P-51B Mustang 'Berlin Express' ARF 1580mm H-King with SAITO FA 62B glow engine Maiden flight

This VQ model from H-King of the P-51B "Berlin Express" has a highly detailed "weathered look" covering to reflect the wartime struggles and hardships that this legendary fighter went through, see below. This ARF model also includes servoless retracts with scale looking oleo's (exclusive to H-King), a realistic hand painted pilot, spinner, molded airscoop and drop tanks, fibreglass cowl, servo mounts, decals and a complete hardware pack including mount and fuel tank etc for the glow version.
Other features include flaps and a battery hatch to facilitate easy battery pack changes between flight sorties if you are electrifying the Mustang. Please note the photos show a few details that you will need to add on at the building stage. These photos illustrate how a few extra details such as antenna and antenna wire etc can increase the scale appearance of your model.
William Bruce "Bill" Overstreet Jnr. (April 10, 1921 - December 29, 2013) was an American fighter pilot and a veteran of the 357th Fighter Group, 363rd Fighter Squadron of the United States Army Air Forces during World War II. He is best known for his solo pursuit of a German Messerschmitt Bf 109G underneath the arches of the Eiffel Tower in 1944
In the spring of 1944, Bill Overstreet and his P-51B Mustang, the 'Berlin Express', were near Paris when the action started, immortalised in the artwork by Len Krenzler. Overstreet had followed a Bf109 from the enemy fighter sortie on the US bomber group he was escorting. After most of the German fighters had broken off the attack, Overstreet and the German had begun a running dogfight, but as they neared Paris the Bf109 pilot had Overstreet on his tail. With the German pilot's desperation undoubtedly growing, he aimed his plane at the Eiffel Tower and in a surprising maneuver, flew beneath it. Undeterred, Overstreet followed right behind him scoring several hits which caused the Bf109 to crash.
The P-51 Mustang is one of the most iconic US fighters of WW II. The P-51B was an early P-51 Model and could be known as a P-51B or P-51C depending on where the plane was assembled. Nothing like flying a pro airplane, that Saito 4 stroke sound and balsa P-51B was sexy as hell, so realistic and flies like the real birds,love 'em as much as y'all do, take care guys😷

it flew like it was on rails in that crazy wind, what a great flyer..! you guys should put a pipe in the ground and make a wind sock pole that you can take out so that you can take it with you so no one can steal it.

P51 Mustang was armed with 6x 12.7mm heavy machine guns that fired incendiary armor piercing Ammo. Each gun had a 1000 round per minute rate of fire and usually all guns were aimed to converge on a roughly 25CM round target at roughy 275 meters just destroying everything at the convergence point including light and medium tanks. It also could carry rockets and had a 900 kilo bomb load.
The B models only had 4 x .50 caliber wing guns, it wasn't until the later D models started coming off the lines that they went to six, the earliest production of those had only four also and no dorsal fin. The ammo loaded depended on the mission, normally it was standard ball, with every 3rd or 6th round being a tracer. Some squadrons pulled the tracers and used only ball ammo. The .50 BMG is a great cartridge, but no magic wand against armor.

Saw the real P51s at an airshow 20 years ago at Edwards AFB (also B29s B52s F16s) awesome planes for the era! It also was my first and only poorboys (as an 11yr old boy) RC -- Cox P51 plastic 0.5m wingspan with a string...you flew in circles.

Great takeoff, great flight and great landing. The Saito 62 is my favourite engine . I have one in my Hangar 9 P51 red tailed Mustang. If I live to be 100 and still able to fly, I will always have a fourstroke in my planes. Well done and every success for the future.

Great flight guy's, A BIG SALUTE to Blaz!!!! I have the same model only older version, without flaps, in the Tuskegee Airmen scheme with an ASP .91 4 stroke. Very fast and flies wonderful, makes me look like I know how to fly. 2 wheel scale landings are so easy. Enjoy and you will find that you will want to fly this one a lot.. This is a classic! Vintage Petrincic brothers! I watched it twice! An absolutely beautiful plane, amazing flying from Cpt.Blaz in strong wind, and when the landing gear came down it was actually sensual! And funny as usual with Blaz on his knees after the perfect landing 😅 What a video 👍

Excellent video and superb flying and landing Captain Blaz. Beautiful plane too I might add. I started using the turnigy LiFe 2 cell which is 6.6 volts, pretty much all servos can handle 6.6v and they are light as a feather. Salute from USA gentlemen.
