    While you are swapping components, consider ditching your current router. Aside from being pretty slow it has multiple issues and the most relevant for van lifers is that it does not support stable wifi calling for your phones. Cheap TP-Link routers make a good replacement and run on 12V DC though I'd recommend using a regulator.

      I’ve heard of this. Thus far we haven’t run into any big problem, but I can think of some times that we’ve noticed the less stable aspect. Thanks for the insight. Have a suggestion for a better one that won’t break the bank?

    Glad you are up and running again. Good job sir. The new cable and connectors are going to make the install bulletproof. The bonus with the clear lexan is that you’ll be able to see if any moisture gets in. Good idea.

    Some great troubleshooting there. Love it when a plan comes together. Careful if you use it while driving. I have heard of others(rules may have changed) of being banned from the network for in motion use. Something about fcc regulation on the dish

      Yeah, I believe it’s up to 10mph that it can be used in motion. It’s too bad that we did the swap so late, missed the better early days. Ohhh well. Thanks for watching!!🙌🏻

      @@SlowRoamers It occurs to me now that the Flat-Mount also allows you to have the dishy in place ALL the time versus having to store it, take it out and mount it every time you stop and park. That's a pretty significant savings on storage, time and hassle.

    I’m happy for you that your “dishy” is working well. I didn’t understand the technical language of that video, but I did understand the cursing language! “Holy smokes,” and “Holy heck,”??!! Aren’t those about the most severe curse words a Canadian can utter?? You must have been really impressed by your new download speed! 😄

    The front fog lights I hate, they need to be bigger as the van looks bad ass but the small lights are fine for the back and sides but not in the front.

    Nice! I would be happy to hear about long term comments on your setup. Did you have any condensation build up issues now after 2 months? Can you see water there?

    • @SlowRoamers
      @SlowRoamers  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It’s been pretty solid aside from the Ethernet cable that I accidentally cut may need to be replaced. Zero condensation, however we’ve been in pretty dry climates.

    • @SlowRoamers
      @SlowRoamers  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I haven’t actually tested that yet, but, we’re finding that what we’re pulling down in solar with the winter sun is more than enough to counter the draw off the battery.
