I swear by solid products. Tip - for your soap, try Matador flat pak soap bag. Even when you put wet soap in it the soap dries and the bag does not leak. Saves a lot of space.

@@The.LifeWithLoriI love the matador soap bag. I travel with dr bronners soap for body and the occasional hand wash clothing item. I don’t need the whole bar though…it lasts forever. I used a knife and cut off a third of the bar. The matador soap bag then folds down and it saves more space 😉.

I cut my soaps up into smaller bars and use a smaller soap container to put them in. Everyone is different. That’s just what works for me.

For high humidity climate try testing out Korean skincare as I’ve had high success with them . I work in a high humidity environment and travel frequently to Central America. For a cheaper alternative to Clinique balm. Try heimish cleansing balm or Banila ,

Great content! I use neutragena individually packed face wipes. They’re not considered liquids and stay fresh longer. I prefer it over a big package of face wipes that can dry out or leak if there’s extra liquid in it.
Also Costco now sells Ecos wash sheets. A nice size box for thé price of a much smaller package I paid for another brand. And it’s gentle too.

I got some of those expanding silicone bottles after watching your previous video. They worked great until it was collapsed all the way and nothing would squeeze out, although there was still shampoo in it. Oh well. I also got the airless pumps--GAME CHANGER!! Those things are AMAZING!! I've been trying the shampoo bars and I'm ambivalent about them like you.

When that happens I add some warm water to the bottle with the shampoo, shake it up, and then apply it directly to my hair. This doesn’t work as well for lotions, but for shampoo and conditioner it works great.

I use an organic ginger shampoo bar (Amazon or Temu) which I absolutely love. Lots of lather and leaves hair squeaky clean. This is the only one I tried, liking it so much I didn’t try anything else and not only use it when traveling but at home.

Your content is fabulous! So happy to have found your channel. My name is also Lori, and I love all things beauty, music, travel, and organization/home decor. I am also testing out lots of solid replacements for liquids, and I have found the Garnier Whole Blends Shampoo and conditioner bars to be amazing! They even have sulfate-free versions. The watermelon bar that I recently got smells DIVINE! Also, about a year ago I discovered Olay Daily Facial cloths for sensitive skin. They are dry cloths but turn into a gentle cleanser when wet that I am even able to use on my eyes. The dry cloths are light as a feather, so definitely a win. They thoroughly remove all traces of makeup, and since you have rosacea, perhaps not having to use an extra washcloth could be helpful to you. I wouldn't give up altogether on the shampoo and conditioner bars. I had to try several brands before I found the ones I like. Oddly, the Garnier Whole Blends has worked out better for me than niche products, or higher-end bars like the ones I first tried from the Lush brand. One more worthy note - they make tooth "powder" that I find is less gritty than the "tablet" version of toothpaste and still gets around the TSA liquid situation. Hope this helped in some way!

I use Petunia Farms shea butter soap on my face, body, and hair. It makes my thin hair look thicker and brings out my natural wave, which commercial shampoo suppresses. There hasn't been any difference as my hair started going gray. I do alternate with a clarifying shampoo about every 3 times I shampoo.

I use Micellar cleanser. I bought a GoTubb (larger) and filled it with the cotton round pads (dollar tree). I saturate the rounds with the cleansing water. It doesn’t count as a liquid now. Or I haven’t been stopped by TSA.
I have thought about trying the bar shampoo. And I don’t think I want to waste the money. I have curly hair. I also have rosacea. Just not worth it.

I can travel no liquids now. Working on hubby. We even found solid colognes. I found a lotion bar that I love for all climates, as well as shampoos & conditioners.
I recommend keep trying until you find products you do love.
I admit, I don’t wear much on my face, so a microfiber cloth & a little makeup in powder form is all I need there.

You don't pronounce the H in ethique as it's a French word, so it's more like eh-teak. I find solid shampoo fine but can't get on with solid conditioner. My favourite solid swap was the Lush Mouthwash tabs. I even use them at home instead of having to store those big mouthwash bottles.

Great ideas! I have been on that downsizing journey as well. I always take a smaller sized body bar. It goes a long way. For the face bar I would cut it in pieces and only take what I think I will need. That bar could last months. I had no idea that toothpaste was considered a liquid, considering the consistency. 👍

Girl, so many things to say!! Lovin’ your videos up in Austin gettin ready for my trips to Kauai then Europe!! Firstly I think you are hella-brave for getting on YT. Ive been thinking on it myself for 4 yrs & havent yet mustered the courage : ) ok 1) I have not only sensitive skin but also find flights & changing climates dry it out instantaneously (I have a secret hydration trick for that) but for cleansing I REFUSE to use soap!! Burt’s Bee’s makes a variety of cleansing wipes that also come in travel size & do well to double as hand wipes on travel day. BONUS: I think they originated here in Texas. 2) I also cannot give up my shampoo/condit &/or body wash/lotion - my hair is my thing, similar to yours but lots of it & very long. Consider this though - & it will gross you out bc it did me when my hair dresser suggested it a decade ago…if you go 2 days between washes, start stretching it to 3. Then go to 4. After a while, go to 5 - and so on. I am currently at 10 days between washes (this is what dry shampoo is for) and I have AMAZING HAIR at 54, yes even 3/4 highlighted, straightened etc

@@The.LifeWithLori Balm isn't the consistency of the product lol! a balm is the same consistency as a paste and therefore is counted by law as a liquid! a lip balm is a solid item as are other solids balms but balm means a cream or liquid used to heal or soothe that is called a balm due to it healing or soothing LMAO! TSA made the rules to keep people over there safe due to the threats of liquid explosives yet they are very lax with the rules and trust that people abide by them...
These rules are going to be stopped next year due to new scanning systems but FYI take enough in a little pot as everything that consistancy has to go in the bag along with mascaras, brow gel, primers, liquid concealers, lip gloss etc etc .. that is why i said i was interested in seeing your powder make up and i wasn't being rude on your other video just blunt and honest like most Londoners! I know you should be taking more skin care and i know that you should be washing your hair to keep the tiny mites on the hair and skin at bay as they are what causes the skin issues, which i couldn't see..
