But, as we delve deeper, we discover a major issue that might just change your mind about choosing Iryo over its competitor, Renfe. Join me as I share this trip report and rail review, and find out if Iryo truly is Spain's best operator.

Competition didn’t work in making train travel better and cheaper across the UK. As for price, there are deals to be had if you keep your eyes open. I’ve travelled to both Amsterdam and Paris a number of times and had no problem with cleanliness or seat comfort.
Thank you.
Good travel 😮 Can I ask you something about that? When you bought the train ticket in website, then at the train station in Lisbon, you showed the electronic ticket in office to validate or just went directly to the train. Thank you for you content 😊
Straight to the train. Just showed the ticket once checked on the train
@seekingtravel thank you for your help 💪🏻
i’m going to see them next weekend for the first time next week! did they do fireworks around the stadium when you went?
I hope they have a Eurostar from London to Berlin one of these days soon!
Oh that would be a dream!
It's not a grueling trip at all. I've done the same trip several times from Porto to Madrid and back with rede expresso, busses are comfortably and clean, stops regular on route to get food etc. It's a nice experience and not grueling
Enjoyable video, many thanks. We did this journey in 2014 on the IC train and really enjoyed it. We’re great fans of Lisbon and Porto, well Portugal in general (except the Algarve where we feel over-development has spoilt its beauty - well on the coast anyway).
Glad you enjoyed it :)
*the nice guy* has all the freedom to move the chair…bus the reality is that bus space is not very well designed ….😂
Before we even depart?
People were traveling for weeks years ago, nowadays 9 hours in a comfy bus is grueling :)))
Hahahaha you and I have different definitions of “comfy”
Porto and Madrid are linked by Ryanair, I just randomly checked dates at the end of this month and you can get a seat for $19, quite a steal. Flixbus is never a comfortable coach journey in Europe, in North America the legroom is better but South American long distance coaches top the list for me with semi-beds.
I love that....... grueling 9-hour journey..... Please that's a warm up in true grueling.... Rookie 😎🥃🌯
Ok 😉
Hi i have a question is there any need to buy ticket for air train rail from airport to train station or its free service
You definitely need a ticket.
hi there, it seems that it is not mandatory to book seats which cost additional. If for example, we do not book the seats and have a very long distance journey involving 24 hours or more., what happens with the seats allocation then? Does the driver allocate you the seat randomly when you show your ticket or it is that you are free to sit on those and allocated seats? It seems that on booking page some seats are always marked cross so I assume that those are the seats that have the option to sit randomly?correct me if this is not the case. they are advertising the panorama seeds in the booking page that cost six euros per person, however, from the structure of the bus which is single Decker bus the idea of panorama seat is confusing, because there is another seat ahead of you that is the driver seat, although below. How is the view from that seat is it really called panorama? And is it worth it to take for 24 hour journey?
It's really all up to Flixbus. If they allocate seats, you can usually buy them. But sometimes they just allocate you a seat themselves. If you book a ticket and your seat is not on it, it means usually that it's a first come first serve type of situation where you can sit on any available seat. I would personally never take it for 24 hours.
@ hi many thanks for your reply. In their app of the FlixBus, there is always an option to purchase a specific seat although there are cross on several of the seats, which means they are unavailable, and this is always the case and I guess that these are those seats, which are free to choose and also cost no extra. On the other hand if you want to select your specific seat, you have to pay some money. Usually it is three euros for a normal seat and six euros for panorama or table seats. By the way for 24 hours which seat you will suggest. Is Panorama really worth it? as I remember there was someone from TH-cam who bought a panorama seat only to found out that it is not panorama because there is an other row of seat ahead of it meant for the second driver and according to him Flixbus seating map does not show that which is true. Anyways, would you please suggest a comfortable seat option for 24 hour journey. The problem is that some stations, do not have toilets open as well. There are horrible reviews where FlixBus on both toilets are very, very dirty, smelly and uncleaned. Also, usually they do not have a lot of double-decker buses. Mostly, they have single decker buses. Don’t know why that’s the case though.
I like to think of the Glasgow Commuter Lines more like a metro system than a regional railway, although the service frequency says otherwise
I would to but Glasgow already has an actual metro (underground). So this differentiation can be made here.
@@seekingtravel even though it could be compared to the RER in Paris, except nowhere near the service frequency
Thank you. Very helpful for first time visitors
Very poor …..missing the upper bridge view of Ribeira and Douro River….😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
A veyrllm set abo about PortP Poteerr d d.😂😂😂
Excellent video, you have to go again, the line between Espinho and Gaia is finally completed so the trains no longer slow down, only at the Entroncamento they slow down now. Hug from Portugal
Thank you so much for the advice. I will definitely go back someday!
This Bus is going from Windermere to Grasmere not as the title states Grasmere to Windermere, stayed in Bowness on Windermere this summer and used this Bus Service regularily to get about the Lakes. You have missed the best bit from Windermere to Gramere with all the Mountains and Lakes it pases
Thank you! I had to get off there for the cruise I took in that next video!
