That red barn base is awesome. My crew has one. You can easily fit a canopy tent in one side and 2 small tents on the other. We have so much storage and space. We blocked off the two lower sides with more gates to protect our tent storage. We even built an outer airlock with an external watchtower. To get to our loot someone would have to bust down at least 2 gates. No-one has tried yet. Hopefully we'll keep it till the server wipe ;)
We have a base with 9 metal gates to get the loot, yeah we that dumb, nothing helps vs hackers tho, they aimbot us inside and 45 min later we came back and all was deleted lol, we never got legit raided only hackers fcked us few times but we rebuild, worst part is, they get in and relize they cant even take anything better than what they have so loot is always there but base deleted, we legit started thinking devs do it due to lag and crashes we cause to the server lol
@@Nitno sure is, unless hackers show up haha, the thing we do is we use tents inside, so hackers are not that interested when using ESP to locate massive stash of wood crates or barells from half the map away( seems to work so far ) also we use bait gaps, we build 2 walls in front, first without barbed wire on top so they always want to jump that one but second gate has wire down and up, but gap between is just so you fall down and cant walk over and the bleeding starts hihi, in case you want to see it i can show it to you.

The three floor barn in nagornoe was my first base thanks to you! Its off most player's path so for now our base is pretty hidden, we divided our base in "rooms" with their own code locks just for us to not have a sneak peak lol, this spot is awesome!
The very first comment you did I think Is the best one ! Even if you have 10 walls with codelocks and whatever your base IS gonna get raided so it's best to keep your best loot in stashes !
I just moved my base this weekend. It went as bad as it could except I didn’t die. Got lost driving at night. Got to my new place and I forgot to pack my pliers. Finally got it done though 😅 I moved into the three level barn. Did almost exactly what you did. Watchtower one side and gate other side. Added some walls to block gaps. So far so good! ❤
Best place to make a base in my opinion is anywhere that gives you more ways out than in. If you can potentially hop over your own walls and flank an attacker then great. It also helps if you know you aren’t winning the fight. For storage of my most valuable gear that I don’t think I could take with me in a pinch I keep them in fireplaces and other similar places. If I’m getting raided then I can light them if I don’t think I can defend the base
Agreed I always want to have an exit strategy if my base is raided, which is why more often than naught I’ll build in the woods or near and around lake areas, plus the atmosphere of having a gunfight in the woods is truly peak cinematic gameplay.
My first base was in the wood improvised shelters camo net with base fences only to create more cover but not obvious walls worked for a very long time.
Love this video, my bases tend to be tents with camo nets in the middle of the forest and located by landmarks only. But I have built others as well. Some really good ideas here.
My longest lasting stashes have been single crates in random bushes in areas that look super boring. I spread the stashes around, so they don't all get discovered at once.
I'm talking stashes full of nades, high tier guns and mags, halloween pumpkins, plastics, etc. Location is key, but it's also important not to overload your stash. The more items and crates in the same spot, the more lag players feel when passing nearby.
The black houses are good to build too. You can have 3 easy gates without mods and if you have free building you can add up to 10 gates on a small house
Best base idea, don't leave your loot inside the base. I have 8 walls you have to get through and no loot at the end for anyone dumb enough to try. I hate everyone on my server.
You can trap base them in a garage also. Put empty barrels in the garage. Reverse the wall so the outside faces inside the garage, only build the lower half, then build a platform next. The person has three choices. 1. Move along bc they know it's a trap. 2. Jump over find nothing there then they can't get out and 3. Start disassemble the platform and wall to leave themselves open to KOS. Fun way to get people to rage.

Those are cute. My base has 72 gates between 2 apartments that we connected with a sky bridge of fence platforms that we can walk across. Ofc it’s on a vanilla ish community server because I’ve played official for 2 1/2 years but constantly got offlined, people swimming in, alts raids for literally 10 hour fights..

