that poor darling girl. My Owen (profile pic) survived a month-long battle with pneumonia back in 2016. He tried I think 3 different antibiotics before finally azithromycin did the trick. His vet had me use a small nebulizer near him nonstop and he stayed in a box on my bed next to me 24/7 the whole month (I am bedbound). I had to perform a technique called coupage to help dislodge airway blockages when he got really bad. Critical care every 4 hours, 6x a day.
It was a massive struggle and he had a very strong bond with me and cooperated beautifully throughout the whole ordeal. Without his vet and the tireless efforts of all 5 of my family members, I know he would not have made it. Pneumonia is so incredibly difficult to beat. I wish that precious girl all the best.

In my voideship someone abandoned 30 guinea pigs... 7 unfortunetly died from coldness, it was in october. Good thing is every guinea pig found loving home

I honestly would never be able to work with animals just because of how awful, cruel and/or thoughtless people are. I respect you and Saskia for being able to keep your composure... but goodness it must take real strength and patience... I can't imagine...
What an incredibly sad situation these piggies were in. So upsetting. Poor little Molly. I hope she;s showing signs of improvement very soon. She's already been through so much and now breathing difficulties. So very sad :( They are now safe thank goodness. Thank you Scotty for all you are doing for them. It enrages me when pet shop owners only care about money and profit. I get they need money to live on, but animals suffering so they can make a quick buck is infuriating! To just not care enough to provide basic necessities for the animals is lower than low. And to take rescued animals and try to get top dollar from selling them? Despicable!

I'm so sorry that you had to go through all the bad actors. So elated that you have a nebulizer for Molly. I (as a former Respiratory Therapist) would like to know the medicine in the nebulizer. My animal hospital became a VCA and the charges for care went through the roof. They are good with exotics but wow the cost. I went to another clinic. Thank you and your friend for rescuing all the piggies. God Bless You All for your help. Molly and the others will receive extraordinary care from you. I'm looking forward for the update.
Sometimes adding a little lasik will help pull out some of the fluid in their lungs. It's an old school remedy and I can verify it works for breathing in guinea pigs.
This is so tragic - it’s sad what people will do for money with no concern for innocent creatures - glad someone has stepped in and got u and other rescuers involved

Thank you for the rescuing and the TLC you are giving these sweet piggies. I sometimes sound like Molly because I have severe eosinophilic asthma. Trust me, you are doing the right things to help Molly and it sounds worse than she feels. She wonders where those funny sounds are coming from. Anyway she looks comfortable and feels loved now that she is with you ❤️💕❤️

Sometimes I film videos late at night especially if it is a rescue mission so that is what you are seeing but I promise you I take my health and sleep very seriously
The pop up play pen is an amazing idea, so useful for emergency situations like these! I can't imagine how hard it is to keep calm throughout dealing with such heartless people. Damn I hope these beauties will be OK. So many piggies soon.... Youre incredibly strong to deal with, not only the animals in desperate need, but the people selling animals, breeding etc. It needs to change, now.

I'm watching this, and before I realized it, I was crying. I've lost 2 to URI. I have 3. We were up to 11 at one point between our own, and our fosters. I wish I could do something to help. But my resources are used for our local rescue.

Monsters like that should be locked away without food and water develop pneumonia and have no help whatsoever and see how they like it. I want to say a lot more about those monsters but it would be too blue for utube.

Never heard this sounds on a sick guinea in many many years of having guineas. I hope so much for Molly, that she get well soon. Let us know please. Molly is a very good name for her. She looks like a Molly.

Edit: I just want to say, this brought back memories of me with my gecko. I completely understand. I took him to the vet, fed him medicine with a syringe like that one just smaller of course, everything. He sadly passed away about 7 years ago now. This family friend was moving and had to get rid of her geckos, and I think one of her rabbits if not both of them. She said she got him for around eighty bucks but gave him to me for free cause it was my birthday. She seemed too eager to get rid of him though, so I should've saw that as a sign. Then again, I'm not sure if it was a sign since he didn't pass until about four or so years after. Maybe five, it's been awhile.
Point being is I can relate. Especially with my most recent boy who also passed a few days away from a year ago, now. Sadly, this was before I learned about how bad pet stores are. We've come to the conclusion that he was ill upon adoption. Both of my babies were taken care of me to the best of my abilities and let me tell you, that's a lot. Like you I go to any length for my animals. I even walked over an hour in the snow just to get food for my animal when no other shops had any left. Literally NONE. There was a shortage in my town and even those surrounding. I don't drive so I either have to walk or pay for a ride. I broke down crying by the way, during that snowstorm because after walking for an hour to another city, they too were out. I tried calling beforehand but no one would answer the phone and they're normally always stocked up. Family ran, knows me well, etc. Sorry for such a long comment just the video had me sentimental.
I know better, and I worked in cat rescue for several years, and 40 years as a clerk in a pet SUPPLY store that did not sell animals. I've had a variety of animals over the years, all rescues. But I went into a PetSmart just to look around, and saw two little boars huddling in a plastic cubicle by themselves -- no hidey, nothing to play with, just two guinea pigs in a plastic cube. I couldn't stand it and bought them both as my first guinea pigs. One had an infection, and just finished up his antibiotics from the vet, then some Benebac to build up the gut flora. I am watching everything I can find on guinea pig care on the Web. I want to give these little guys a better life.

I had one piggie that came to me from an abandoned situation. And while the cage was beyong toxic (had to drive home with the cage with all my windows down as much as I could to deal with the stench, didn't have any kind of carrier and only cage was at home with a piggie already in it), Patches (his name) was incredibly loving and he didn't fight at all with my other piggie that I had in the time it took for me to deep clean the cage he came in to then keep them in separate cages. He lived a good few years and was incredibly loving towards me for all of the time I had him before he went to the rainbow bridge, but I knew that the environment I had saved him from did too much damage to let him live a full life.
So my absolute respect for Scotty and Sakia at the rescue for doing the role they do, especially when the furry potatoes hat to suffer too much before being saved. Now if I could only have a setup like Scotty does with all those cages and all those piggies....that'd be a dream come true. Having only owned piggies as pets for over 17 years now, the work to care for them is never a chore when the happiness after the cage clean/veggie feeding/care given is more than worth the effort. Just to see them popcorn and the wheeking when you come into the room that is a sign they trust you to have brought snacks for them, so much so that my last two girls were so used to a point I couldn't leave my room for 5 minutes without bringing something back and had to develop a habit of opening bags/packaging for my own food in a different room to not mislead them. And my oldest was my longest ever own pet, over 6 1/2 years old of being spoiled as much as I could.
Sad for this happens so much....alot of the pet stores have to many animals. They don't deserve it. Thank u saving.

I was lucky in that I found a brand new in the box nebulizer at the Goodwill. Just need to order the solution from Amazon to add to my emergency kit. Glad you got them and they are safe.

Well done, Scott! I am lucky to have a good local petstore. I prefer adopting from a shelter, but i buy piggy products there. I wouldn't hesitate to let them babysit my pigs if I had to go away.

This shit is heartbreaking. I worked for a filthy-rich family, and they did this to their dogs, fish, snakes and bearded dragon. I was able to rescue some of the animals, but I was arrested for theft. The animals hadn’t been fed in 2 months!! Animals are considered property, so officials didn’t care about the animals. So effing sad!!!
You'll be happy to know in this case it was animal control who raided them and shut them down and was about to issue felony charges and still may.
