Its a small detail, but as someone who's been playing for a while, its so refreshing to see the unbridled creativity of people who are new to the game be wholeheartedly accepted!
He is loveable for that. He has done it often to try and help people learn. As long as they aren't wasting a move for the sake of a bit or it means other players don't get a fair chance, he'll at least discuss it. 😊

Jujube thinking she’s invisible the entire time is just so funny to me! Bobs immediate inclination for character detail, alaskas humor and ogre jaw, and Monets whole soul being invested in her family drama… I fricken LOVED every second and I need more! I’ve never played or even watched D&D and I’m 100% looking for a local group!

With all the bizarre things Twyla has been doing in this series (trying to eat the All Blossom, almost drinking from the River of Death, telling the worst possible lies, falling off magic carpets etc.), it makes it even funnier that *she* is the sole survivor of the Fey. How the hell did she survive that battle in the first place?! She can barely survive an episode
Brennen almost dug himself Into a hole with that Alvin the chipmunk voice. Had to make sure he killed the charachter off so they couldn't pull a Gilear and make him a main charachter.

Bob plays very uniquely, I noticed that they narrate what they are doing a lot, almost like the DM would. I think I like it and I don't think it breaks any rules.

I love how Brennan will ALWAYS answer a question, and never answer it with disdain or annoyance he never treats anyone as stupid for asking questions and its something I often model myself after, It is very compassionate and kind-hearted and it portrays patience and humility, just one of many parts of Humility, it's a touching gesture.
i had a dm who was a lot like brennan (funny enough their name is honey lol) for one of the firsts times i played dnd n it literally makes a world of a difference!!! it's so refreshing to see it too
I think to be a GM you need to have teacher-like qualities and patience. You have to enjoy teaching people and letting them obtain the knowledge so they can have as much fun as you do!
This group is legendary. Dnd isnt about the game, its about the characters. And these queens are exceptional character actors (even if they are just playing themselves) love it. Props to brennan as always for being a lovely goodball

Even the way he just roles with the bits, like during the exposition for Monet’s character, and he just slips into their little side conversation without any reaction, then continues. Comedic peaks.
The way Jujubee is full on really sobbing and Bob crying too; near the end of episode 4 is really touching, you can tell they were fully invested in the story

I absolutely love how Brennan is at guiding new players. It's not easy. I am a new player and tried playing with a friend group. Our friend really wanted us all to get into it, but he gave no guidance and seemed angry at what we all tried, but we weren't being outrageous. We were getting silver weapons because we realized we needed them and he was trying to make it impossible because he didn't want us to have them and wanted us to talk to a specific person, but wouldn't tell us that. He didn't limit what races people could choose from and then made it so certain party members stood out so much we couldn't get things done. It was so frustrating because he had moments that were great, but those moments were all part of the narrative. It would have been nice to have someone who explained everything so well and so patiently. Also, this cast is amazing! I love them all so much! They are so fun!
@@gappyconscience683 he was. He also picked the darkest storyline that was more advanced because he was used to playing, but I don't think he was used to being a DM. And we had a couple people in the group who didn't make it easy. I love playing with them as a player, but not so much as a DM.
This season ended up being the most beautiful, wholesome adventure. It was so much fun to watch these four discover D&D together, figure things out, and make a story together. They even figured out game strategy, like focusing fire and tracking enemy HP! So impressive. Knocked it out of the park again, D20!
I love how they exploited the terrain too! You really see them evolve as players in just 4 episodes, plus Brennan was so kind to them without being too lenient (making sure their do overs cost something). And Jujubee made me sob so much at the end.
I am tight on money, but I paid $5.99 to watch this entire series, and it is SO WORTH IT!! The story was amazing, hilarious, and heartwarming. I hope they make more seasons of Dungeons and Drag Queens ❤❤❤❤
I love how each of them has a very specific RP domain where they're incredibly efficient Monét: Maintains the mission that keeps the plot on track Bob: Secondary GM filling 60% of the flavor in the narration Alaska: Pieces together the plot with only two clues Jujubee: Actually follows through on an insane whim so brilliant it's instantly made canon
there is an interview where he talks about figuring out what to wear and (i think) it was bob who asked him, “well what would be your perfect drag? we’ve dressed as women but that doesn’t have to be yours” and that’s SO BEAUTIFUL

Reminds me of the meme that says something like, “If you don’t get dressed up and pretend to be a wizard at least once in a while, then are you really living?” I’m not part of the drag community, so this is based on nothing but the idea presented by that quote; maybe drag can be whatever we would choose to wear if we weren’t expected to follow certain social or cultural conventions about clothing. Like hey, if you want to wear ornate robes every so often, or as much as possible, simply because you can and it feels right, then that’s your drag.

