    Thanks for the build video. Just finishing up mine and I referred back to it. I altered a few things in my build: Dubro soldered linkages, external 10a BEC (just to be safe), and I hot-glued the plastic bits on the bottom side of the wing instead of CA. I also didn't use the linkage splitter for the rudder/tail wheel and instead ran both pushrods to the servo arm at different positions. This allowed me to get full throw on the rudder without the tail wheel reaching the end of its travel. Almost ready to test the CG now. by the way, in case anyone is wondering, the extra servo tray and wood bits would be to mount a mechanical gear servo in the rectangular opening on top of the wing.

    Excellent video mate! Appreciate you sharing this. I love plane build videos. Gives everyone a good idea of the model quality and design. Looks like a great, easy build.

    Just a thought about the recommended 6mm throw on the ailerons.
    I think this is recommendations from the old version of the VQ P-51, which had no flaps, and had much longer ailerons which went along the whole back of the wing. Which means they had a lot more effect than the newer, much nicer looking ones, shorter ones.

    Nice video. Always like to see a build up of the planes. Thanks John. Good stuff my friend. Nice beefy servos, they should last forever!(hopefully) AirHammer out!!

    Hy John I think for your next project it will be better to connect directly the motor to the m4 spacers .Regarding your CG your battery is way back and you added lead to the tail. Can' you move the battery forward? Just my 2 cents Cordialement Adrian

    Looks like a very well built plane and strong. I fly the Hangar 9 p51 40 size and it's now 9 year old and still going strong with an OS 55ax two stroke. But I wouldn't mind buying this plane to have as an electric model. Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed this video very much.

      The landing gear need a little attention, there is a space between the strut and the retract, should put a collar or something in there to take that out.

    What was your all up weight? I used same setup, different battery and was almost 3lbs over the weight listed (6.5lbs) on the box.

    Why is the RTF with retracts no longer available? Anybody know which retracts to buy for this model? Thanks in advance.

    EZ connectors are a terrible idea for use on any control surface. Dangerous!! EZ connectors are for throttle only!

    Au niveau des proportion, c'est pas très beau.

    Electric engine? What is that? I heard of Electric motor. Does electric engine has piston? Still use glo fuel? LOL

    • @JohnVHRC
      @JohnVHRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It uses piston return springs with a splash of blinker fluid, and a side of magic!
