I get why you may think this is dark but it’s the visualization of the inner workings of endeavors mind and the warped mind of afo. When we deal with the skeletons in our closet, it’s not always pretty. That’s what I think
This was a cool chapter for Endeavor, but that panel of AFO about to seemingly eat that vestige was horrifying. I can tell I’m gonna get chills when this is all animated
Compared with previous chapters, especially the 1st war arc, you can definitely notice an increase in the pacing since then, acts that would have felt like nearly 10 chapters or more are seemingly reduced to 3-4 like Dark Deku vs Muscular, Lady Nagant and Class 1A as well as Shigaraki vs. Stars & Stripes

It was I felt it was the perfect time for him to learn advanced hero work. Tracing back leads. Working his way up the criminal food chain. Low level scum to mid tier Captains. Instead of just being stronger physically, I was hoping Deku would come back with levels of detective work & apprehension that everyone at UA would go "Whoa Deku. You've matured. Why do you sound like Erasure Head?" I'm just projecting my wants that he would of been hardened by the end.
You realize how deep Endeavors own trauma is when you read it was his own father who tried to save a girl and failed resulting in his death. If it was just a random person it’s still hard but losing your own fathers hits different
I'm really impressed that hori made me like endeavor, but damn if endeavor is going to die then let him go out in glory by doing the one thing all might never did and that's killing afo (even though his conscience might go to shiggy) but by doing that he will finally surpass all might.
To be fair, All for One is seemingly weaker here than when All Might fought him, but it would still be very nice to see it happen. As for Enji himself, I feel like I'm always going to be a little mixed, but I can't deny that his writing is top notch
Endeavor was a good man who was overtaken by fear and ambition, taking him to a dark path which he's now doing his best to break away from. It's a real good arc

I think afo eating vestiges is foreshadowing what’s gonna happen to shigaraki. Endeavor might mortally wound afo or kill his current body while dying himself but his vestige inside shigaraki is going to devour shigarakis soul and it’ll turn into deku vs afo

Not sure if anyone took notice, but right after the flame punch, it shows a panel of endeavors stomach, looked badly damaged and torn, looks similar to All Might's wound, same side and all.
The panel of afo "eating" the soul of a quirk that he stole was HAUNTING This was the most unsettling panel in the entirety of mha manga.. That mouth..omg it literally looked like an alien ..jeez afo is giving the chills

Endeavor saw a horrific tragedy, and his take away was "that must never be me. I must become stronger." Allmight, and Deku are more in the camp of "That must not happen again, as long as I live I will do what I can to prevent it."

I like Endeavor before but after this Chapter he is more than Just a Pro Hero. He is a Representation of Myself. I see myself within Endeavor. And his Psychology in his mind is so Impactful that I really have that kind of Mindset. NEVER FORGIVE YOURSELF That is his own Self Doubt and Pesimistic mind is really what I trully Admire. Everything he has done, all the achievements all his Failures, all of his Feelings. And Nothing No One Give A DAMN!! And my Favorite two lines are "Never stop Cursing Yourself" and "I will never Congratulate myself with a Pat on my Back" And I TRULY RESPECT HIS MANLINESS
The more I see of endeavor the more I believe that there's a chance for him to not only completely redeem himself but redeem himself to his family. Except for toya. It would take him a long time (if he survives) to completely forgive him. But I think hori might fix the totoroki family in a way that we can't imagine.
Something I noticed while reading this chapter: Do you remember how excited class 1A was when choosing their hero names? Why does Enji look bored if not depressed? I think and I have very little proof of it, his feelings of inadequacy run very deep
Endeavor is definitely one of the greatest characters ever out of almost any fictional story. He’s an inspirational person based on how terrible or flawed people can change.
I love him, but most people don't seem to like redemption arcs. I think it's uncomfortable having to recognize a flawed person who has done bad things as still being human and capable of changing, so people prefer when they get what they expected from a seemingly 'bad' character.
I like the "Star and Stripes" the number one American hero had a significant role to take down AFO. Even in this issue, Her actions can still be felt and remain significant. What a way to introduce and then kill a character in just 3 issues in a way where their role in the overall story meant something.
Anyone else thinks endeavours final line in this chapter should have been "Ending this fight, it's my duty, it's my endeavour" Kinda poetic if u think about it, starting his hero career to make himself stronger to end the fight, and now he's in the ultimate fight and he's determined to end it
To be honest, I actually always liked Endeavor. A lot of the times when a character is introduced as a complete a-hole they usually become a trash boss, or a character that has a great back story and character change.
MHA manga has been on a high roll and to be honest now it feels overhated but horikoshi the goat still writing peak every week consistenly while making us feel fear against the villains , afo rn seems like his presence could crush thousands easily best new gen villain cast also i love how we are exploting endeavour's past and motivations
@@shouryasinha1973 he definitely has missed, especially in the final act in a lot of ways, but when going into the darker aspects of it all, he does pretty well and I’ll admit the MVA and war arcs were the best part of the series by far. After the first half of the VH arc though, it got rushed and underwhelming for the most part. Idk how you think otherwise but hell it’s all about opinions in the end

