Currently halfway through my google cert (beginner) and definitely enjoying it so far. But now I'm thinking I'm gonna have to do that follow up advanced one if I want to land a really decent gig in the industry

@@alaoui2991 well It all depends on your background. What I can recommend you is to set the videos to 1.5. For me it has been 3 months already but I have never learned any kind of computer science before. If you are interested.... Do it!
Did you finish it and did you had prior experience in data analysis?
🤔 remember that data analyst is just a title. If you have had statistics classes or some exp with excel you are good. Try to set the videos at 1.5 speed. Try to fill the gaps with some other resources like TH-cam or websites like W3school. Good luck any other questions just ask.

Currently working through the "Google Data Analytics" one and find it not that compelling after soon being finished with it. I really do feel that the Microsoft one would be more handy with excel being more used and also Power BI.
Do you Lukas think it would be better to continue with the advanced Google certificate or maybe start the Microsoft one as I want to focus more on Power BI?

The advanced one focuses on Python. If you want to learn Power BI, focus on the Microsoft one :)
Dont waste your time and money in the power bi certificate, you can learn this by your own, my recomendation as data analyst is the advanced data analyst program from google or the IBM data Analyst certificate. Please watch some vídeos of Luke Barouse where he explains the hours of each matter inside each program and you will see thst the power bi program not worth it
How relevant will entry level data analyst jobs be today when a lot of IT companies outsource this role to AI?
Worst in what way?
Tasks like data cleaning, preliminary data analysis, generating reports, and even some predictive analytics are being handed over to AI. As AI takes over these routine tasks, the demand for entry-level data analysts doing these specific tasks might decrease. AI might also put pressure on entry-level salaries for tasks it can automate. If that happens who would want to work in an entry level position? And if you don't work in an entry level position, advancing to senior level would be much harder.

As a beginner, why not take the IBM and Google certificates to obtain an all around knowledge?
I'm currently finishing the Google certification and in my opinions it's not a bad course but isn't enough, in fact you won't learn the skills you need to get a job.

Certifications won't get you a job, your ability to articulate your technical knowledge in an interview will give you a chance.
