For those wondering why GB has bunny ears, in Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins there is a power up that gives you bunny ears that allow you to hover.
Considering the context with GB and Christine, the sprites give off the vibe of the former being really angry with the latter, considering what she did to him despite his pleas.
It honestly seems like GB is trying to appear like he's "just joking" but still being very passive-aggressive. I say he's just "joking" because the instrumental has those "circus" vibes, but it sounds strained as if he's holding back anger, yet still taunts her.
