great fly. I have been twisting up my buggers for some time. So many synthetic materials can be used. I have a norvise and make my own dubbing brushes with some synthetics then use them as the chenille portion of your design. I don't think there is anything new under the sun, so I will probably never be able to make a fly that hasn't been made already. This was one of "mine" but as you see someone else thought of it too, and has probably been doing it longer than I have. All the best, Sean

We call this fly the sparkle minnow in Australia, I've done well with it all year round for char, brown, rainbow, albino and tiger trout absolutely love it in the peacock and olive colours.

Question: first off you, use a smaller bead than I was always taught for a #4 hook. Is there a reason for this? Also, you always keep the tips on the marabou instead of using the more fluffy parts. Why is that? I always appreciate your tutorials and love your bugs, reviews, tips, and tricks. Cheers!

Oh, duh. Didn't connect using woolly bugger marabou. Now that makes sense! :D As always, thank you so much for the feedback! Looks smashing.

why don't you want weight (bead) on your lake buggers, but do want weight/bead on your river bugger?

I suppose you could tie it with barbell eyes or would that not work?
