I travel with laundry soap sheets. You can rip off a piece if you are only doing an article or two. For those who don’t mind dipping into a container, I use contact lense cases for things like conditioner, face creams and thicker lotions. On my recent trip I only used up one of the two pots of my hair conditioner and that was for 10 days! It taught me how little I actually use.
I may need to try those collapsible bottles. And pump bottles.
Also, I have purchased rice paper and painted it with face wash, body wash or shampoo. Hang to dry and cut into rectangles to fit a small container. I found it worked best with face wash. You also can saturate cotton rounds with liquid makeup remover and seal in a ziplock bag like wipes, instead of taking room in the 3-1-1 bag.

sunscreen can react to packaging. I don't suggest you decant sunscreen out of its original packaging. Just bring the 50ml or 100ml version for longer trips or a nearly finished 50ml or 100ml tube for the shorter trips.

Lori, thanks for your helpful video. I personally keep 2 toiletry bags packed, one for 2-3 day trips and one for up to 10 days. I also keep track of when my products are about to expire and I'll switch them out to use them before they expire (this way nothing is wasted). I also keep a medicine pouch (pain relief, immodium, cough meds, vitamin c, bandaids and first aid ointment) and swap those out before they expire.
The Heathrow comments are helpful. My clear quart bag is bigger than a zip lock but still within the TSA regulations and I've never had a problem with getting through security. Going forward I will make sure my mandatory must have items all fit in a zip lock bag just in case I wind up having to toss things. My facial skin is sensitive, so I need my specific products, but shower gels etc I could get away with buying at my destination if mine get confiscated.

I always decant my products too. Just be careful Lori with that TSA approved bag you have if you're travelling through Heathrow airport, as they are the strictest in the world and they say all bags must be completely see through with no writing or images printed on them. I've known them refuse to accept those bags and give you one of theirs, which are just basically a sandwich bag which don't hold very much at all, and they insist you throw away everything that doesn't then fit in it. I have a bag like yours which has nothing printed on it and I have no problems with it at Heathrow (I bought it over here in the UK at Boots the chemist - I don't know whether you can order online from them.) I too have rosacea and psoriasis so understand the need for your own products when travelling.

I've been decanting all my toiletries for years and had been using a TSA approved bag for a few years when I was stopped at London's Heathrow due to the vinyl/plastic being frosted. I had to take everything out and put it in one of those flimsy zipper bags, separating the liquids from the other stuff (toothbrush, floss, etc) as it wouldn't all fit. I now keep all the liquids together and all the other stuff together.

@@The.LifeWithLori There was an area before security with their bags. I grabbed one and repacked (luckily it all fit), but I saw several people being pulled aside in the security area to repack and having to toss several items. They use an 8in x 8in flat zippered baggie and it has to be able to be zipped shut. They also only allow enough liquid medicine for your flight. Any excess has to be checked. TSA lets you bring liquid medicines in your carryon, with no limits.

I know it may be a pain for some, but for liquids, if I am not sure of a foreign airport regs as to what they will accept as an approved toiletry bag, I put all toiletries in a quart size ziploc bag then stick the bag into my TSA approved thicker plastic zipper quart toiletry bag. That way, if customs said I have to have liquids in a ziploc bag only, I pull out the ziploc bag and there is no repacking in their flimsy bags! If they don't say anything, well, my toiletries are doubly packed!

Geez, this country looks amazing. I want to drop everything a travel over there. I see a lot of Namibians in the comments; would anyone give some advice on how one should ethically travel through the country. For example, I'm sure you should never be ignorant while visiting the desert and you should definitely come prepared. But also, any things to avoid? Whether it be for safety issues or because "immortal" practices. I'd never want to give my money to people exploit others or back a terrible regime.
I'm also very curious about the food 😁
I've still haven't stepped foot in Africa and I'm not sure if I'm going to be able anytime soon, but I should start making an effort.

How often do you shampoo your hair? it looks greasy in the video that is probably why your skin is worse as you NEED to kill the bacteria on your skin and hair so no wonder your skin is bad!
5ml isn't enough for once or twice per day for skin care for two weeks.....
foundation and primer and spray perfume are all fine in a 5 ml container for a week and 10ml for two weeks!
You didn't show toothpaste, make up and all the other items so no wonder the bag was half empty ...
This is ALL about the money making links not about genuine packing

I use solid toothpaste tablets and powder makeup products so they don’t need to go in my liquids bag. As for the shampooing, 3 to 4 times per week. My skincare routine and products are used as directed by my dermatologist and I’m happy with my routine 🌞🌻🌼

@@The.LifeWithLori Even if you apply a pea sized amount of cream one per day for 2 weeks 5 mls is not enough, i have Rosacea and i am medically trained so i know..
You will need a cleanser and moisturiser plus how about a body cream...
100ml is enough for 6 hair washes so if you wash it 6 to 8 times then you need at LEAST 100ml...
Conditioner with hair that is fine and short like yours you can use far less..
If your dermatologist knew what they were doing they would have told you to keep your hair and face, plus your pillowcase REALLY clean!
I was saying of course the bag is almost empty when you don't put what you GENUINELY need for two weeks in it! I would like to see what you really pack and how much of it for two weeks including powder make up as i up for knowing about that!

@@tijay8507 I’ve never been good at the pea sized measurement because peas are all different sizes 🤣. I just use one “pump” for each product from the dispenser and move on. My hair is very fine and thin so I guess I’m lucky there that I don’t need to carry as much hair product as someone that has more. I change my pillow case twice per week. I’m not medically trained so I’m not sure if that’s enough or not 🤷🏻‍♀️. I have a video on what I genuinely packed for just over 2 weeks in Thailand here
th-cam.com/video/atLyz5LINsQ/w-d-xo.html (I did purchase more sunscreen while I was there). I’ll add the makeup video to the list 😊
