This was amazing man. Really transparent with your reasoning. Others might fly through the steps, but you explained by the steps were necessary. Much love!
Very clear explanations thank you so much! Helps so much that you don't just show what to do but explain what we are doing and why in a systematic way.
Im at :21 wondering if this will be the vid that finally explains how to handle UV unwrapping and texturing with an image cuz I've seen tons of different ways but nothing I click in my copy of Blender EVER lines up with my object properly. Watching!
So even for a simple object with perfect topology, it takes a ton of work to get the texture to line up the way you want. So, just dragging a material onto the object from blenderkit is just a fantasy. hehe wow, so, apparently no fast way to just click some box shape or sphere shape in the UV part to get it close? Is the only way you can scale a texture to move the UV edges around in the left side? imagine having 40 objects you wanted to map images to. And they were all complex. You'd have to spend a ton of time figuring each one out and why none of them work correctly in the first place. hmmm thx for the tut
Hii I need help, after unwrapping and adding textues, I added additional bones and weight painted them, now the image texture isn't fitting the object anymore?
In case you haven't figured it out and for anybody else that's wondering, he pressed tab to go into edit mode and pressed a to select all vertices/edges/faces.
i opened up uv editing like you did and my object doesnt appear there like yours did? you didnt explain how to get the image to populate to the uv editor. can someone help please?

man you move waaaaay too fast in this video. i constantly have to pause and go back to look at what youre clicking because you don't explain it half the time. I suggest - slow down a little bit, explain every action and youll have a great tutorial channel going.
Great video. But better make it shorter. If people searched uv mapping they should know unwraping etc already. Too long. Better to show needed information from the start. No need to spend a lot of time for explanation basis. Better make separate video about basis. Please, save time of viewers next time. Or you do it to make it longer for ads showing?
Short and sweet, love it.
Thanks a lot ! : )
seriously, sometimes more info *absolutely* is a "bad thing" lol
I love these quick tips ;)

What does he do between 1:19 and 1:22 to pull it up?
In case you haven't figured it out and for anybody else that's wondering, he pressed tab to go into edit mode and pressed a to select all vertices/edges/faces.
@@christoph6055 yeah I did get it eventually, thanks for the help tho!
@@nordicnaes8562 No problem :D

bro, sorry, newbie here, :)
may i ask how to snap the grid start from 01:20?
I have an object and I cannot even change the color let alone apply a texture to it...following this tutorial... using 3.5
For no reason blender won't let me see the textures while I do the uv-thing..-_- also U doesn't work, what do I do?
I'm struggling with that first part :( It doesn't even give me that option
noob here, can i just use pbr texture without uv unwrapping ?
Unwrapping is necessary if you want to apply any texture onto a model : )
select mode does not work in uv editing, what am i doing wrong?
Have you tried to select the face you want to align in edit mode? In the modeling tab under the "UV Editing" tab.
1:02 What is this circle menu you bring up?
Hi, its actually the Shading menu, you can press Z key for it
Can you give wooden texture please.
i cant even find the uv editing thing. do i have to put a texture on it first?
figured out how to add a texture but mine never shows that fancy wirework thing on the UV editing.. only the picture of the texture i used.
Make sure you are in UV editing window and select the model in edit mode
@@CGInfinite no i cant find the tab that says UV Editing
my material properties dont work, when i use it i crash
i dId't find wooden texture in image texture.
👍
help me when i do material preview everything is just grey and i dont see anything T-T
Make sure you have correct material applied which has the Texture.
God bless
I have a problem with some 3d model, the texture doesn't show and it looks just smooth
Same for me 😭
Nvm i found out
@@Ubridj8 tell us???
Can anyone tell me where is the "material preview?" between "1:02" and "1:03"
you can hold z and access that or you can even click on the shading icon (right next to rendered view)
i can't see my texture when i press texture preview
Make sure the texture is assigned in Base color tab, and you are in Material View
@@CGInfinite i did but it also just looks smooth for me
@@CGInfinite doesn't work
in 3.1 not working like here :/

i didn't know about unwrapping and it's already only 6 minutes long, wonder what you'd say on the old blender 20 minute videos for a 5 minute process
👍
