Hot to get Custom Firmwares on newer Xiaomi Scooters [DOWNGRADE DRV231 • DRV247 • BLE157]

- After the recent MANDATORY firmware updates rolled out by Xiaomi, flashing custom firmwares with downG and the ScooterHacking Utility android apps fails:
the main issue seems to be the newer dashboards coming with BLE157 - which interferes with the flashing of non-approved firmwares.
I initially thought that the ESC micro had something done to it to make it more secure - but - just swapping over the dashboard has worked for me.

Awesome video mate. I found it really easy when I did it. I've got a scooter that is hacked and my wife got one where the firmware was locked. I simply took the handle bars off both, unplugged the wire with the blue plug (none of the wires within the grommet) and plugged the blue plug from my handlebars into her scooter and the flash completed quickly and easily from there. Thanks for the guidance.

Taking off a friend's whole upper steering assembly off could be easier, it's just a couple of screws + brake line + connector. That way you don't damage their glue either.

If I used a friends dash or complete upper steering assembly that is not with the newest firmware, and flashed my scooter that has the newest, would I still be able to flash it once I've installed my dash again?
you only need the older dash for the flashing

you can use the 'downgrade dash' while it's still cabled into the 'donor scooter'
just connect that 4pin connector that sits in the pipe

Hello, have a new pro2 updated with BLE 157. I try to flash with custom firmware successfully but nothing change and still locked at 25km/h. Did I only need to change the dashboard to old version before BLE157 ? Which dashboard did you buy on your video is that a Pro or Pro2 version ( Pedestrian mode on Pro2 AND ECO on Pro ) ? I get a high pitch sound from motor when using cfw and when revert back to stock it goes away, what might it be?
I just installed a custom firmware with scooter hacking, by using a friend's dashboard (just screwed of handlebars, switched the plug, flashed it and voila)
Everything went smooth, other than now I cannot turn of the scooter. Sometimes it will make 2 long beeps and 9 short beeps and then it works again. I have read that it is an indicator of "Current sensors calibration errors or Power MOSFET error". But if I update it to the newest firmware again, everything goes back to normal.
This happened when I flashed it out of the box 1 month ago, which is why I had to update it to the newest version through the official app. This solved the problem, but means that I cannot put custom firmware on it.
Does anyone have a solution for making it turn off?

Had to revert it back to the newest version. Or it would keep beeping every 20 minutes, plus it wouldn't turn off.
I hope that the scooterhacking community will come up with a new solution
@@anjaansger1571 I have a similar problem, flashed it without updating to the newest firmware and the flash itself worked great but mine wont turn off aswell and beeps just like you described every 20 minutes, did you update to the newest firmware through the official app because mine wont connect through bluetooth to the official app anymore?
@@kylekatarn39 Hey Kyle. I couldn't either. You just have to delete the scooter from the official app and re connect it again. That worked for me. Only downside is that you have to watch the damn intro video again :D
@@kylekatarn39 and just curious. Was it 2 long beeps, followed by 9 short ones? It indicates "calibration problem with the current sensors or the supply of the Mosfet transistors" doesn't make any sense in my head
@@anjaansger1571 Alright thanks I'll try that. In my lack of patience I ordered a new dashboard hoping it would be related to that. It will arrive in a couple of days so I'll keep you posted if that will fix the problem, my wife has a pro 2 updated to BLE 157 so I'll try to flash hers aswell with the new dashboard.

Hello, I accidentaly flashed my m365pro with SHOWBAT BLE on xiaoflahser. The thing is i don't want this. I flashed again with original firmwares (from xioflasher) and I tried every firmwares. But there is still the percentage at stop. Xiaomi home doesn't detect my scooter bc is think is associated with an other phone. I tried hard reset bit nothing more. Can someone help me to remove the percentage please? Thanks

Just ordered a new dahsboard, and its giving me an error. I can connect to it fine, and my scooter runs with it but whenever i try to flash it, jt starts and then errors out. I says i need to "unlock it" pressing the u lock button crashes the app?