I am kindly leaving a comment here to let Dropout know that this crossover was the BEST choice ever. Being new to D&D and learning in real time with the queens was such a lovely way to be introduced to the game. The limited episode run was also an amazing length for a new watcher. I’m almost done with the last episode and I really cannot thank the D20 team enough for this. The season truly couldn’t have been recorded and released at better times in history and you are doing the community and world at large an incredible service. Brennan embraced the queens so earnestly and all of the queens excelled at jumping into the world. I would love to see them all back for another season. I also wouldn’t mind seeing a show a la Vox Machina based on this season, with the cast returning to voice 👀
If i have to pick who is the most likely to evolve into a numbers-crunching optimizer at the group I will say its gonna be Alaska. She is the least likely to RP and she deduced what the wraith clasp did. She probably is gonna be the most analytical one of the group

@blammmed He tends to do a lot of urban fantasy on Dimension 20, e.g. Fantasy High, Unsleeping City, etc, and in general there's a lot of genre-hopping, so it's a little rare for him to be doing such straight ahead medieval high fantasy type stuff on the show

This is the first dnd campaign i’ve ever seen, but i can just tell this was fucking incredible and special. That dungeon master has a gift! Loved the way he weaved all their jokes into the story seamlessly and answered their questions while keeping the pace. The queens where hilarious and their different energies where so fun. Alaska was paying attention honey and Bob was into it!

I absolutely love how Brennan is at guiding new players. It's not easy. I am a new player and tried playing with a friend group. Our friend really wanted us all to get into it, but he gave no guidance and seemed angry at what we all tried, but we weren't being outrageous. We were getting silver weapons because we realized we needed them and he was trying to make it impossible because he didn't want us to have them and wanted us to talk to a specific person, but wouldn't tell us that. He didn't limit what races people could choose from and then made it so certain party members stood out so much we couldn't get things done.
It was so frustrating because he had moments that were great, but those moments were all part of the narrative.
It would have been nice to have someone who explained everything so well and so patiently. Also, this cast is amazing! I love them all so much! They are so fun!

@@gappyconscience683 he was. He also picked the darkest storyline that was more advanced because he was used to playing, but I don't think he was used to being a DM. And we had a couple people in the group who didn't make it easy. I love playing with them as a player, but not so much as a DM.

This season ended up being the most beautiful, wholesome adventure. It was so much fun to watch these four discover D&D together, figure things out, and make a story together. They even figured out game strategy, like focusing fire and tracking enemy HP! So impressive. Knocked it out of the park again, D20!
They were so good and enthusiastic and it was just absolutely wonderful ❤
I love how they exploited the terrain too! You really see them evolve as players in just 4 episodes, plus Brennan was so kind to them without being too lenient (making sure their do overs cost something). And Jujubee made me sob so much at the end.

there is an interview where he talks about figuring out what to wear and (i think) it was bob who asked him, “well what would be your perfect drag? we’ve dressed as women but that doesn’t have to be yours” and that’s SO BEAUTIFUL

I’m not part of the drag community, so this is based on nothing but the idea presented by that quote; maybe drag can be whatever we would choose to wear if we weren’t expected to follow certain social or cultural conventions about clothing. Like hey, if you want to wear ornate robes every so often, or as much as possible, simply because you can and it feels right, then that’s your drag.

Not to derail the conversation, but it also reminds me of a point I’d thought of regarding Christians, and their often prudish nature about the human body. What was the first sign the Bible says that their God recognized that Adam and Eve had sinned? It was that they’d covered their bodies. According to their book, their God wanted us to be naked, and humans continue to defy this by wearing clothes. 😆
I am kindly leaving a comment here to let Dropout know that this crossover was the BEST choice ever. Being new to D&D and learning in real time with the queens was such a lovely way to be introduced to the game. The limited episode run was also an amazing length for a new watcher. I’m almost done with the last episode and I really cannot thank the D20 team enough for this. The season truly couldn’t have been recorded and released at better times in history and you are doing the community and world at large an incredible service. Brennan embraced the queens so earnestly and all of the queens excelled at jumping into the world. I would love to see them all back for another season. I also wouldn’t mind seeing a show a la Vox Machina based on this season, with the cast returning to voice 👀

@blammmed He tends to do a lot of urban fantasy on Dimension 20, e.g. Fantasy High, Unsleeping City, etc, and in general there's a lot of genre-hopping, so it's a little rare for him to be doing such straight ahead medieval high fantasy type stuff on the show

This is the first dnd campaign i’ve ever seen, but i can just tell this was fucking incredible and special. That dungeon master has a gift! Loved the way he weaved all their jokes into the story seamlessly and answered their questions while keeping the pace. The queens where hilarious and their different energies where so fun. Alaska was paying attention honey and Bob was into it!
Brennan is widely agreed to be one of the best DM’s in the community, this is so exciting to see so many drag race fans enjoying really really high Caliber dnd for their first time!
