    I love the clean way that you tie in the lead free wire!

    during the past 2 days i have been looking at euro style tying videos. was surprised at how few streamer style euro variations are out there... and then like clockwork, here you are!

    Great pattern, Tim. That's one of those flies that will have the warden thinking you were fishing bait in the fly area!

    Man your videos are killer will definitely be tying some of these putting a tiny mayfly nymph on a mono tippet behind one of these with 20 wraps of wire so really heavy and acts as a weight while the nymph floats 18” up from the bugger is killer drifted down the current seams of deeper runs and then stripping it upstream work so good it’s insane you get the nymph drift and the streamer strip all togeather

    Sweet tie mate 👌
    I make a mini jig bugger myself but I go with CDC as hackle and just regular dubbing as body, maybe worth to check out 😉

  • @coreystoner4129
    @coreystoner4129 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I use something similar but no hackle. I just use micro polar chronicle or med polar chenille for the body.

    I know this is a nymph video, but if you had to pick one dry fly for the west, specifically Wyoming, what would it be? I'm fly fishing small streams by the way with a 3wt rod.

    FINALLY, a wooly bugger tied with wooly bugger marabou!
    Any particular reason for wrapping forward with thread rather than wire to lock down the hackle?

    • @tightlinevideo
      @tightlinevideo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah, really digging the specialized marabou, a joy to tie. I don’t like the look of wire on buggers, just a personal preference. With the thread corded up and cross wrapped, I feel the the hackle stem is well protected. It’s also a faster tie without the wire.

      "orvis", "fly fish food", and "tactical fly fishing" are my go-to for buying euro flies, they're all just umpqua or fulling mill flies being sold through those stores, so you can also go directly to the source for them too.
