  • This video shows how to set up and mesh periodic boundaries using Ansys Fluent Meshing Watertight Geometry Workflow. You can download Ansys Student for free, here. Download the files here to follow the video step-by-step.
The Watertight Geometry Workflow in Ansys Fluent Meshing is a guided workflow designed to quickly mesh any clean watertight geometry. The guided workflow directs a user through a step-by-step process of simple, intuitive inputs. Behind the scenes, Fluent Meshing uses built-in intelligence and automation to create a high-quality CFD mesh.
In this video, we learn how to use the Set Up Periodic Boundaries task in the Watertight Geometry Workflow. Using a hands-on example, we will analyze the different options in the task inputs panel and understand their effects on the surface mesh.

Hi, can you also do one for the fault tolerant meshing workflow? there was not enough info in the manual on how periodic bc are made. thank you.

2019R2 doesn't show "Set up periodic boundaries", but "setup rotational periodic boundaries". Not sure, why is that not available like above shown in @2:26

Error: Periodicity could not be automatically calculated. The selections that you provided are non-planar. Use Manual option
Error Object: #f what is the reason for this