My server witch I've payed for a custom base bro we've got two castles Iva side eatch other with a train bridge connecting them together and eatch side of the castles we got big bunkers added for grow rooms aha we got underground loot bunkers ect rigged out with gear aha it's olny 32 pip server on liviona and we literally right all weekend long 😂😂😂 our fractions at the most 22 deep aha there's olny 3 mains fractions on the map x plus stragglers and it's the best yeno only been playing 7 months or so bro but the battles we've had 😂 like we take turns eatch weekend if we hit there's first then we'll try our best to get in and hold it down for long as possible the first week our base was able to bee raided sum with a team of 8 bro an am telling you they kept me up 16 hours straight 😂😂 I wasn't about to let them take my base the first week I came on server aha it so fun xxx

REMEMBER! The wire will go on the left inside of the fence gates, and the combo lock will be on the right inside, so that will need to be accessible from the outside (left) of whatever doorway you're using!
I'm not too much into bases, I'm more of a solo/ nomadic style of playthrough. That being said, one thing I have yet to figure out how to find or get is a tent. Namely a smallish one like what you have inside that base. Where do I find these? Especially on a vanilla server, where there's no traders to my knowledge

Just want to point out that having a double gate system at enttrance is excellent. But the first gate must not have a lock. That way you can quickly open and close it. Giving you cover to unlock the actual first gate. Follow up with locked gates for additional security.
Personally, the red roofed barn design is a little weird. What you could also do is use watchtower roofs over the middle section and build multiple gates like an airlock, but then use the barn stairs to get up on the watchtower level. Just my two cents on the matter.
What are your thoughts on barricading a red brick pub? Specifically the on in grishino. It’s in a good spot away from zombies, close to airfield, and close to base building supples. It just has a lot of windows.
I made a base in a barn, why can’t I get back in? I set the lock and was able to put it on the gate but seems as I can’t reach the lock even though I can see it, does the lock need to be closer to the opening? Like an offset door instead of squares up, I’m new and I think I messed up
Good tip to prevent raiders from tearing down the rest of your walls to take your nails or to be just mean if they get inside is to make all your walls into gates and put locks on them. Raiders can’t tear down gates with locks they’ll have to waste resources destroying it to take down.
I once had a base in the barn in Zeleno and it lasted really long cause nobody went there. Everyone was busy looting the military base, garages, hospital and so on and just ignored the lousy barn in the middle of town.
The first is in fact my base... You 😂 also showcase the exact same spot 😅 place don't raise me! Another tip is stash your loot in multiple places around the very same area do help defending the very same... Another good example is take a barrel and find a big tree and take down that tree, you must place the very same barrel in the middle and open! The server will restart and the barrel will be in the tree, and you do have a place that everybody looks but never will imagend to search in to it!
That's strange, I thought when switching servers it placed them in a random spot. Unless maybe someone logged out in that spot way before a base was made hmm
It's decent, hard to recommend an exact spot, each server can have different foot traffic. Flag Poll basically makes it easier to refresh the despawn timer. But you can also do that by hand.
I've been playing for a out 2 years now, I have server hopped official in search of one thing... Nails.. for 2 weeks now in one playthrough I've looked for about 5 hours per day. I find everything else but nails. I've searched from the north to the south and have yet to find one box of friggin nails... I have a plate carrier, field bag and large clothing which are all full of loot with 3-4 stashes throughout the world on one server. I don't know where else to go to find yhem
Flag polls are basically to make it more convenient. If you interact with an object it refreshes the timer on it. Flagpole does that job for you when raising the flag.
I don't, that is actually just one watch tower. The first floor (on the ground level) and 2nd floor (the "roof" is the top of the dam). These videos are made on a private server but with no mods, basically official settings.

I believe it is because the large ones have a hole in the side (upper) that players can cheese into. the small ones have gaps in the walls that people can shoot into to ruin your stuff.
I hate to say it, but building bases on official, is a complete waste of time. Unless your squad is actually online to defend it. Since I usually roll in small groups or solo, the only bases I build are shed bases to park cars in. Other than that I resort to hidden stashes. It takes so much more effort to build, then raid a base on vanilla. Great video tho
I learned a lot from ur videos from when i was a beginner and this is nice but ill be honest lol, as a strictly solo official 1pp player, I dont see any of this lastintnlong for the amount of work it will take unless i live on a low pop server ;(😢

But I'll give base building a try If it's possible solo, I can imagine the materials requirements are going to be a lot. Also where the hell do people find barrels? What am I to do if my base is miles away and I find a barrel on the other side of the world? They make you walk slowly and cars are next to impossible on officiall at least if the spark plug isn't gone. I have noticed sometimes if I can't place a gate, I have to throw the fence kit out of my hands, pick it up again, then try to place it again. Not sure if that actually works but sometimes it feels like it does for me.

