Unbiased is the best way to view these lower budget guitars. They like a lot of guitars always need your fine tuning to your liking. I hate the reviews where they think they are Jimi Hendrix and just bash the product. If your a person who enjoys just playing with a few friends these are fine. Over a few months make a few affordable changes if need be. It would be kind of sketchy for me to spend 3,000.00 for a true strat for what little I play. I assume that even some high end stuff may require some work. Thanks
3.000 was kind of exageration since there are great strats for 1,000 .00 more and less.but till i find that bargain the Squires with upgrades is ok for me.@@ArtOfShredYT
I love these guitars. I’ve owned many. My only gripe about these is how thin the bodies are, which can effect replacement parts like pickups and especially the bridge’s trem block protruding out of the back.
Yeah, I hadn't seen it before either. I didn't look into it, but it might be a FSR (fender/factory special run). Maybe exclusive to one of the online shops. Sweetwater used to sell them: www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/StratAfHssRG--squier-affinity-stratocaster-hss-race-green-with-rosewood-fingerboard
If it sounds awesome why are you putting Seymour Duncan Custom custom? That doesn’t sound like the action of someone who likes the sound of their guitar in fact it sounds like the complete opposite.
@@bluwng The single coils in my hss sound great, the humbucker is a little muddy and not the sound I'm looking for, so only that getting replaced, everything else is fine. They sound awesome right out the box is what I mean
It's pretty common to want to swap out with different pickups even if you like the sound of a guitar. I like the way a lot of cheap guitars sound but I'd likely swap the pickups on all of them. e.g. I really like the CV 50s Telecaster, but I bought new pickups for it and will swap them out soon-ish.
Last week I brought home my brother's old Squire Affinity strat that has been sitting at my parents house for around 20 years. It was pretty dirty and only had 3 strings on it. I cleaned it and re-strung it and fumbled through some adjustments - I'm not really familiar with strat styles and tremolos. I think it feels pretty good but I swear it goes out of tune if you look at it wrong.
Ahh damn! This one doesn't go out of tune for days unless I slam on the trem hard. But a guitar sitting around for 2 decades without being played can have lots of problems. Tough to say exactly what it would be without taking a look.
Don't mind all the hearts/likes from me right now. I'm going through all the comments I missed over the past couple years. If I heart or respond it removes them from the "I haven't responded" section in my TH-cam studio. Thanks for all your comments/support, as always! :)

Yup, I just bought a thousand dollar Taylor and it's the worst setup acoustic I've ever purchased. Worse than a $100 Epiphone 🤣

Yeah I hear you there. It's a common complaint amongst modders, particularly the trem block.
I like that color, don't think I've seen it before.

I bought one in white and they sound awesome, I'll be fitting it with Seymour Duncans Custom Custom humbucker to build something sick out of it
Oh damn, nice!

The 40th anniversary Squier strat is awesome I got the seafoam green vintage it was on sale.
@@TheRealDealBobbySteele I've heard good things about those, but still haven't played one
@@ArtOfShredYT the one I have I had to tighten the five way switch screws but everything else is spot on
Cool guitar kill sound 👊
Yeah this is a fun one! Thank you!
Could be an open box return or demo.
As always one mans opinion ...one mans junk is another mans treasure .
Definitely my opinion and I obviously fixed this guitar up to play better, but these really are decent for beginners.
Gave up $50 for one today.
@@philarends7555 great deal! 🤘
