A great thanks to you Kevin. I was strugling to understand how to modify my nextstar 8E in order to catch good pictures. I really appreciate how celestron is willing to provide assistance to its customers.
Really good video, I've looked at a lot of videos about camera mounting and this was the best. But doesn't it seem like someone behind the camera has a gun pointed at him?
Still getting used to the Celestron nextstar 8SE and already ordered few additional, barrel lens and piggyback for my Canon 750D. I like to get into the astrophotography.
You forgot to mention that you can also mount a CCT camera to the rear end of your scop and multi image from there usingnthevstakingbmethod you spoke of This gives you some nice big pictures with plenty of detail once you have sorted out focusing. I have a special CCT modified camera that can now gather light, the only thing I have problems with is the fact that all photos arevsubject to pixilstion where as a standard SLR camera with 35mm film gets overvthis problem, but these days you will have to search a bit for good quality film with the right speed rating forvwhatvyou are doing. I have found that there is so much to learn that I do not think you will ever jnow half if it, butnit is worth sticking with.
Nice, quick and practical explanation. I love the little 6SE. I want one! The Hyperstar lenses are expensive for it though, nearly as much as the 6SE itself! looking for a nice CCD camera. Anyone have any ideas on the Neximage Burst versus the Neximage 5? Also, what about eyepiece projection imaging - do you have a video on that?
I did not know you have these adapters available for point and shoot cams and I am not in the market for a DSLR which I knew you had adapter for. I am constantly trying to line things up manually with the point and shoot. Always felt kind of foolish but is always so tempting to try and get one good shot. Great info and def getting one!
Very nice! I always wanted to see how the fastar thing works. I am too timid to take mine off just to see. A couple of things you could have mentioned about the digiscoping. One is that it is made for thin point-and-shoot cameras like the one in this video. You can't attach a large camcorder. The other is that if you get the 2" one that fits the spotting scope (like in this video) it won't adjust small enough to clamp onto most 1.25" eyepieces. In other words, there are two different sizes.
Thank you a lot, I was wondering about how to attached my dslr on the Celestron CPC. Can I use un Canon 6D full frame with this model of Celectron (CPC) ?
Hello Celestron, I'm browsing and reading a lot about your products but I don't usually feel satisfy with the information I can gather in forums, in your official website or here in TH-cam and I would like to know if you took the galaxy image at 7:21 with that telescope and this camera setup? I'm looking forward to start studying the sky so I'm asking for your help to see if will purchase your product. Thank you.
hey there. regarding the tring for a camera and tring adapter. does the tring/tring adapter fit any telescope? i.e. i have a canon eosr and planning to get a Celestron Nexstrar 80GT. if i get a tring/tring adapter for my eosr, would it fit the camera or is there something else i need to purchase?
thank you for this video. i have a celestron spotting scope and a Canon eos adapter ring. the camera shop (where i was looking at eos cameras) said it wouldn't work, because the camera has electrical connections that communicate with the lens. thus it wouldnt work w/o a canon (or like) lens. is this correct? or do they just not know what they are talking about?
What are the telescopes used in this video? Also I own a SLT102 but the computer isn’t working so I use it manual is there any good photo methods that attach or could be used for now? I am just holding my phone to the lease. I got some cool Neowise pictures tonight though.
Hi,I'm a beginner in astronomy, so I have a question about the Celestron nexstar 127 SLT scope, how is possible to connect any crayford focuser to this scope?
Hi, I'm interested in the Celestron Ultima 100mm spotting scope for attaching my Nikon D610. I know I need a Nikon T ring but is there anything else I need to buy to attach my camera to the eyepiece? Thanks in advance.
Can I attache Canon 70D with 100-400 MM EF IS II lens using Piggyback Adopter ? I am Using Celestron CPC 800 GPS telescope. i.e can this telescope and adopter; take weight of camera and lens (Approx 2.25 kg) ?
I'm wanting to get into Astro Imaging and currently saving for a new scope, I was hoping to buy the Orange Celestron 8"SE, however, seems I'll have to wait for the price to come down or a secondhand one, my budget for this scope is only a £1000, then I've a camera to save for,... never ending. WOuld you happen to know the best place to buy used Telescopes 8" or 10" goto scope, I'm UK Based.
I bought a Celestine 65 scouting scope and the slide mount for my handycam camcorder I put it all together and I can't get anything out of it as zoom in it just gets blurry and black I am a private investigator and I'm trying to set up for long range daytime video please help thank you Bob
I have had my clestron nextstar 6se for nearly 12 months now and i have not been able to get the tracking to work, i have tried every align method and always get align failed message, i have updated the firmware in the hand controller and still nothing, i'm at my wits end with this, any help would be much appreciated, very helpful video btw