I had believed Endeavor's turning point is when he asked All Might what it means to be the number 1 hero... Since then his character started to become more interesting as he's been slowly opening up more to others & the readers. But I highly respect how motivated he can be.
Honestly I feel it will end up with shiggy and afo in a battle of wills against not just the first holder, nana and deku but all 9 holders of ofa including deku. Where somehow deku talks to tenko (the child ego instead of shiggy) and gets him to fight with the ofa users and end the cycle in someway.
Endeavor's backstory just goes to show how well Bakugo parallels to Endeavor, their inferiority complex really drives them to be better... not aiming to be better heroes, or people just better people, just better than what they were.
Endeavour is easily the best character in this story. Sacrificing his life to destroy AFO would be an amazing Swan Song for him. I'm not sure this could happen though.
I feel like it would be better if Endeavor died saving Dabi over losing to AFO right here, right now plot wise. Either way, he is the most fleshed out character in the story by far and by far my favorite as well.

Not really must people I’ve seen online and have talked to like Endeavor at least from a character writing perspective. The people blindly hating Endeavor ignoring all forms of character development are few and in between. They mostly hind in the gross part of Twitter and tumbler (but who tf goes to tumbler anymore)
I've always loved Endeavor ever since the beginning of my hero Academia but I never really care what other people saw it I understand why there's people who didn't like him and at the same time I wish people will handle more maturely when it didn't like a character that someone else likes but I know we don't live in a perfect world. But I'm over overjoyed and geeking out Endeavor is receiving so much love it's so much major character development I'm not really sure I can describe how all that I feel call proud I am of his character how much more I love Endeavor as a whole I'm glad that new and old fans can feel more comfortable sharing their appreciation for the character as well without people belittling them hopefully the my hero Academia fandom has matured since the original release of the series. Where I'm behind on the manga so this is spoilers for me but oh well I really do not want to see another fire user died on me already lost Portgas D Ace back when the day I'm aware I kinda said same thing twice I apologize
I always liked Endeavor ever since I saw him running up the building in the anime with his fire I even liked that they humanized him by showing that he was abusive to his family but you shouldn't have to agree everything a character does that would be kinda boring. If he was a pristine hero of justice we'd have no Todoroki or Dabi no interesting side story of a family so it made him realistic and him noticing his bad choices makes him even better of a character look at his family they all still love him he still took care of his home he just was excessive in pushing them to be better than he was. That's complex relationships and good writing. as for AFO I think him "eating" the vestiges is just him trying to get the quarks under control but he's failing the real threat is going to be Shigaraki. Finally no need to hammer yourself so bad about missing details we all just enjoy listening to you nerd out over the manga panels. xD
It could be that afo has to sift through his hundreds of vestiges to find the exact one he needs and he can only get a couple vestiges back a few at a time.
If you are scared of the demon lord eating souls panel now... AFO looks like the Keishin from Soul Eater (a lot) during that panel... All the madness is so clearly demonstrated and the active malice he displays is the Perfect Example of who AFO IS.
I do feel we needed an extra arc or 2 before the final war, even if they were only smaller arcs, but at least Horikoshi is making sure this final arc is having great moments before the end.
As someone who has a father who isn't quite right sometimes, I am who I am with all good and drawbacks that comes with it. Him being deeply insecure helped push those closest to him. I stopped competing in general, so my brothers wouldn't think their sister stopped competing with them because they're weak. I'd rather help them go further and compete more, if that were the case.
I feel that him eating the vestiges might actually cause him to lose those quirks as a way to gain back control. Kinda similar to how Stars and Stripes, or whatever her name was, vestige was destroying the quirks inside tomura
@@AnimeUproar I would say that in the current moment, the short term would be more important and the long term. Seeing as he already has a vestige of his own that is beyond willful, he is still around in Tomura. He would really only need to hand on until he defeats the heroes, then if necessary take any quirk he needed form someone near by like a nomu.
Endeavor is great. While I didn’t lIke AFO getting hurt or affected by students of all people like this and getting his mask broken again is really making him underwhelming as hell besides the rivet explosion and ripping off endeavor’s arm, I did like endeavor’s moment and his backstory. Something that comes to mind is that his flashback on the father and daughter dying may forshadow him and his son Touya dying. Or one of them. Either way, endeavor is getting better and better as a character. And the artwork is really good. I feel like next chapter though, someone is gonna have to die
The students didnt really hurt him that much Hawks and endeavor did most of the Works And i dont think afo is gonna go down yet since the only broke a part of his mask not his Air supply. But thats how i think anyways Am glad your enjoying this chapter.
@@AgentNero9 maybe not that much and him getting his mask back does make their efforts in vain I guess, but I still didn’t like them being there in general and never will, it feels so damn jarring to have the students who we’ve barely seen can somehow get involved in this battle, especially with how it’s been doing now. This fight besides AFO’s river explosion and ripping Endeavor’s arm is pretty damn underwhelming. But the endeavor part in the later half was the only good thing about it for me this chapter