Anyways I'm on a build anywhere server now & I'm at fishing village 😎 it's great here very underated imo 🤔 or I'm just used to being a loner 🤣 all my back is covered by huge mountain & I popped in 4 towers in a square,4 more towers out front on the rocks etc and to get my few barrels of junk errr I mean amazing tier 3 stuff 😂 you'd have to raid through at least 30 or 40 metal 4 Digi locked gates with various barbed wire ... Along with certain stairs you need to know how to get up to get up or it just won't let you 🤪😂 the main stairs to my barrels you can't get past the top step unless you're carrying nothing 😱 so you can't head up armed 🤔☹️😂 I have almost 40 separate lock combos in use throughout. The Whole thing is quite frankly a working miracle 🤔👍😎🤪 & sea views 😎🤣 there must be 100 or maybe more gates or fences all together 😱 I haven't stopped building since reset I think I have base building addiction 🤔👀☹️🤣 & I can drive now too cos for a few months before & after reset I'd just walk metal etc back to here , as you do 🤔👍🤪🤪🤪😂
On official server though I was 5800 in same spot but it will only allow 2 towers in this space but you can do a bunch of gates etc diagonally and to surround the front of it all & plenty barbed wire spots , so it still makes it a decent spot I thought for a change of scenery 👍😎
Basically it means the game as it was, out of the box, fresh download, no changes. Private servers have the ability to tweak settings and add custom content and that would not be vanilla.
In real life the dam wins out. The first base can easily be set ablaze,the hay bales doesn’t help. The dam minimizes this,fish are plentiful,camouflaged.
not exactly, on official, basically a flag refreshes the despawn timer on items inside the base. Without the flag, the items inside have their default values, but won't depsawn if you interact with them once in a while.
never had much luck with bases in vanilla servers... those fuckers are persistent... 3figure chain lock can be hacked in like 20 minutes and the four digit one like 3 hours... always had to build like 3 to 4 doors to keep my loot safe but it's a bitch to get into since chain locks are shit since getting access is slow... otherwise good video
Garages #1. I have 5 gates protecting a car and gear with none of them showing externally. Funny thing is during the Christmas tree event I learned to bury my best loot nearby
If I remember correctly they are awkward to build in. Lots of gaps you can't close yet people can climb into. You may be able to put a single gate some some individual rooms, but not the whole thing (vanilla)
Lockpick is not secure, it's just a few smacks away from getting popped open. They are good for being protected while eating though, avoiding getting surprised.

Yep the lock side needs to be closer to the opening. That has happened to me before too. It's odd that DayZ never made a solutions to this.

Locking the door with a lockpick might keep it closed. I have not done testing on this yet. Might have to look into that.

i play on official servers, and same players logout on other servers and enter on my server to try ghost in on my base -_-... any tips?
That's strange, I thought when switching servers it placed them in a random spot. Unless maybe someone logged out in that spot way before a base was made hmm

It's decent, hard to recommend an exact spot, each server can have different foot traffic. Flag Poll basically makes it easier to refresh the despawn timer. But you can also do that by hand.
I've been playing for a out 2 years now, I have server hopped official in search of one thing... Nails.. for 2 weeks now in one playthrough I've looked for about 5 hours per day. I find everything else but nails. I've searched from the north to the south and have yet to find one box of friggin nails... I have a plate carrier, field bag and large clothing which are all full of loot with 3-4 stashes throughout the world on one server. I don't know where else to go to find yhem

Don't you need flagposts nowadays to keep your base save from decaying?
Flag polls are basically to make it more convenient. If you interact with an object it refreshes the timer on it. Flagpole does that job for you when raising the flag.

