EV Sales Are TANKING!! The REAL Reasons Revealed!

  • The Biden administration's ambitious plan to convert two-thirds of new automobiles to electric powertrains by 2032 has been formally shelved, signaling a dramatic change in the automotive industry. The aim has been significantly reduced because, quite simply, the electric vehicle industry isn't growing at the predicted rate. Actually, it's not moving forward at all, even with steep discounts and plenty of incentives. Let's examine the six main factors that are causing the electric vehicle sales slump.
    Reason Number 6. Market Oversaturation.
The electric vehicle market has experienced a seismic shift, where the once-celebrated demand seems to have plateaued. Dealerships find themselves grappling with an oversupply conundrum, as their showrooms become virtual parking lots for unsold electric vehicles. With inventory levels exceeding the 100-day mark, their reluctance to push sales is an understandable business strategy in the face of such a supply glut. Compared to their peers in the industry, this surplus stands as a testament to their production prowess.
But what lies at the root of this paradoxical situation? In the aftermath of last year's supply chain crisis resolution, automakers seized the opportunity to ramp up production. Fueled by the allure of year-over-year growth rates soaring above 90%, the supply surged by a staggering 500%. However, this meteoric rise encountered a speed bump, as the growth rate decelerated to a relatively modest 50% by the end of the previous year, a far cry from the unprecedented 90% or greater growth witnessed in preceding years.

Battery Cells are failing at extremely high rates (going faulty not burst into flames!), Thus are proving less Reliable than ICE and Hybrids even Tesla is having these issues with Lithium Ion Cells and they make their own in house!
Why Quantity being made means lower Quality Control and higher chance bad batches are going too pass when they shouldn't or not even get tested at all
Lower Quality Lithium Salt being refined in China thus more impurities
Not enough EV Charging Stations both Public but also in very built up Cities (Newyork, London etc!) not enough room to put private chargers, Also most grids cannot handle the extra demand on the grid adding 500,000 EV's to one city is the same as doubling the demand on the grid overnight when most grids are barely coping with standard Usage in Hot or Cold weather!

You people kill me. Last year company x sold no EV's and this year it sold one. That's a 100% increase in sales. That's the kind of arithmetic you people use. Hybrid batteries still cost 8,000 dollars when you have to replace them.

The reason why EV sales are tanking is that it's NOT TRUE AT ALL. EVs now own 50% of the Chinese market which is the largest in the world. China will now decide when EVs will be cheaper than ICE cars. EV sales have reached more than 90% in Norway and keep growing in many other countries.
In fact, the 2023 edition of the Global EV Outlook (GEVO-2023) showed that EV sales in the world have grown 35% in 2023 compared to 2022. In the first quarter of 2024, EVs sales grew by 25% compared to the first quarter of 2023.

Fair question given all the fake news. Reality is EV's still growing but the rate of growth has slowed significantly. GM and many more can't sell theirs because their products somewhat suck and lose $.
Tesla is still making money plus the batteries will continue to get both better and cheaper.

Well for example chatGPT is reporting in the first five months of 2024, electric vehicle (EV) sales in the United States saw significant growth compared to the same period in 2023. Total EV sales reached approximately 316,000 units, up from around 268,000 units in the first five months of 2023. This represents an increase of about 18% year-over-year.

#1 reason resale/trade in sucks balls. I'm out till EV's hold value better or prices are hugely cut to help new owners not get killed with depreciation

Thumbs down for misleading video. Monthly fluctuations are normal for any industry. Long tem trend is clearly up. ICE vehicles are finished as future investments. Dead money and rapid depreciation on new ICE vehicles. In 5 years time there will be more EVs than ever. EVs aint going nowhere. Prices are falling. Super charging will become ubiquitous. Yes hybrids will have a future, however long term that future will be severely limted and ICE will be near non existent. All issues discussed in the video are short term challenges only. This wont even be a topic of discussion in 5 years time. EV's 500 kW super charging rollout will be backed by Tesla, Google and others. Yes there are EV design challenges which will be resolved with the next few years as they right size designs to meet market demands. Ultimately they will be cheaper to run, as EVs are vastly more energy efficient than ICE vehicles.

Can't wait for the long term #'s to come out to shut all your Evanglests up. As I think the silent majority of us Americans will shy away from them. As we the Late Majority will take one look at these things and just say No Thanks I'll will take that old chevy over there. Do you really think there will ever be Old Classic Electric Vehicles ? I think not. There is no replacement for displacement.

    Depreciation.
The automobile remains for most, the second largest investment one makes in their lives. Ice/hybrid vehicles retain that investment value much better.

I will come at you bro .....only to buy you a Beer : - ) Spot on brother. The Investment only makes sense if you can fix the damm thing 10 years down the road when it's been paid off. What good is it if # 1. Its too expensive to fix. #2. No One is Quallified to Fix them. 3. You can't get parts and do it your self ! I plan on buying multiple old ICE cars and keeping them on the road. Love a car I don't need an electrical engineering degree just to jack it up to change a flat tire. O that is right EV's don't Fart or get Flats !

Not for another 20 to 35 years most people keep a new or near new car for 15 to 25 years before changing again Family, Job or Mobility Issues not being factor in but even that would increase new car sales by 15% at best every decade!
It will happen but not in 3 to 15 years like Elon wants us to believe why
      1. Cost of EV's vs ICE or Hybrids Upfront
      2. Lack of spare parts and trained personal
      3. Most Power Grids can not handle a Minimum 2x of power needs nevermind the 4 to 6x expected if we all go EV overnight!
      4. Lack of Public Chargers
      5. Trouble getting permits and trained personal too install new EV Stations both public and private, Also many homes lack a garage to pack in to charge at home or even a shared parking lot.
      6. A new EV is at least 2 to 3 times more Enviromental costs to make and takes around 15 to 20 years to even out its footprint assuming one is using 100% clean energy if not it is closer to 30 to 35 year's to break even never mind make a difference to emissions after all the mining refining and production and shipping or materials parts and finished product are not Emison free and a EV needs more materials from the earth and from further away than most ICE cars or even Hybrids!

Only Politicians and GOVT will never admit FAILURE and will always DOUBLE DOWN on BAD Pollicies, Even the 643 BILLION DOLLARS spent and the General Public aka us Early Majority will never buy them....as we see all the issues and like me I just don't need the headaches that come with an EV.