You can’t help but admire Endeavor the man had realized the mistakes he made and he not looking for anybody forgiveness the man is trying to atone and be the hero he was susppose and wanted to be. He not like All Might and Izuku and that’s ok all Endeavor can do is fight and strive to become the hero he wants to be and right now what he can do is to stop All for One.
Eating the vestiges should change HIM somehow. Maybe this will lead to his villainous breakdown. He's the ultimate "In control" villain, so he HAS TO HAVE ONE.
Man, Endeavor's gone through a lot pain and suffering ever since he became number one. But despite all of that, he's still giving it his all, especially in the battle against AFO.
Calling it now, AFO "eating" the white hair girl was just an interesting way of showing how he regained control over her quirk specifically. He's not really using any other quirk besides the rivets after he eats her and was having trouble using pretty much any of his other quirks while the vestiges were rebelling. To me it seems like instead of trying to control all of the vestiges like he's been doing all this time before it became a problem, he focused only on a single one to be able to use their quirk. It even makes sense with the way its illustrated since before it looks like he's struggling against all of them at the same time, but in the frame where he's eating the woman all the others aren't on him anymore and he's only got his hands on her
This reminds me of Persona 5 Strikers. The people you fight have done deplorable things and in some cases deserve no forgiveness, but you soon learn what led them down that path, better than regular P5 where the villians are cartoonishly evil, the exceptions being Maruki and Futaba.
First, I love the development of Endeavor. He’s gone from one of my most disliked to one of my favorite in all of MANGAS!! And this self-monologue was, a masterpiece! Second, good lord almighty AFO really is a MONSTER!! That moment of him eating a quirk souls…. Sent chills down my spine….
All For One eating these quirks lines up with the Titanomachy, the story of how the greek gods came to rule Olympus. Kronos ate his children that were threatening his rule.