Very cool, that's the stuff I want to do with my first telescope. I'm thinking of getting an Astromaster 114EQ for my first telescope. If I wanted to get the next level which one do you "celestron" recommend I look at?
Hello Celestron team! I saw at the end of the video you kept the cpc's ota at down position. I have a cpc 800 edge hd and some guys in Brazil says the mirror maybe can slide down if you transport it. Is it true? My equipment has a feather touch focuser Thanks
The primary mirror on the CPC Deluxe 800 HD will not slide down the baffle tube and is transported in the downward position in it’s shipping box. However, if you changed the focuser (which he did) we cannot guarantee a mishap will not occur.
lol good luck doing this with a equatorial telescope like the 80eq I've had issues with weight at the back of the telescope making me lose the object in the sky I'm looking at. I'm thinking about getting a different mount for my 80eq
How do you increase the size of an object ? Lets say you want to take a picture of M31. How can I zoom in using a DSLR camera ? I guess its not possible if the camera is being attached as shown at 07:09 minutes right ? I guess in this case I will be only able to take a picture of the whole night sky ? but not able to zoom in ?
Thank you for the video. Very helpful. Is the T-adapter and the T-Ring (Nikon is my dslr) the same for the 8" Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope - Advanced VX as it is for the Nexstar 8se?
Hi Jerry, the optical tube for both of these setups are the same, so the T-Adapter would be the same. The T-Ring is based on your camera, so this could change depending on what you have.
we have a telescope specifically made for this, it is our inspire series. Our other scope yet have this capability. There are 3rd party smartphone adapters for you telescope but since they are not made for the telescope, they may be a bit off
Very helpful video. Thanks. Is it just me or did it look like he attached the digital camera for digiscoping backwards? From the video camera angle it looked like the display screen of the digicam was facing the telescope, rather than the lens. ;-)
I have a budget around 2000-3000 USD max. I need a lightweight portable high reso (min 8 inch aperture) telescope, with which I can take both planetary objects (including clear rings of Saturn) and deepsky astrophotography (andromeda galaxy, nebulae, star clusters etc). I want to use my Nikon D750 and be able to achieve it. Can you please advise the best telescope for this purpose.
Celestron Evolution. Id probably go for the 9.25 inch so you have room for adding accessories and a decent aperture. If you want a good, automatic imaging system, the Evolution Edge hd is a good 8" SCT with all the essential accessories added to the package. Both telescopes are under 50 lbs fully assembled and cost from $2199 - $2400 I personally have a CPC deluxe hd 8" and it is a bit more expensive, but it is rock solid and weighs 70lbs. Go for the CPC class if you want it to last. Hope this helps :)
This reply is a bit late - sorry Hyperstar is the method of using the primary mirror (back of SCT) to capture very wide field and fast images. This means that the light coming from the objects doesn't have to travel as long from the corrector plate (front lens) to the camera sensor (Probably around 400mm for an 8" SCT). However, for the DSLR mounted on the rear of the telescope, the light has to reflect over 2000mm to get the the sensor, meaning that long exposure imaging is needed for a clear and crisp image. "Fast" is used to show a shorter focal length ("F" in this case) Hope this helped :)
I have a Celestron Astromaster 114. How can I attach my DSLR(Nikon D3200) to this telescope? I have heard that focusing is an issue with these types of telescopes.
i am new to telescopes but i notice most high magnification shoots looks like they have been taken with an inch of water on the telescopes. i have read it's do to the atmosphere and on the bigger telescopes they are using manipulated mirrors witch costs way more then most can afford.would not a bunch of small cameras at the eye piece do the same thing but be cost effective? just like the usa surveillance drones have. then the telescope would be self correcting not for the complete field of view witch no camera can do but if broken down in to many sections you would have a lot better view/shoot
Attaching DSLR to the nexstar 5SE doesn't work. I find the the slew motors are unable to handle the weight... is there a fix for this..? (incidentally I bought the advanced VX mount anyway.. so problem solved) but would be nice to know what cameras to use on the 5SE, I guess the webcam is the answer..
CELESTRON!!!! I'm thinking of using your 127EQ PowerSeeker with my Nikon D5200 to photograph the upcoming solar eclipse. But how in the high hell do I mount my Nikon to the telescope!?
Does the size of the viewfinder on the camera make any difference ? I notice it's small on the Canon Rebel T5, the camera I'm thinking about purchasing for my endeavor into Astrophotography...
I have a major issue, 2 years ago I bought the first series of CCDs or Soral imagers. I have vever gotten it to work Properly. I noticed you attached it to the bottom on one and the top of the other. I have a Meade 16: Lightbridge. Were in hell does it go. Before I by another adapter for my DSL Camera. I'd like to see them in real time and click.!😟

