I have seen Dead Moon lotsa times at Club Vera in Groningen. I will never forget Andrew Loomi in the Kelderbar drunk but being a nice guy. I`m 60 now and i still wish i could light the path that leads to a life of no mistakes. Forget it. No way. There is no such a path.
I was lucky to share a bottle of Champagne with Fred, Toodie and Andrew after a gig in Paris. I came to Toodie after the gig and just said : "I'm a fan, I would be proud to drink champagne with you Dead Moon to celebrate the birth of my first son". And that was it. They were such nice people and before all True Rockers and amazing performers.
I only ever saw them once, I still remember getting chills at this song. I just found out about Fred.😢 Rest well your lyrics and music are outstanding.
Toody, Fred, Andrew - how much I still love your energy, your rawness and humanity! Dead Moon Night forever!!! thanks for coming on tour so often to light up our days and nights!
I miss these guys, much respect to them for coming to the bottom of the world, i named one of my albums Candles in honor of the inspiration i got from 'Dead Moon'. I remember having a few warm ups with Andrew and he went on to play a killer set and then they all came back to the after party. Awesome times. They came a few times to New Plymouth and a had the privilege of their company a coulpe of times they were here.
Lyricss- It's okay You don't have to run and hide away It's okay We all seen better days It's okay It's okay Yeah we love you anyway For in those reckless moments when doubt is creeping in your head Feeling like you've lost your youth & the dreams you had are cold and dead I can't reach you anymore, that's gonna take a different man I can't protect you like before, you've slipped beyond my hands But it's okay (It's okay) You don't have to run and hide away It's okay (It's okay) We all seen better days It's okay (Yeah it's okay) Okay, okay, okay It's okay (Oh it's okay) We love you anyway I wish that I could light the path that leads to a life of no mistakes Hold you from the damned be done that living out of safety seems to take I remember still the child in you, as if only yesterday It was easy to break through, I only had to kiss the pain And it's okay (Yeah, it's okay) You don't have to run and hide away It's okay (It's okay) We all seen better days It's okay (Yeah it's okay) It's okay (Yeah it's okay) We love you anyway This is my chance, this is my life, & my opening hour This is my choice, this is my voice, there may be no tomorrow This is my plea, this is my need, this is my time for standing free This is my step, this is my depth, in a world demanding of me It's okay (It's okay) You don't have to run and hide away It's okay (Yeah, it's okay) We all seen better days It's okay (Oh, it's okay) Okay, okay, okay It's okay (Yeah, it's okay) We love you anyway It's okay (It's okay) We love you anyway It's okay (Yeah, it's okay) We love you anyway It's okay (Oh, it's okay) We love you anyway It's okay (Yeah, it's okay) We love you anyway
I saw them in 1997/98(?). They were opening for the Mono Men and Man Or Astro-Man? at Western Washington U. I knew local boys Mono Men, told about MOA?, but didn't know Dead Moon but was told just before the show when I ran into a friend they'd be the real highlight. He was so right.
It's definitely the best song of Love and Devotion so bloody good. I'm very fortunate to have seen DEADMOON many times and PIERCED ARROW once here in Aotearoa new zealand. I WISH THOSE THREE WONDERFUL PEOPLE WERE STILL HERE MAKING MUSIC FOR US
@@ReinaldoRootsi totally hear ya brother 😢 I've spent a few drunken nights partying to them and with them before and after shows here in Aotearoa new zealand they were a all for one and one for all group mixing it up with their people Not us and them Just US Humble decent friendly people and Fred with his big bottle of mouth wash to soothe his throat before playing. i asked him out in the carpark can i have a swig of whatever that is you just skulled and spat out thinking it must be strong as FARK ALCOHOL sure he said if you like Listerine mouthwash!!! Me 😵💫 W.T.F? Why Do you do That ( it was the first time they came to Aotearoa new zealand 1989/90) i had NO IDEA and when they played 54-40 or fight i knew why and i was HOOKED LINE AND SINKER didn't miss a show after that night they came here many many times
@@heathcornbeef wow, what a nice story. Thanks for sharing this nugget of information on what kind of person was Fred, a real rock n roll troubador. I love them so much. Dead Moon for life. thanks so much for your message. cheers from South America!
seen them live years ago in bavaria at a place called übersee, that means overseas in english, never been to the states, but i think, when i go first destinatiom would be portland,so many great music comes from this town, best band ever,if i have the chance to take one recording of a band with me on a lonely island,i twould always be the dead moon...always
I've lost count of how many times I've seen these guys here in Aotearoa new zealand and Peirced Arrow with STICKY FILTH opening for them FUCKING REALLY NICE PEOPLE and a GREAT BAND
Definitely Kelly Haliburton, but thank the gods that he filled in when Andrew could go on no longer. If you ever saw Pierced Arrow (who were great in their own right) they never (or perhaps only rarely) ever did Dead Moon material. This post-Andrew incarnation extended the time that we could continue to enjoy authentic Dead Moon experiences.

Lyricss-
It's okay
You don't have to run and hide away
It's okay
We all seen better days
It's okay
It's okay
Yeah we love you anyway
For in those reckless moments when doubt is creeping in your head
Feeling like you've lost your youth & the dreams you had are cold and dead
I can't reach you anymore, that's gonna take a different man
I can't protect you like before, you've slipped beyond my hands
But it's okay
(It's okay)
You don't have to run and hide away
It's okay
(It's okay)
We all seen better days
It's okay
(Yeah it's okay)
Okay, okay, okay
It's okay
(Oh it's okay)
We love you anyway
I wish that I could light the path that leads to a life of no mistakes
Hold you from the damned be done that living out of safety seems to take
I remember still the child in you, as if only yesterday
It was easy to break through, I only had to kiss the pain
And it's okay
(Yeah, it's okay)
You don't have to run and hide away
It's okay
(It's okay)
We all seen better days
It's okay
(Yeah it's okay)
It's okay
(Yeah it's okay)
We love you anyway
This is my chance, this is my life, & my opening hour
This is my choice, this is my voice, there may be no tomorrow
This is my plea, this is my need, this is my time for standing free
This is my step, this is my depth, in a world demanding of me
It's okay
(It's okay)
You don't have to run and hide away
It's okay
(Yeah, it's okay)
We all seen better days
It's okay
(Oh, it's okay)
Okay, okay, okay
It's okay
(Yeah, it's okay)
We love you anyway
It's okay
(It's okay)
We love you anyway
It's okay
(Yeah, it's okay)
We love you anyway
It's okay
(Oh, it's okay)
We love you anyway
It's okay
(Yeah, it's okay)
We love you anyway

That's a rad lineup
Maybe the best song ever.
I can't listen to it without watering the eyes. It's an amazing thing to be in love with a band.