When you really think about it endeavors experience that day was exactly like kirishima's, they both witness something horrible happen to two inocente people, and eventhough in one story the two are saved but the other is not. And through there experience they wanted to use that motivation of fear to become stronger, braver.
To think Horikoshi fooled us with Endeavor losing an arm. I bet he’s gonna surprise us with a tragic death of Class 1A or 1B. I want to see their time to shine with the final battle between UA heroes and Tomura.
I think it would be fitting if All for One gets a Freddy Kruger type ending with this. Like the vestiges he ate tare him up from the inside as they flee
After reading the latest chapter my feelings for Endeavor have never really changed. I didn’t like how he treated his family, but I knew he would get the chance to redeem himself in some form or fashion before death or the ending of the story. Most characters in mangas/anime who are the big jerks/assholes get the chance to redeem themselves after the audience and/or the MC learns how they acted the way they did. Some change and some don’t. I’m just happy to see him look inside himself and have a moment to really understand the legacy All Might left behind before retirement, and to finally admit within himself that he was afraid. The haters that don’t like Endeavor have to understand that as humans we are hopelessly flawed in some shape or form. Some actions can seem unredeemable to others, but when one wants to change, that’s when one begins to change. It takes time, some longer than others, and as long as they are making an effort turning a new leaf that’s character growth and humility at work. Endeavor is not one of my top ten, but he is still is a great character and hero in the story. I have a strong hope that at endpoint in the story we see the family get together as a whole, and just hugs each other after all the shit that happens. For Touya to know that he was dearly missed and for the family to say sorry, just so he can hear them himself would be touching. I’ll get to AFO in another comment.
AFO seeks control and power above all else. Consuming their quirk souls would be a final attempt to totally submit them as essentially quirks slaves. I think the exploration of this parallel dimension showing battles inside and out is just fascinating and an oddly human experience for a “super powered/human” society.

I wonder if Endeavor’s wife fully understands his trauma. If she always knew, then she must have known that he would use her as a tool. Did she think she could handle the burden, and then later realize she bit off more than she could chew? Endeavor is deep flawed, but I wonder what his wife’s perspective was. Is she tender with Endeavor? Does she stroke his insecurity? I assume they both never discuss anything. They’re probably both formal with each other and don’t trust each other. Don’t they offer pro-heroes a therapist?
She used him just as much. She is a traditional person set in her ways who had a family to impress and agreed to the proposal, she then admitted to wanted many children before they even had their first.

the strength doesn't come from Toshinori, that's just how he used one for all. Toshinori was quirkless so he used the energy built up with the quirk to enhance his basic abilities as a normal person
Well you can't be sure it ended like that, the fact that's its left undetermined proves that it's not over, and shigaraki is still another vessel for him...

Endeavor has once again earned my respect.
To be honest, I actually always liked Endeavor. A lot of the times when a character is introduced as a complete a-hole they usually become a trash boss, or a character that has a great back story and character change.
MHA manga has been on a high roll and to be honest now it feels overhated but horikoshi the goat still writing peak every week consistenly while making us feel fear against the villains , afo rn seems like his presence could crush thousands

I wouldn’t say he writes peak stuff consistently cause there are a lot of slip ups, but when it comes to endeavor here, it’s pretty damn great

@@shouryasinha1973 he definitely has missed, especially in the final act in a lot of ways, but when going into the darker aspects of it all, he does pretty well and I’ll admit the MVA and war arcs were the best part of the series by far. After the first half of the VH arc though, it got rushed and underwhelming for the most part. Idk how you think otherwise but hell it’s all about opinions in the end

I had believed Endeavor's turning point is when he asked All Might what it means to be the number 1 hero... Since then his character started to become more interesting as he's been slowly opening up more to others & the readers. But I highly respect how motivated he can be.
I think its important to clarify that Endevor saw HIS own father die to save a little girl. Which adds a whole other layer of sad mad.
Honestly I feel it will end up with shiggy and afo in a battle of wills against not just the first holder, nana and deku but all 9 holders of ofa including deku. Where somehow deku talks to tenko (the child ego instead of shiggy) and gets him to fight with the ofa users and end the cycle in someway.
Endeavor's backstory just goes to show how well Bakugo parallels to Endeavor, their inferiority complex really drives them to be better... not aiming to be better heroes, or people just better people, just better than what they were.