A great thanks to you Kevin. I was strugling to understand how to modify my nextstar 8E in order to catch good pictures. I really appreciate how celestron is willing to provide assistance to its customers.
Excellent introduction to astrophotography and all the ways to do it. Exactly what I needed, thank you.
As someone just starting to poke around the subject of astrophotography this was most informative. thanks
Could you please rank mentioned methods by result image quality from lowest to highest ?
Really good video, I've looked at a lot of videos about camera mounting and this was the best. But doesn't it seem like someone behind the camera has a gun pointed at him?
Well done! I didn't expect the video would cover even Fast Star.
Still getting used to the Celestron nextstar 8SE and already ordered few additional, barrel lens and piggyback for my Canon 750D.

Thank you. Great beginner's lesson. Now I have a better understanding of astrophotography with a Celestron telescope.
Really nice video. I got here from Tring Astronomy Centre website in the UK. I hope to get something Celestron soon for astro-photography!
Genuinely helpful and instructive! Thank you!

Thanks! That WAS useful :) I have a clear idea of the kind of attachment I need to get. I have a point-and-shoot as well as a DSLR.
Great video, Kevin would make a great spokesman for Celestron, if he is not already.
Thanks for the great vid. Looking forward to doing some fast star photography
Very nice! I always wanted to see how the fastar thing works. I am too timid to take mine off just to see.

Would be nice a video about how to do a polar alignment using Celestron’s wedge and a CPC 800.
finally someone showing how pictures look like with the prime focus method.
Thank you a lot, I was wondering about how to attached my dslr on the Celestron CPC. Can I use un Canon 6D full frame with this model of Celectron (CPC) ?

hey, I'm looking forward to buy the "Celestron 21036 Powerseeker 70Az" Telescope for my Nikon DSLR 5300. Should I buy it for this camera?
08:39 Hyperstar!!! Go Dean @Starizona!!!!! I love mine!!!
hey there. regarding the tring for a camera and tring adapter. does the tring/tring adapter fit any telescope? i.e. i have a canon eosr and planning to get a Celestron Nexstrar 80GT. if i get a tring/tring adapter for my eosr, would it fit the camera or is there something else i need to purchase?

Hi,I'm a beginner in astronomy, so I have a question about the Celestron nexstar 127 SLT scope, how is possible to connect any crayford focuser to this scope?
Hello, if I buy this model and in the future apply the wedege, we have same performance of an eq mount for deepsky imaging?
Awesome vid. Thanks for the info!

Great video as always , so i ask you does the HyperStar fit on a NexStar 8 Evolution?
i started using a 80 LCM telescope, i want to use my canon DSLR, what T2 adaptor do i need? (all the parts..)

I don't have that "hole" on the back of the telescope tube, how would I use the T ring and adapter method?
Hi, does the Skyprodigy 6 suport my Canon 6D? Or is it better to use a 5Mp webcam?
Hello friend! How do is use my Nikon p1000 with my celestron nexstar 5se?
I have astromaster 130az . What do you recommend me for taking nice image?
What will I need to attach a Nikon D7200 to a Celestron C5 are C90 they both have thread eyepieces.
Thanks for making this video how much are the price on these instruments? Or total investment for the entire package??
Is there any way I can mount a compact camera (Nikon Coolpix P600) onto a telescope? Or is possible only with DSLR and CCD cameras?
Very informative easily explained cheers
Does Celestron have an easier to understand how to use the wedge for EQ alignment?
Will the universal adapter (that you showed in the beginning to attach a point-and-shoot) fit into any telescope? Mine is not Celestron. Thanks.
Yes it will

great video. Many thanks.
With the webcam do you just attach an eyepiece to it and then attach it to the telescope? Will this work for non celestron scopes?
Roman Mellado Nice video Pls watch my video i have just bought a 60mm telescope have a look i m sure u will like it just have a look. thanks
Amazing "Begginner's Session"! Thanks!

Hello,
Newbie question: why is the hyperstar faster than DSLR? Meaning, the F2 is given by lens (telescope in this case) or isn't it?
This reply is a bit late - sorry
Hyperstar is the method of using the primary mirror (back of SCT) to capture very wide field and fast images. This means that the light coming from the objects doesn't have to travel as long from the corrector plate (front lens) to the camera sensor (Probably around 400mm for an 8" SCT). Great video! Also great for non-Celestron equipment :D
do i need t-adapter and t-ring to mount my camera to my calestron spotting scope or do i just need t-ring adapter?

What does putting a 2x Barlow do to the Fstop?
Very informative
great video thanks !
Finally something I can subscribe to that's going to be worth while! yes!
Very informative. Thank you.

Which one is good for the 102gt??
I have a Canon Rebel II. Can it be used in Astrophotography? It is not DSLR.(...it's at least 10 years old...)
Noob....
I have a Sure Shot Digital ...same question...
Does the size of the viewfinder on the camera make any difference ? I notice it's small on the Canon Rebel T5, the camera I'm thinking about purchasing for my endeavor into Astrophotography...
How do I attach a Sony a6000 to my Celestron 6se?
If you find the right adapter for your camera and telescope, can you use those on absolutley any telescope? :)
Yes, you can.
Hi Michael, I would recommend that you reach out to our technical support team so that they can further assist you with your device. mail@celestronsupport.com
Celestron I'll retry it. My Observatory goes up in Feb. Added it to back of garage and roof. I would like to not have to buy a new Digital but will.
umm.. anyone know any tips to create a telescope out of pvc? really would like to get the lenses and stick them inside
