I'm a beginning spinner and I'm having trouble with my pre-drafted wool sticking to other parts of itself when I coil it for later use. (It's almost like I'm throwing a bunch of velcro in a basket.) Any advice?
It will stick a little and the more 'crimp' or rustic a fibre is the more it will naturally want to stick. I would make sure to coil it as loosely as possible and when ready to use gently unwind the same way it was coiled like unwinding a liquorice whirl or fruit leather (sorry that the only analogy I can think of) :D
Thank you for making this video! I'm a new spinner and was having so much trouble drafting a new roving, but pre drafting like this is helping alot!
You're very welcome, I've found it makes spinning roving a LOT easier xx
Wish I knew this before two weeks ago. Trying to draft from the roving really hurt my thumbs :(
There is certainly less of having to fight with the wheel whilst spinning :)
Thank you, very good to know!
Glad it was helpful!
