Personally I love barotrauma whether it decides to be nice to me or send a entire lacher at my ship filled with essentially noobs (including me). The others just wanted to give up which was quite a disappointing sight to behold. But there was one absolute unit of a man on board that ship, who was able get the ship out of the volcano single handedly and fix a lot of damage by himself. If it weren't for this kinds of lads, I definitely would have not gotten as far as I've gotten in the dark seas of Euroopa.
I agree! This is my favorite game of all time as far as I'm concerned. I think it's the type of game that you either love or hate ( and I think those who hate it simply haven't played with the right people, or have played alone with those stupid bots lol ). Thank you for the comment.

I definitely recommend it. I often compare it to Project Zomboid even though they're both different genres. Both are horror-themed, both have online multiplayer, both have crafting, both are hardly forgiving and deadly. One little mistake can completely turn the game upside down. Barotrauma however has a chaotic variable that Zomboid doesn't have, especially online. I guess that's why Barotrauma is my favorite - I laugh a lot while playing it with randoms. I used to think Zomboid was a niche game but it has recently exploded to become a very popular game. I hope Barotrauma follows the same path. It's on sale right now at 75% on Steam. They just released an update this week, there are some performance issues for some people it seems but usually they come up with a hotfix within a week to address the biggest problems after an update. I think the computer specs on the Steam store page should be updated. The required specs probably are just a bit higher than they indicate.
Hehe thanks. That would be sweet but I know Barotrauma is still a niche game at the moment, so I'm not sure if I'll get that many views. I don't really do it for views anyway, I do it for the laughs more than anything. Glad you enjoyed it!
i got this game for 2 friends 1 friend said it was terrible controls like wasd and mouse isnt used in every game and the other friend absolutley loves it
I get the same results with friends too. It's one of those games that you either love or hate. It has an adaptation and learning curve that can repel casual gamers or gamers who are used to very specific genres. It's a unique game as far as I'm concerned and that's why I make memes for it ( Space Station 13 is its spiritual daddy but it's still quite different in many aspects ). I think you need to see this game differently than others to really enjoy it, and you have to stop thinking about success or failure because it's more about the journey in-between. It's not an A to B game. It's similar to Project Zomboid I think.
100% agree couldnt have said it better its just one of thoes games where you wont find something similar like you said space station 13 or project zomboid its diffrent lots of diffrent mechanics and things you have to worry about barotrauma became one of me and my 1 friends fav game we alawys find time to play and enjoy the time were on our 3rd playthrough doing murder clown runs
Mate, as long as griefing has that surface scale, negative reviews have right, There is nothing undertown can do but to wait out for Kids and moraleless people to man up
Well, let me say this: Barotrauma is Space Station 13's spiritual successor and there's always been griefing in SS13, just like in any multiplayer game that allows players to create, modify and destroy things. I think griefing is not going away. However, the way I play Baro, I don't mind it. First of all, maybe it's because I've played this game a lot, but I can spot griefers very easily. Secondly, if your crew communicates well, the griefer's schemes won't go very far. So like I said; I don't mind griefers. I see them as the crazy murderer in sci-fi horror movies. And the most important thing: I don't see death as failure. It's all about the journey, just like real life. Maybe one day you will go out for a walk and you'll be attacked by a madman. Maybe it's unfair, but it happens. It's up to you and people around you to stop it. Remember: the griefer is alone and you are many. :)
Eh, if you struggle with griefers just turn off wiring and keep an eye on your equipment. I've been playing for so long that checking for griefs has become a part of sub maintenance for me.
Eh well griefing and traitor mode is the one way to make cargo hauling missions exciting tho. Singleplayer cargo hauling is child's play, but now if your sub has a few frustrating idiots, least you can rightfully detain or kill someone lol Play with friends or sumthin, everyone griefs and messes around time to time, but it should be possible to convince 'em to be serious every once in a while.
This is relatable. Also, I handle my noobs by playing campaigns with jovian radiation. They'll be forged in the hardest of fires.

Not a barotrauma player (yet) but as a fan of games with co-op elements and a skill curve I can sympathise.