Did you stacked 2 first floor watchtower on top of eachother in the dam? Because that isnt possible on official
I don't, that is actually just one watch tower. The first floor (on the ground level) and 2nd floor (the "roof" is the top of the dam). These videos are made on a private server but with no mods, basically official settings.
@@Nitno weird, you can see the part of the watchtower that is usually underground hanging down below the first floor ceiling. Never seen a second floor do that
As of 6-27-23 I was unable to build fences or gates inside several structures in vanallia servers. Do y'all know when this or why this happened? Thanks n advance.
Hmmm, not sure. They did make changes to how far fenced need to be apart.
why wooden barns are not recommended? the small and the large one.
I believe it is because the large ones have a hole in the side (upper) that players can cheese into. the small ones have gaps in the walls that people can shoot into to ruin your stuff.
Can you build a stick tent in a barn?
You should be able to, I have not tested it personally though.

I hate to say it, but building bases on official, is a complete waste of time. Unless your squad is actually online to defend it. Since I usually roll in small groups or solo, the only bases I build are shed bases to park cars in. Other than that I resort to hidden stashes. It takes so much more effort to build, then raid a base on vanilla.

True, it "just for fun" for the people who want do build in a building. Most basses on official don't last too long. The nature of bases really.
@@Nitno yea I think I remember watching one of your vids about stashes being better for solo players or it may have been another person. But I'll give base building a try If it's possible solo, I can imagine the materials requirements are going to be a lot. Also where the hell do people find barrels? What am I to do if my base is miles away and I find a barrel on the other side of the world? They make you walk slowly and cars are next to impossible on officiall at least if the spark plug isn't gone. People who have bases full of barrels, is the idea that they just built the base close to where barrels spawn? Because I have no idea where the barrels are.
Anyone been having issues placing walls lately? It seems like there’s hardly any areas I can add a wall/gate where I used to be able to previously build them, on Xbox
I have noticed sometimes if I can't place a gate, I have to throw the fence kit out of my hands, pick it up again, then try to place it again. Not sure if that actually works but sometimes it feels like it does for me.

Anyways I'm on a build anywhere server now & I'm at fishing village 😎 it's great here very underated imo 🤔 or I'm just used to being a loner 🤣 all my back is covered by huge mountain & I popped in 4 towers in a square,4 more towers out front on the rocks etc and to get my few barrels of junk errr I mean amazing tier 3 stuff 😂 you'd have to raid through at least 30 or 40 metal 4 Digi locked gates with various barbed wire ... Along with certain stairs you need to know how to get up to get up or it just won't let you 🤪😂 the main stairs to my barrels you can't get past the top step unless you're carrying nothing 😱 so you can't head up armed 🤔☹️😂 I have almost 40 separate lock combos in use throughout. The Whole thing is quite frankly a working miracle 🤔👍😎🤪 & sea views 😎🤣 there must be 100 or maybe more gates or fences all together 😱 I haven't stopped building since reset I think I have base building addiction 🤔👀☹️🤣 & I can drive now too cos for a few months before & after reset I'd just walk metal etc back to here , as you do 🤔👍🤪🤪🤪😂
On official server though I was 5800 in same spot but it will only allow 2 towers in this space but you can do a bunch of gates etc diagonally and to surround the front of it all & plenty barbed wire spots , so it still makes it a decent spot I thought for a change of scenery 👍😎

What’s vanilla mean?
Basically it means the game as it was, out of the box, fresh download, no changes. Private servers have the ability to tweak settings and add custom content and that would not be vanilla.

In real life the dam wins out. The first base can easily be set ablaze,the hay bales doesn’t help. The dam minimizes this,fish are plentiful,camouflaged.

not exactly, on official, basically a flag refreshes the despawn timer on items inside the base. Without the flag, the items inside have their default values, but won't depsawn if you interact with them once in a while.

never had much luck with bases in vanilla servers... those fuckers are persistent... 3figure chain lock can be hacked in like 20 minutes and the four digit one like 3 hours... always had to build like 3 to 4 doors to keep my loot safe but it's a bitch to get into since chain locks are shit since getting access is slow... otherwise good video
Thanks man, yep it can be hit or miss. Seclusion and luck is half the battle. Sometimes it just doesn't work out.

If I remember correctly they are awkward to build in. Lots of gaps you can't close yet people can climb into. You may be able to put a single gate some some individual rooms, but not the whole thing (vanilla)

Lockpick is not secure, it's just a few smacks away from getting popped open. They are good for being protected while eating though, avoiding getting surprised.
