    38:11 there's something uniquely comedic about watching this chad Ghost gutting Dark's last mining base, only to turn around and get run over by 20 banelings, his screams of pain and horror abruptly cut off by a camera change

    God that broodlord micro trick looks so cool but it seems like it barely does any damage for the work takes. If it wasnt for the siege tanks, i think it barely does damage to whats in front.
    Edit: the yanks into the army of broodlings though seems worth it
    Edit 2: alright, towards the ending i am convinced I should try broodling micro-ing now.

    • @Broockle
      @Broockle 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I was mostly watching for the standoff between the yoinks and the snipes keeping each other at bay 😆
      BLs deal damage on attack and the broodling nibble is just extra dps that does comparatively little I think. Siegetank friendly fire I think has more value than the nibble 😅
      They don't live long either so if they have to waddle to the enemy they'll hardly get anything done with 1/3 of their time left, insane micro for very little return value. Really only got a hellbat or half a tank at a time.
      Crazy he got to do that, it felt like both of them were tunnel visioning hard on that bridge there.

    • @MrGeorgeFlorcus
      @MrGeorgeFlorcus 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      It's definitely not worth it if there's an active game going on, but when there's a total stalemate and the map is mined out, for the sake of drawing fire, distracting the opponent, using up medivac energy, and costing some amount of minerals and gas in repairs, it's worth it for the literally nothing it costs you.

      @@MrGeorgeFlorcus and also dislodging a Terran by any other means is kind of suicidal.

      @@Broockle Was thinking about something like that hours ago watching PiG and what came out was a baneling upgrade I'll call cohesion. Basically it's a manual -say hotkey C- detonate near your own units that grants four or less seconds of spell damage reduction like an inverted anti-armor missile. Cause having such an ability tied to a mana pool would be broken, the costly short range burp to save drones or two lurkers from storm felt okay. The APM cost to chain this felt like a good tax as well.

      mmmm 99% of players dun have the apm for this. 😆
      I'd want it to be less niche
      How would you even micro the banelings to stick with the Ultras? I think even pro-players would have trouble using this.
      And I can't even imagine how you would save your workers with this.
      If someone puts a storm on your whole army and banes are in it there's some use but that's basically the end of it.
      I was thinking more of a permanent upgrade for Ultras that makes them less susceptible to spell damage. If you had to activate a spell shield on them.... I mean that would make it a lot weaker already. Even that would become borderline useless to the vast majority of players.

    ...they do know that liberators can attack air right? they are actually rather quite good at it, pretty much the best at it really when it comes to large numbers fighting large numbers.
    I mean, you'd imagine that a collection of the best players in the world would know the basic mechanics of the game but some things you see in pro games make you legitimately wonder, like watching as a dozen-odd vikings hover over the last remaining buildings of an opponent slowly dying one by one to a single remaining stalker while the terran player tries to maneuver them into the way of their opponent clicking on their last couple marines then GGing out when those die
    ^landed vikings and stalkers have the same range, similar health, and similar damage per shot against eachother but while stalkers have a bit more health vikings fire over twice as fast. vikings _slaughter_ stalkers in a straight up fight let alone when the stalker can't afford to retreat and yet I've seen pretty much that exact scenario on multiple occasions, it is truly bizzare when one of the best players in the world looses a game from a situation where their opponent would have literally no possible way to win against the casual AI.

    • @curtishsiung5979
      @curtishsiung5979 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      He could have tried. It would've been fun to see, but I don't think it would've made much difference. Those liberators have no chance of getting closer (range 5 vs range 10 of broods) because of the vipers and infestors. Plus, libs air dmg is too inconsequential against the 225 health + 4 armor (full upgrade). Libs attack at 8 * 2 AoE, but armor takes it down to 4 * 2 = 8. 8 dmg at 5 range, at 1.29 atk cooldown, even considering AoE will not do much.

    Just realised the game is slowed down
    Normal Starcraft goes a little bit faster than real time (including versus), and yet 44 minutes in the times are even
    So everything happening in that entire game was harder for both sides to pull off (and a little Exagerative of how long it took)

      investment cost. those resources are generally needed to pump the rax and factory for most builds sinking more than 2 banshees is very risky. Florencio does do a 6 banshee/mass banshee build though. Banshees are very easy to kill glass cannon type unit. They need very good control to make them work

      Inability to build techlabs on starport it seems.

    • @Draeckon
      @Draeckon ปีที่แล้ว

      Because that would mean switching the starport over to a techlab to build a single unit, which would be very inefficient timewise and slow everything else down. Sure you could build it after the banshees, assuming you go that route, but again, that slows down everything after it - and in high level, pro matches, every second counts.

    • @Johnny-Joseph
      @Johnny-Joseph ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Draeckon No it's not a time issue, I'm only mid-masters so take it with a grain of salt. You can easily find the time once medivac production ceases, the starport becomes a dead asset in the midgame if you're not forced into aircontrol for the rare Broadford corruptor comp, and even then you need raven at that point. It's a change in comfort which is the cause, a reluctance for a capability modifier that protoss and zero players embrace.
