Question for the pod: some context though; i think the next year or two is when we really start to see Oregons recruiting in the last few cycles pay off. For my question: I think the playing as a true freshmen is always tough.. but who do you think is the true freshmen from this last recruiting class that has the best chance to play on both sides of the ball next year ? (Besides Dakorien Moore he’s a beast). My guesses are on offense is Vander Ploog because of depth with my sleeper pick Jordan Davidson and on defense it’s gotta be Offord or Finney. Thanks Spence
Question for the mailbag. I asked this question before the season started and now that it’s over what do you think Spencer? What defense was better this years defense, or 2019?
I say this with the upmost confidence! Andy avalos was the best defensive coordinator we had this past decade.. the physical nature we brought each game is what I liked about Andy defensive… Andy would run laps around Tosh
@@kenjonbarner3027 I’m definitely leaning 2019 as well. The secondary particularly the safeties were so much better in my opinion. The physicality that team has overall was better in my opinion. OL, LB… Don’t put all the blame on Tosh…this is Dans defense
@@Brandontheduck I don’t necessarily feel likes it’s all Dan’s defense because he’s in an admin role but the defense than Dan was calling at Georgie and the defense we have now are two different type of defense.. I feel like if Dan was more in tune with the defense like Kirby is with his defense , we would see a better approach but I think Dan let his coordinator call plays because he trust them
...to be honest, I'm still in some level of clinical depression after the 'loss'... im now trying to grab on grab onto something for 'next year'... I'm a season ticket holder, who is still on the fence moving forward. ... Keep giving us hope Spencer! Btw, how dare William Howard give US the 'Gladiator thumbs down'.. Uhgg... we need redemption!
Like I said before with the schedule we have this year even if they not starting let the young kids get in the game our hardest game of the year next season is penn st
Ducks bring in some transfers. Some fans: "Why aren't we giving younger guys a chance?!?" Ducks don't bring in any transfers. Some (likely the same) fans: "Why don't the Ducks bring in any transfers?!?" 😆 I say trust in Lanning and the staff. They're getting paid for all this, they know what's going on far better than any of us.
This coaching staff struggles to "coach up" and develop the talent that they already have or had in house. Players sense this. This results in mediocre play on the field. Can you imagine Coach Riley being able to really inspire, fire up and/or motivate players before or during the game???? Based on the public demeaner of this coach, I can confidently say: "PROBABLY NOT". This poor leadership results in play that is not up to its potential, not genuinely fired up and shallowly motivated. Wish it could be different. Doesn't seem to be. :( Riley is probably more suited to be an Offensive Coordinator,,,,,,maybe.
DLine is pretty solid next year. Matayo and tuioti on the edge plus the guys that developed like Rushing. Interior we have Washington and Bear. Breland also got time in the rose bowl. Not too concerned there tbh
What's the truth??? It's USC, they are the true trendsetters of college football. To me nobody knows real talent but USC. USC doesn't have to go by what ESPN or these lying sports agencies claim are top 4 and 5 stars. USC does its own evaluations on its recruiting when it comes to talent. Now Oregon has recruited all kinds of so called ESPN and what the these sports agencies called top talent but the truth talent finder is USC. It's why if you notice everyone Chase our recruiting. You would think out of all of the money that Phil Knight has spent. Oregon wouldn't need to tamper and over pay for a line men yet here are. At USC we don't over pay for our talent and we train him up to where he at. It just lets you know that Oregon can't make it's player than there natural talent. At USC we just move on and get another star replacement, because like it said we know talent and isn't hard for USC to find but we aren't going to over pay for it. This USC and you will get paid what your worth but if not good luck son, fight on!!!!
@weldshop8499 oh yeah we sure did but didn't you guys go undefeated to only than get out coached and stomped out and how many Phil Knight national championships and hesimen and Hall game guys do you have??? I would worry if I were you, for you live off the coast of California and UCLA and USC are trending in a upward formation and then your on food stamps and will need our assistance!!! Be careful who you stab in the back, of you already have done that. Last year we and now over paying for an offensive line man!!!! Like that's going to give a national championship!!! Lol, you need a real coach, Dan Lanning might be from the SEC but he can't coach!!! He's been at Oregon how long and how much money has Phil Knight spent on him and didn't he inherited a good roster from Mario!!!!
Imagine saying your team develops and gets worse every year. 11-1, 7-5, 6-6. You can’t be serious right now. USC lost to Maryland 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. Y’all aren’t any close to Oregon and Notre dame and also a middle of the pack B1G team. Seeing USC on the schedule is literally just a bye week for teams like Ohio state and Oregon.
Are you talking trash after losing to Washington, Maryland, Minnesota, Penn, ND, and Michigan this year? You lost more games this year than we've lost in the past 3. Go sit in your corner and think about the trajectory of your program (it's downward) 😅
I think one thing Oregon needs to do better is play the flats while also making sure deep coverage is good, the defense has trouble multi-tasking
Agreed
Yea it's either one or the other. It was never both. @@Kenuel-Chavis

If they’re paying him all that $$ there ain’t no way he’s not starting ahah

Yay for the younger guys to play. I'm excited for this. They will do well. Amare Washington is good.
I am referring to the USC staff so that there is no misunderstanding. :)
Need another safety and a solid lockdown db, maybe the freshman make an impact. Interior d line could use another guy

This is a huge get for the Ducks and a stunning loss by USC who continue to lose players in the portal

Jokingly: if your D line is awful, at least your secondary doesn't get thrown on!

Ah we went undefeated in regular season. Lost to eventual winner. OcSU will beat ND pretty easily.
According to your logic. We should loose to OSU they had more talent then any other team this year.
I was hoping Caldwell would stay. The needs at DLine are sort of overwhelming. We need the Freshman to play and at least 1 interior limeman
DLine is pretty solid next year. Matayo and tuioti on the edge plus the guys that developed like Rushing. Interior we have Washington and Bear. Breland also got time in the rose bowl. Not too concerned there tbh
@ We have Matayo who was amazing and the rest are unproven.. we will don’t have the depth which cost us during the season
@kjwolfgramm I feel that Breland will get playing time, hopefully more this coming year. I agree the defense is good.
@ rushing and Johnson also

U did in early 2000s. USC has cheated in PAC 12 all the time. Ah do u Remember Pete Carrol. Dah. U may want to look at history b 4 u pop off.
