Oregon is set up well to handle a youth movement at the quarterback position. I'd like to see them table portaling in another QB until after this season. Ideally, they should: (1) prioritize developing the quarterbacks already on the roster, and (2) incentivize the loser of (presumably) Dante Moore vs Austin Novosad to stick with the team and serve QB2 duties AT LEAST through till the end of the 2025 season, playoffs included. If, by that time, it's looking like the better of Jaron-Keawe Sagopolutele vs Akili Smith isn't yet tracking to be ready for the QB2 gig in 2026, then Novosad/Moore could be brought back for another championship run at the backup spot-which I'm sure either would be more than happy to do if he were, ahem, adequately ... incentivized. Beyond whatever financial remuneration may be involved, Danno and Division Street (if they so desired) could also plan for the outgoing QB to be at or near the top of the transfer market by the end of 2026 season and then execute that plan across the next two years. I'm very confident that a 1-2 crew of Moore-Novosad (or vice versa) collectively possesses the physical talent and competitive makeup needed to lead an elsewise complete roster into championship contention across a two-year window-provided said duo are properly developed and maximized, à la Bo Nix and Dillon Gabriel. And, in the contingency that either JKS or Smith (presumably) shows to be on pace for QB2 by 2026 spring ball, Oregon could follow through by hooking up the outgoing Novosad/Moore with that prime transfer opportunity they've all been working on together for years. Continuing to turn to outside guns-for-hire as the go-to progrum solution could set up a dependency in which the dedicated development of existing quarterback talent is de-emphasized. Lanning surely knows this, and he also surely knows that he won't have to rely on the portal for filling the void of a suddenly departing Novosad or Moore if he completes Steps 1 and 2 above.

For the Will Stein thing, I personally don’t like his play calling. I get it. The Ducks are #1 and favored to win the whole thing with him at OC. However, when we lack explosives and trick plays and play action, it becomes predictable with the laterals and screen passes and check downs. Defenses know that, generally speaking, that Oregon won’t throw the ball down the field. So they look to the outside for the pass and usually results in a tackle for loss. So I think Will Stein needs to reinvent his play book a little bit and allow for more QB freedom so to speak. Allow for the deep pass. Allow for the QB sneak. @ im going off the eye test. Like physically watching the games. Defenses are ready for some of our play calls because of how predictable they are. But I do think he needs to expand it a bit so it becomes less predictable. During the Penn State game, they even said Oregon was last or second to last in the conference is air yards. Just saw a list of top 9 NIL Teams and Oregon's not on that list.
And yet accused us of buying a championship 🤣🤣🤣🤣
On the NIL front.. look at Texas AM under Jimbo. Good players sure. Absolute dumpster fire on the field. Or Miami and Mario the numbskull. He had the best QB in the nation and couldn't even make a conference title appearance in the ACC. It takes more than good players.
Omg we had such amazing sucess for 3 years with transfers, there's no reason to even think it's possible to do it for a 4th.
Y'all are dumb if you think oregon won't bring in the #1 transfer qb this cycle 🤣
Next year is a lot of travel.
I dont get the Mateer hype
Quinn Ewers?
He is trash
Dillion "the big dill" Gabriel
Did you notice 2025-2026 schedule! We’re going to Penn State again? Why. Something smells.
Oregon did not play PSU in State College, PA.
The CCG was in Indianapolis, IN.
Spencer you are kinda dropping the ball here. He did fairly well as an 18 year old freshman on a UCLA team with a rancid stank excuse for an Offensive line and looks like a 1st round draft pick at this point with 18 months under Will Stein. Seriously you will look kinda "dumb" for that take next fall.
