It has been 16 years. 16 years since last i heard this one on some nokia that only fit 46 songs on it and nothing hits like this🥰. This is just quiet devastation. Your blessed if you find this version instead of piano covers when you make the mistake of searching for without strings/violin. I'm really happy, only the birth of my first child can top this, whenever the hell that happens
I can remember the first time hearing this version. It was 3 in the morning, it came on the radio and I was in that half sleep half awake, getting carried away in a dream; It hit my soul with sadness but it was so beautiful.

Love the band version of this song, but the emotion here is so much deeper and more solemn. The variable tempo of the piano also adds another level. Pure frisson
I *HATE* how rare this version is. The Full Band/Rocked Up version is so inappropriate! The music until the bridge is so soft and gentle, the singing so lovely and emotional, then the drums and electric guitar come roaring in like a drunk uncle barging in during the middle of a wedding ceremony. I heard this on the album before the song was released, loved it, then when they released it, out of nowhere half the time I'd hear the Full Band version offend me! Half the time it was this one, but for some unfathomable reason people took more to the other one (I assume people who heard that one first). I'm a karaoke guy, my karaoke friends yearned and begged to sing this (I think second, right after Evanescence burst into public consciousness with Bring Me To Life), that's how this came to my attention. I think they were as disappointed with the Full Band one as I was. Wanting to study it for karaoke just now, USUALLY I would search "Evanescence My Immortal lyrics", but I know all the results would be the Full Band (and probably not bother to say so). As is, the same search without the "lyrics" just now, NOT ONE result was this version! I had to add "piano".
