Happy to be back! I hope you guys enjoyed the video, I poured my heart into researching and editing it. If you ever want to support the channel, one of the best ways is to check out my store www.greatlakesupplyco.com! I'm now selling unisex riding gear and moto armor amongst my other fun odds and ends ☺
Enjoyed your video Meghan, just waiting for this WI weather to stop raining/snowing so I can start pulling out the leather! Keep up the interesting content!
This was awesome. I had no idea. As a child of the 80's I loved my leather jacket. Can not forget the Road Warrior and the Terminator. Both movies that had the jacket out in front. Thanks Meghan.
This is an enriching short documentary. I bet it will be seen as a reference on the topic. Your videos are always great, Meghan. Congrats for the hard work!
Finally i know the origin history of biker jacket. Thanks man for the info. I always love the double rider jacket. It's such a unique and iconic design of all time. Its very popular in pop culture films like Mad Max and Terminator as well in Rock, Metal and Punk subculture movement
Great video Meghan! Hats off to Schott, but I noticed that you had some clips from the Langlitz shop in Portland as well. Ross Langlitz deserves a lot of credit for some of the finest motorcycle leathers around. Full disclosure, I have a Langlitz. 😁😁😁 Keep up the great work!
Very good video! Thank you👍 got a 1950s D pocket and a 1930s Aero leathers 1/2 belt. Wouldn’t go without one for riding and just general wear. Classics.
Awesome video! Sent here by Amanda’s recommendation, glad I was! Good homework on this one, some of that is hard info to find. Now I have a new company to support as well! 💪🎉
I recently grabbed a schott perfecto in an impulse buy and when i got home realized how funky it looks with my bike. It really only looks right on a harley or cafe racer.
Wow! I have enjoyed your content ever since I learned about you from Amanda Zito. Honestly, this video rocks like a vintage chair on Tennessee mountain porch in a hot summer! Absolutely great content, editing, and information. Thank you so much for this. Will definitely be cross posting and encouraging others to watch. Add this to your great coffee, design work, and other things you offer, and what can I say but thanks again. I think an episode about more functional motorcycle-specific riding leathers would be very cool as well. I would love to own a Perfecto, but only if I could put back, shoulder, and elbow protection in it. I wonder who might offer protection I could use? Hint hint 🤔
Dude, bravo! Have you thought about turning your script into an article and sending it to Revzilla's Common Tread or something, with a link to your video to help promote it? Very well done video!
I'm not sure they'd want to do that, but I'll definitely put it up on my own website! Certainly worth an ask though 🤔 I'll have to check and see what types of things they usually post on there nowadays
@@MeghanStark I wouldn't be surprise if they would share it. I have a contact if you need it (DM through Instagram or email on my YT page). They're pretty open to such things, but if not them, there's probably other online/magazines that would be interested in an article. Definitely your own site too. Best of luck with the video either way, it's 10/10!
Today i bought a Marlon Brando leather jacket, gosh...i look even good. Me? Yes, me! And that jacket will last for twenty years! The old gentleman who sold that MB-jacket to me was right...he told me choose the very right size that fit my shoulders. I am kind of a rock star now! A new leather jacket is the best thing for your mental health! In my opinion the iconic biker jacket is simply the very best! The classic!
This was entertaining and I learned a new thing. Cool! Interesting stuff, been looking around for a leather jacket, and there's honestly so much choice. and really expensive. XD Going to get one soon ish I hope as an extension of my gear to have a riding jeans and leather jacket and also for casual clothing.
As a kid I always thought the classic moto jacket was so cool. I'm 23 now and own three real leather moto jackets. A few of my inspirations are Terminator 2, Negan from the walking dead, and Mutt Williams from Indiana jones
Great video. No doubt the Schott brothers had tremendous impact on the biker jacket made famous by Marlon Brandon. Schott jackets are still manufactured and command over $1,000 yet they don't provide armor, let alone even have the pockets to accommodate the armor. Still, I read this classic was inspired by the double breasted uniforms of the Third Reich, designed by Hugo Boss, who was a member of the Nazi party. Personally, I ride with a Merlin Gable leather jacket. Much like any good riding jacket, it is full analine dyed 1.4mm cowhide. However, the Gable is also waterproof and comes with full d3o armor (back, shoulder & elbow), and has a full zip out quilted liner. I also love the look of the cafe racing style with the mandarin collar, a single vent on the front and dual vents in the rear. Thanks for sharing!
Nice video. My favorite image in your video is the image of the kate wearing a Harley cycle queen. I must let you know that Marlon Did not wear a Schott jacket. He wore a durable brand jacket. I am curious about your line of leather jackets. I will check them out.
A few years ago leather jackets were out, now they're back in along with 90's and 80's trends. in and out, in and out. no wonder we have environmental problems.
Annoying thing as a dude: random men have come to challenge me into a fight multiple times, just because I wear a biker jacket. (Must be it, because it never happens if I go out without) Even when I'm clearly a chill person. Still doing it though.. but it's weird thing. Doubt it happens to a pretty lady using the biker jacket. It's just dudes.. They think you're badass, better than the rest, Terminator or something. Annoying.. for me it's just about metal culture (I play guitar in an extreme metal band), I don't want to fight some drunken idiot

This was a video I didn’t know I needed. The Leather jacket is so iconic- it was cool to see the history. Well done! 🙌🏽
Thank you Lei! I've always love leather and learned so much fun stuff while making this 😁
I did not know Schott was that important in the history of leather jacket. Great video!
Oh I had a great image of Arnold from Terminator and I must have forgotten to drop it in! So glad you enjoyed the video 😊
Beautiful 😊@@MeghanStark

Hey Meghan, it was great to see another video. Well done, thanks.
Thank you for posting this video. It really re-enforces my desire to get a Black Leather Biker Jacket.
Finally i know the origin history of biker jacket. Thanks man for the info. I always love the double rider jacket. It's such a unique and iconic design of all time. Its very popular in pop culture films like Mad Max and Terminator as well in Rock, Metal and Punk subculture movement

Hi, thank you for uploading this video. You also, can't go wrong with a Bates Leathers and Langlitz Leathers jackets too.

Amazing video! Felt like watching Fortnine. Which is the about the highest praise I would give any motorcycle channel.
Very good video! Thank you👍 got a 1950s D pocket and a 1930s Aero leathers 1/2 belt. Wouldn’t go without one for riding and just general wear. Classics.

Great video!
I know I’m late, but does anyone know where the old dress code video is from at 4:05? Or the one at 4:25?
This was really cool

The Atwyld jacket is most like the jacket the main character in the movie the girl with the dragon tattoo gets as a gift from the girl.
Nice video. My favorite image in your video is the image of the kate wearing a Harley cycle queen. I must let you know that Marlon Did not wear a Schott jacket. He wore a durable brand jacket. I am curious about your line of leather jackets. I will check them out.
Like how they banned it for being "anti establishment" proved the point
A few years ago leather jackets were out, now they're back in along with 90's and 80's trends. in and out, in and out. no wonder we have environmental problems.
Marlon Brando Did Not wear a Schott one star! He wore a brand called ‘Durable’ Please will people get the history correct on this jacket!
🤘😎🤘