Endeavour is easily the best character in this story. Sacrificing his life to destroy AFO would be an amazing Swan Song for him. I'm not sure this could happen though.
I feel like it would be better if Endeavor died saving Dabi over losing to AFO right here, right now plot wise. Either way, he is the most fleshed out character in the story by far and by far my favorite as well.

Not really must people I’ve seen online and have talked to like Endeavor at least from a character writing perspective. The people blindly hating Endeavor ignoring all forms of character development are few and in between. They mostly hind in the gross part of Twitter and tumbler (but who tf goes to tumbler anymore)

I always liked Endeavour and took what Shoto said at the start lightly, it was too obvious he knew little.
I've always loved Endeavor ever since the beginning of my hero Academia but I never really care what other people saw it I understand why there's people who didn't like him and at the same time I wish people will handle more maturely when it didn't like a character that someone else likes but I know we don't live in a perfect world. But I'm over overjoyed and geeking out Endeavor is receiving so much love it's so much major character development I'm not really sure I can describe how all that I feel call proud I am of his character how much more I love Endeavor as a whole I'm glad that new and old fans can feel more comfortable sharing their appreciation for the character as well without people belittling them hopefully the my hero Academia fandom has matured since the original release of the series. Where I'm behind on the manga so this is spoilers for me but oh well I really do not want to see another fire user died on me already lost Portgas D Ace back when the day

I always liked Endeavor ever since I saw him running up the building in the anime with his fire I even liked that they humanized him by showing that he was abusive to his family but you shouldn't have to agree everything a character does that would be kinda boring. If he was a pristine hero of justice we'd have no Todoroki or Dabi no interesting side story of a family so it made him realistic and him noticing his bad choices makes him even better of a character look at his family they all still love him he still took care of his home he just was excessive in pushing them to be better than he was. That's complex relationships and good writing.
as for AFO I think him "eating" the vestiges is just him trying to get the quarks under control but he's failing the real threat is going to be Shigaraki.

It could be that afo has to sift through his hundreds of vestiges to find the exact one he needs and he can only get a couple vestiges back a few at a time.

All the madness is so clearly demonstrated and the active malice he displays is the Perfect Example of who AFO IS.
I do feel we needed an extra arc or 2 before the final war, even if they were only smaller arcs, but at least Horikoshi is making sure this final arc is having great moments before the end.
I just hope we get proper reveals for all the lingering questions, like Deku's dad. If all of that is covered, then I wouldn't say it's rushed.
Endeavor manifested a fist of fire after his arm got ripped off. This chapter was amazing.
As someone who has a father who isn't quite right sometimes, I am who I am with all good and drawbacks that comes with it. Him being deeply insecure helped push those closest to him. I stopped competing in general, so my brothers wouldn't think their sister stopped competing with them because they're weak. I'd rather help them go further and compete more, if that were the case.
I feel that him eating the vestiges might actually cause him to lose those quirks as a way to gain back control. Kinda similar to how Stars and Stripes, or whatever her name was, vestige was destroying the quirks inside tomura

@@AnimeUproar I would say that in the current moment, the short term would be more important and the long term. Seeing as he already has a vestige of his own that is beyond willful, he is still around in Tomura. He would really only need to hand on until he defeats the heroes, then if necessary take any quirk he needed form someone near by like a nomu.

Endeavor is great. While I didn’t lIke AFO getting hurt or affected by students of all people like this and getting his mask broken again is really making him underwhelming as hell besides the rivet explosion and ripping off endeavor’s arm, I did like endeavor’s moment and his backstory. Something that comes to mind is that his flashback on the father and daughter dying may forshadow him and his son Touya dying. Or one of them. Either way, endeavor is getting better and better as a character. And the artwork is really good. I feel like next chapter though, someone is gonna have to die
The students didnt really hurt him that much Hawks and endeavor did most of the Works

@@AgentNero9 maybe not that much and him getting his mask back does make their efforts in vain I guess, but I still didn’t like them being there in general and never will, it feels so damn jarring to have the students who we’ve barely seen can somehow get involved in this battle, especially with how it’s been doing now. This fight besides AFO’s river explosion and ripping Endeavor’s arm is pretty damn underwhelming. But the endeavor part in the later half was the only good thing about it for me this chapter

Endeavor and Touya both dying is definitely something that I could see happening.
You can’t help but admire Endeavor the man had realized the mistakes he made and he not looking for anybody forgiveness the man is trying to atone and be the hero he was susppose and wanted to be. He not like All Might and Izuku and that’s ok all Endeavor can do is fight and strive to become the hero he wants to be and right now what he can do is to stop All for One.
Eating the vestiges should change HIM somehow. Maybe this will lead to his villainous breakdown. He's the ultimate "In control" villain, so he HAS TO HAVE ONE.