Unfortunately these scooters are illegal in the Netherlands, all of these, flashed and stock.

those have a new micro controller which is not supported by the custom firmware builders at the moment

I tried doing this on my Mi 3 and it didn't work. I have BLE 157, bought 2 new dashboards that say for M365/Pro2/Mi3, they look the same, but when I connect it says it's a Pro 2. When I try to flash a new firmware for the Mi 3, it says not compatible, I say to do it anyway, and then it fails. I have tried 2 different brands hoping one of them would work. Can't seem to find anybody else online with this same problem. I'm trying to flash Mi3 firmware, but since the dashboard says Pro 2 I think that's the issue.
it doesn't matter what dashboard you use usually
the most incompatibilities come between fake dashboards and the choice between scooter hacking utility and the other app I forget its name
try cooking for both apps and see if either works

i changed display to earlier than BLE 157 and i flashed both is hacked and driving fast works good but both when i turn they of they start by them self and they are not possible to turn of by them self please can you tell what i have done or what i should do to fix this ?
yeah, you have 3.0 or 3.1 controllers
I hesrd the nextgencfw generator (or a very similar name), has a working patcher for 3.1

Hi, I have the same dashboard pro (clone) just like you hold in your hands and I have issues with it (I bought it to replace the classic on my M365). The scooter is working and I can ride on it but when I am trying to turn on the front light it starts beeping and the light is flashing. I can't connect it via bluetooth to anything except M365 Tools app. I bought a ST-link to flash a different BLE version but can't find anywhere how to connect the ST-link to the dashboard. maybe you can help please? my BLE version is 910, ESC version is 555 and BMS version is 115. Thank you.
it is a bit tricky but you have to soldier 3 pins to the dashboard then you use the ninebot iAP tool or other tool to flash the ble firmware

Just got my new pro 2 and i'm very sad to see this video. I don't want to take apart my new scooter and replace parts. If you find a solution that does not involve taking it apart please make a video.

someone suggested just taking apart the fork - as it comes taken apart in the box
you could just hook that wire up to another scooter - so - that would be rather uninvasive
same, waiting for solution without replacing parts
again - it does come taken apart in the box
to the exact same extent you have to take it apart for 10 minutes during the entire flashing process
then you can use your original dash

technically yes - otherwise the scooter panics about the brake and throttle sensors and shuts down quite quick .. you can try it out and let me know if it works

I did buy a dashboard to flash a different BLE, however I watched many videos where they say that I have to first of all check the version of my motherboard (if V 3.0) then okay and also the microcontroller STM32f1 ok / GD32E1 bad.

I have serious problems with my Xaomi Pro 2, I am getting warning flashes and beeps of error code 14, 27, and 35 (depends on if I just pushed the brake/gas/button reset). This occurred after downloading the application DownG. I want to revert it back to stock, or just get it working again. I was trying to unlock 35kph..
scooterhscking utility has the option to load stock firmwares right from the app
@@Darieee I tried using scooter hacking utility application to revert it back to stock(Repo files). But nothing works. Not BLE129, 132, 134, or 136. BMS128 will flash, but beeping still occurs, same with BMS141.
When I try to flash DRV223, I get "flashing failed, update failed, reason: couldn't write scooter memory"
Same with DRV224 and DRV236 and DRV247.
Still showing signs for error code 35 and 27 (ESC configuration invalid (change SN))

there's always a chance to screw everything
but if you only flash the DRV, the dash has very little to do with the entire process - it just relays the data
let us know if it worked
but literally 0% chances of screwing the DRV on the first pro
just take their handlebar bits off and interconnect that 4pin socket .. no need to undo the dashboard covers
I have returned it. It has a wrong battery in it. Pro 2 with essentials battery 🤯

Hello, first of all thanks for your video, it helped me install cfw on ble 157, my only issue now is that it doesn't show me when i lock the scooter, or the battery percentage when charging. Maybe there's a fix for this, thank you!

I have 2 scooters: a xiaomi m365 with the simple battery indicator only display, and a pro 2 with too new firmware. Can I use the dashboard from the m365, flash the firmware and put the original Pro dashboard back and still have higher speeds?

try it - you can't break anything by trying (so long as you don't fuck a screw up or break a wire physically 🔥)
Tried, it didn’t work. It displayed it as a m365 but could not connect to it. And the dot lights slowly faded out.
yeah .. gotta try it with someone else's newer dash .. or get a fake one .. although - not all of those are guaranteed to work for flashing firmwares

you can totally do that - the dashes are 100% identical
also - you can flash the same firmware on both scooters, just go lighter on the wattage for the 1S (800w tops), the pro2 you can hit harder (1.1kw)