@@seekingtravel I should of said Bowness on Windemere towards Grasmere, but you have missed out the best part of this Bus route from Windermere to Grasmere which is the best and most scenic part of this route through the Mountain valley's and past lakes, trvaelled on it stacks of times while on Holiday at Bownerss on Windermere for a week this summer
Woke nonsense and still a library
😂

I use the North Wales line from Manchester on SailRail to the ferry to Dublin from Holyhead when visiting family in Ireland, which I’ve been doing for 23 years - changing trains at Chester is a nightmare though
The toilet had no running water in the sink, but you still rated it 4/10?
I guess I’m more lenient :))) I also travel with a lot of disinfectant
I mean it doesn’t have the same lvl of comfort as an ice but its still a pretty cool train that runs on a well build network.
Hey, I loved it :) Both trains are awesome
I rode this train from Lisbon to Faro back in September 2022. One of the most comfortable travel experiences ever. Easy to relax and enjoy the scenery. I will never forget the green curtains. Train travel in Italy was also great.
I don’t mind video without commentary but hate hearing the chatter of people in the background Other than that a great video, thank you
Thanks for the feedback.
Sadly didn’t sat at the motor car
If you have just a bit more time and love to get some really nice Paris vibes do this on foot! It is only a 1:14 walk even passing the Bastille
Thank you lovely.
A few seats have power sockets. You just have to book the right seats. They are marked on the web site booking (but not on the app) It is the conductor that makes the announcements
Thanks for the answer.
Exactly. On the Intercidades cars, only about one-sixth of the seats have a power outlet.
Lovely video, I'm planning to do this journey! As a railway worker, I do have free travel on any railway company in Europe. 50% on Eurostar! Thank you for all the tips for this journey. Take care!!
What! I’m so envious right now haha. Thanks for sharing.
How far is to drive from London to Glasgow?
About 5-7 hours I would guess. Depending on how fast you drive :)
That's a shame you got the oldest train still working that line!
What do u mean no it’s good it’s nice to see an old train still working on these lines
1:15, this is Porto, not Lisbon, but these were the most beautiful aerial views from Lisbon I've seen. And I like the fact that you showed Lisbon in Winter time, with the rain, fog and dark clouds in the sky, different from all other showing sunny images, giving the impression we are a tropical country, which we're not. Thank you for visiting and filming my country!
Oups. And thank you. It was amazing!!
Thankyou so much, I did that Bus Tour in 2019 and loved it 😍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Serra de Monchique range is north of Lagos. What you passed was the Serra do Caldeirao range 😉
Thanks for the info!
Refurbished Is Better, But Nice Video!
Fair enough :D
An old, tired, noisy and clunky gem... It's a crap, that what it is. It's stopped in the 80's from last century. 🤮
New isn't always better. You do have AP for a more premium experience. The comfort was really good though
Aparece sempre uma ovelha ranhosa falando mal de tudo.
19:37 The line doesn't really get into Almada city. That's Santa Marta do Pinhal, which is a neighborhood of Corroios town, which belongs to a parish of the Seixal municipality named Corroios as well. I know this because I lived there for many years.
Where did you get the permits to film onboard the train and showing people?
Public space. You don't need permits.
@@seekingtravel This is Portugal, not UK or USA, so you need permit to film on public space when showing people to display on public space as YouTUbe. You also need permit from CP as you are showing their private property and permit from IP for showing their infrastructure. Sharing on TH-cam does not qualify as personal use. Just for your information. You might get luck and nobody cares about that, but you should ask permission/inform about filming before filming.
@@darkendemon4400 Don t be stupid, he can film whatever he wants in public as long the film is clearly not aimed at anyone.
@@darkendemon4400 🤣😂😂Besides being hilarious, your comment is just "parvo".
Just a quick note mate, the 5600 doesn't go up to 220km/h and yes 200, the only train that achieves 220 is the Alfa Pendular service with the FIAT / CPA4000.
The 5600 Siemens goes to 220 yes.
Maybe doesn't reach it, but it could, technically.
@@seekingtravel Just confirmed it by a photo of the speedometer. VMax red line on 220 Kmh and speedometer ends at 250 Kmh.
A 5600 locomotive does get to 220, however, a consist comprising of a 5600 locomotive and corail cars won't be able to go past 200 - because that's the speed limit of the corail cars.
@@josemiguelcosta6372 that is correct. They should make 220 corail cars too.
Great the backview to Ponte de 25 de Abril!
Glad you enjoyed it.
The British insist that their trains must have this that and the other do they are the best (even though the rails infrastructure is totally outdated and in dire need of work) but what people want and need train wise is something very similar to the Portuguese, comfortable enough, take people from a to b safely and affordable.
What do you know about what the British insist or not? If you don’t have anything to say just stfu… the f…..g nerve of these ignorant rednecks is astonishing
Sorry to quibble, but that was not a Restaurant Car on the train, it was a rather sad looking Cafeteria Car. Oh, how I remember that days of the beautiful Restaurant Car on the Sud Express from Lisboa - now that was a Restaurant Car. Thanks for the review of the Faro line, not the most scenic but still interesting. Cheers!
A Cafeteria Car doesn't really roll of the tongue :D
The cars are the old "Corail" french type, first built in 1975 but refurbished, of course.
think its an old TEE corail train from the 60s!
No, Corail type ! Corail means "COmfort + RAIL".
And since ermidas sado to Pragal station is Setúbal district....
