This is proof Matt does secretly know what he’s doing. Winter is a great time to buy a convertible, and Spring is a good time to sell a convertible, so when (if) Spring hits, it should be decent profit.

Saying that your right. I did sell a convertible last Jan or Feb. Guys came from France to look for a convertible and sold it within a day. This time though it looks like car prices have fallen so hopefully mat got this car for a price which he can still make profit on without the dreaded price drops

I recently hired a Fiat 500, not the Abarth model, & even with the 998cc engine, it was still a lot of fun to drive! The manual gearbox was great to use & I loved the fact the car came with a mechanical handbrake.
Storage space in the boot was bigger than the model featured in the video, so I think it's a great little car! 👍👍

Be cautious with the roof! I bought a 500 Abarth convertible last summer for my missus. The very next morning a clip broke in the roof. Turns out it’s a common problem which is ridiculously expensive to repair. Fiat wanted £7000 for a new roof. The dealership we got it from was great but after 2 attempts to fix the roof they agreed to keep the car and refund. Great car, I personally really like them but I would get a hardtop

Its obvious this Abarth is egging you on as you drive it!!
I once had a 500 Sport Twin-Air with 16" alloys, a sporty bodykit and some go-faster decals plus an Abarth-style steering wheel, chrome gearknob and half-leather sports seats - basically it had an air of "Abarth-lite" about it and I absolutely loved it. On paper its 0-60mph was something like 10.5 seconds but somehow it felt much faster with its light body and grippy rubber, plus if you've driven the Twin-Air engine you'll know what a fantastic noise it makes. I remember constantly seeking excuses to go and drive it... If I didn't need a 5-door car as I do nowadays I'dve definitely looked to upgrading to the Abarth...
Great to see this one didn't twist your arm into another overspend! 👍

Nokian tyres: "Better", i.e. less worn tyres should be fitted as rear tyres, mainly for safety reasons. With more tread on the rear axle, it is easier to avoid oversteer, i.e. the rear end coming off the road. In challenging situations, the risk of oversteer is more dangerous than understeer.

My 2009 BMW Z4 E89 had first service at 21k. It's the only stamp in the logbook! I bought at 29k. And i bet my car is better and more well kept than one with fully stamped log book. Never failed a MOT.

Interesting to see you featuring one of these as Lucy on Cars did one last week in a High Peak sweatshirt!

My wife had a 17 plate 595 - great fun, if you hammer 2nd gear to the redline, dip the clutch and foot off the accelerator quickly before you change to 3rd I could make the exhaust bang loudly when warm - great fun

Cracking little featured car 👍 Wish that would have been available when I started to drive in 1978. Instead it had to be a Mini 750 when I was 19. But who forgets their first car?

I've got a 1.2 petrol ka (not a flex) but for my needs it's perfect as a second car, cheap to run, insure and tax, ideal for city parking and with the seats down a surprisingly good tip run car. Tiny cars are ace!

The CarVertical report wasn't exactly correct on this occasion. These Abarths have 1.4T engines, but the report shows 1.2 @3.29
Great video as always Matt. Keep it up!

I've got a white 2019 hard top with sunroof which I use as a daily driver. It's actually my wife's car that I decided to use for about 2 months, which turned into 4 and now 6 months on I've got a grumpy wife because I don't want to hand it back. In all fairness she loves driving my car so it's all good. I get around 6.5 l/100 km driving it like a granny in the city and some highway. It's hard to not drive it enthusiastically because it's always egging me on. It is a lot of fun to drive. Yes I agree a little bit choppy and reminds me of a go-kart but I love it. It's nippy but feels a lot faster and you often find much faster cars wanting to have a go. You always end up with a smile on your face whilst driving it, and I keep on thinking how nice it looks each time I get behind the wheel. Only thing I miss is cruise control for those 80 km drives between cities, but I also understand why it hasn't got it. Great buy and glad you didn't need to overspend for once, but I kind of expected it. They are super reliable.

You did well buying that for £7800. Cracking little hot city car. Just spent the weekend driving a standard 500 hire car. Not the most manly car ive ever driven but 58mpg was pretty impressive. 😊

You seem to really love that car - the smile when you were driving said it all! Why not buy a L/H drive one in Spain for use there? Pure enjoyment with the roof down on the Costa!

My wife had the 500x 1.7diesel and that was a license looser. The sport selector stiffened everything up and it made it feel like a rally car, pretty suprised with that fiat, it’s gone now and she’s got the mini countryman cooper sport and it’s like a tank build quality is really noticeable

Great little cars, I had four, Berlina's (Hard Top)
As others have said "Base" with the 17" wheel upgrade, 145 BHP
Great fun for two, or maybe a 2+2, tend to come fitted with Pirellis. I had one with Michelins and they are the best tyres for these cars.
    The mats are standard fitment.
Some people think the first service is after two years, should be yearly.
The ride isn't that bad, the Comp is stiffer
Best smiles per pound you can get
We could all see the grin on your face!

Got one of these as a 2nd car in a matte grey, Sabelt seats. It makes absolutely no sense, ride is rock hard but is perfect for blasting down derestricted Isle of Man roads. So much fun!
