  • I like pallets - they're free! They do however take a tonne of time to get ready to work with. I needed something built quickly, so I spent 3 weeks building a cabinet from sheet material 😏
    This is my first cabinet! Follow along as I share my mistakes and successes. Full price breakdown at the end of the video.

    Nothing wrong with sparks in the motor of your mitre saw. It's a brushed motor so sparking is normal

    £43 🤣😂 once you realised you had spent £53 did you feel like you had been ripped off 😂🤪. You should have taken a close up picture of the doors when installed in the bathroom!

    Just finished my first cabinet doors about 4 hours ago. I had the same exact reaction when I did my dry fit.

    @steveo9578 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Working on my first cabinets (well, first ones with doors that go in the house at least), and I had that same reaction with my first door. I've mostly avoided making cabinets or anything that had to fit into a certain space up until now (you can just plop an end table down anywhere, doesn't really matter what exact size it is). Something very satisfying about getting things to fit just right though...
    Glad to see you back, keep it up!

    The sparks means your brushes might be on the way out, nothing "wrong" with it, theyre a part thats designed to wear out... if the wife askes though tell her youtube said its about to explode and you need to buy an extra nice one next time

    Great video. Whatever you do, do not go back and look at what you made in your first few videos! You have come a long way. You are now concerned about the width of the gap between the doors. You even made shaker styled doors. Well done, you! I hope the missus is on the mend as well. We need her wry sense of humor (or humour).

    "Look what I did!" That is 100% my reaction -- out loud, too -- when I get something to work when woodworking! (Glad to see ya back!) Just like you, I hear the "time is money" comment quite often. Here's my response to it: "I don't have the money, but I do have the time!"

      🤣🤣 I've always told myself I'm good with 'practical' things but in reality, I have no patience. So when you see me excited, it's real as I always bank on the outcome having a 50% chance of being firewood. Take care mate.

      It works sometimes! Would love to take you up on that offer one day. I was last in Portugal as a kid but visited the Azores a couple of years ago - one of the best holidays I've ever had. Love the Portugese attitude to food too - season it, grill it, enjoy with a beer!

    Loved the reaction when you made the door. You have every right to be proud when you make something good. Why did you not use a roller for the paint?

    • @justbswoodworking
      @justbswoodworking  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Still can't believe I got those doors first time. I did contemplate a roller but I've heard divided opinion about the finish you get from it. Saw a lot of people say use a roller then dry brush after. Do you get more success with a roller?

  • @TheWeekendWoodshop

    • @justbswoodworking
      @justbswoodworking  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Its from a company called Littlefairs. they have a website. It's about £20 a litre but I probably used 50ml for all the parts in this project. We tried a lot (as we're using it for all our skirts, frames etc.) and this was the best we found.

    on your cabinet doors the tongues were too short needed to be at least double what you had to make assembly easier and to provide greater glue surfaces to make the joint stronger
