shang, Hattori, etc. Wanna play Blasters? Pick Diana, Barraza, Reno, etc.
Personal opinion i go strength defense speed dex on most important to least important because why do you need defense if you have high enough speed to dodge more attacks and the best defense is a unbeatable offense putting strength above it defense is above speed because speed maters a great deal but at the end of the day a speed stat point has less effective range then strength and defense. Dex is ranked lowest because some times it has literally no effect running dex stance. And to decide whether or not to use it you have to really look into the legend and there weopens to determine how us full it is
I think it's bad that the amount of true combos a weapon has is defined by the character so I think dex should only have an impact on missed attacks but therefore make a bigger difference

I sometimes see a comment on Reddit saying something like (on a given weapon and dex) makes Nlight -> Ndair to be true. I'm not good enough at the game to see how true it is in my head. Could someone show me? Playing casually (i.e. not spending an evening in training mode), I sometimes can't tell whether something was true or not. Did I flub the timing? Did my opponent flub the dodge? I don't know Could this possibly a topic for a video?
Best way to do it is hop on training mode, time consuming but it's the only way, I'm pretty sure the game also tells you if there's dodge frames if you attempt a combo
plus, if you put dodge frames on in training mode you can test these yourself, even frame by frame if youd want to, to notice dodge frames and how true combos are affected by dex
i really thibk they should remove dexterity, as you said being able to change a value and gaing true combos, is a dangerous concept. maybe they should rework it so it reduce the charge time necesart to max dmg of heavys or that only affects for a bit of a greater effect the on miss recocery so you can have more spammy characters that dont break the DmG sistem
they should remove strength because being able to kill earlier is a dangerous concept. stfu dex isnt a dangerous concept because it has potential to create true combos on like 5 chars.

I love how each stat is so strong in its own way. Dexterity is very underrated because each stat has its own special property.

Affects gauntlets, bow, katars, hammer, spear, scythe at high dex, lance to a small degree and I think it also affects axe to a small degree.