Endeavor, best written character in MHA, period.
Calling it now, AFO "eating" the white hair girl was just an interesting way of showing how he regained control over her quirk specifically. He's not really using any other quirk besides the rivets after he eats her and was having trouble using pretty much any of his other quirks while the vestiges were rebelling. To me it seems like instead of trying to control all of the vestiges like he's been doing all this time before it became a problem, he focused only on a single one to be able to use their quirk. It even makes sense with the way its illustrated since before it looks like he's struggling against all of them at the same time, but in the frame where he's eating the woman all the others aren't on him anymore and he's only got his hands on her
so was she the original holder of rivet stab?
This reminds me of Persona 5 Strikers. The people you fight have done deplorable things and in some cases deserve no forgiveness, but you soon learn what led them down that path, better than regular P5 where the villians are cartoonishly evil, the exceptions being Maruki and Futaba.

All For One eating these quirks lines up with the Titanomachy, the story of how the greek gods came to rule Olympus. Kronos ate his children that were threatening his rule.

When you really think about it endeavors experience that day was exactly like kirishima's, they both witness something horrible happen to two inocente people, and eventhough in one story the two are saved but the other is not. And through there experience they wanted to use that motivation of fear to become stronger, braver.

I think they are focusing on the side battles now, so they can give a massive multi chapter focus on the final battles to "save" the villians

After reading the latest chapter my feelings for Endeavor have never really changed. I didn’t like how he treated his family, but I knew he would get the chance to redeem himself in some form or fashion before death or the ending of the story. Most characters in mangas/anime who are the big jerks/assholes get the chance to redeem themselves after the audience and/or the MC learns how they acted the way they did. Some change and some don’t.
I’m just happy to see him look inside himself and have a moment to really understand the legacy All Might left behind before retirement, and to finally admit within himself that he was afraid.
The haters that don’t like Endeavor have to understand that as humans we are hopelessly flawed in some shape or form. Some actions can seem unredeemable to others, but when one wants to change, that’s when one begins to change. It takes time, some longer than others, and as long as they are making an effort turning a new leaf that’s character growth and humility at work.
Endeavor is not one of my top ten, but he is still is a great character and hero in the story. I have a strong hope that at endpoint in the story we see the family get together as a whole, and just hugs each other after all the shit that happens. For Touya to know that he was dearly missed and for the family to say sorry, just so he can hear them himself would be touching.

AFO seeks control and power above all else. Consuming their quirk souls would be a final attempt to totally submit them as essentially quirks slaves. I think the exploration of this parallel dimension showing battles inside and out is just fascinating and an oddly human experience for a “super powered/human” society.

I wonder if Endeavor’s wife fully understands his trauma. If she always knew, then she must have known that he would use her as a tool. Did she think she could handle the burden, and then later realize she bit off more than she could chew? Endeavor is deep flawed, but I wonder what his wife’s perspective was. Is she tender with Endeavor? Does she stroke his insecurity? I assume they both never discuss anything. They’re probably both formal with each other and don’t trust each other. Don’t they offer pro-heroes a therapist?
She used him just as much. She is a traditional person set in her ways who had a family to impress and agreed to the proposal, she then admitted to wanted many children before they even had their first.

Wow! I loved your thoughts on AFO eating Deku's Vestiges! That would be crazy. If that does happen I have a feeling he wouldn't be able to eat toshinori. N deku might just be left with his super human strength .
the strength doesn't come from Toshinori, that's just how he used one for all. Toshinori was quirkless so he used the energy built up with the quirk to enhance his basic abilities as a normal person
