I’m only coming up to 5 months sober. But so far, the best thing that works for me if I ever think I want to drink, is “fast forwarding” to tomorrow morning for 30 seconds. It’s my non-negotiable if I have a wobbly moment. After that, if I still want to drink, I can think about it. But hopefully won’t ever. Why would I even risk swimming back out to sea once again when it could be that time I might not make it back to shore or back without damage like it was close to that so many times before
