I met Roy Clark in Reno at the Sparks Christmas parade. The convertible he was riding in stopped right in front of me. I looked at him and he smiled and I said,” I’m a pickin’ “. He laughed and said, “and I’m a grinning’”. Since the parade was stopped, we talked about Hee Haw. He was a very nice man and a great musician.
Huge paradox man ... stop doing that .... R.I.P and Legend in the same sentence ... You are right ... he is legendary, but you should also know that .... Legends never die ....
Roy and Glenn Campbell were two contemporaries who were often under the "popular" radar of the greats. Fantastic skill and talent they had. The hours they must have piled up to get so good.
He didn’t just show up in Nashville and they put on Hee Haw. He had a legit career as the best guitar picker on the planet - oh, and btw, he played great banjo, violin and mandolin. He was Eddie Van Halen before Eddie Van Halen
Saw him at a County Fair in Georgia. Came on stage with a walker after 2nd hip replacement. Quickly demonstrated nothing wrong with his hands as he burned up the strings on just about everything that had strings. If there ever was a better on any stringed instrument you care to name, I don't know who that'd be.
Roy Clark was an amazing talent--a gifted musician, a comedian with perfect timing and a wacky sense of humor, and by all counts a real stand-up, genuine guy. They don't make 'em like Roy anymore...
😮 I'm from venezuela and I never been in USA 🇺🇸 I love blues I love jhonny cash but to be honest I had never hear before this dude until now because the algorithm of TH-cam but I swear since now I love him ❤ what a talented boy man 🥃🎸 let's toast 🍻
Gotta love that short scale Gibson Byrdland being manipulated by someone not blasting it through 6 high powered Super Twins through 6 dual showman wearing only a loin cloth and a smile. LOL!
