Hi! Very helpful tutorial! I wanted to know more about how to improve the mesh in terms of skewness and orthogonality. Hopefully you could provide a tutorial on this as well, thanks!

Additionally, if I use poly-hexcore as in the video, how do I know if the orthogonality of my mesh is good? What value should I aim for?

At 43:01 the minimum quality is 0.11, how can we refine that! Also for next videos if you go through skewness and orthogonal quality individually, we can see how good the mesh quality is and how it can be improved. Secondly, by looking at polyhedral mesh we can see compromise at the orthogonality, so, are there limitations to application of some turbulence models because of low orthogonality?
Thanks and keep up the good work!

We will cover mesh refinement and compliance with mesh quality in a future AVA. The purpose of this AVA was to highlight the ease of use of this task-based workflow, hence mesh quality wasn't prioritized. Thank you for the feedback! Snigdha Sarkar | KETIV | Applications Engineer

Say you make a mutlibody part in Design Modeler, you arive to Fluent, and you'd like to setup boundary conditions, in the BC tab. There will be listed several entities, each belonging to a separate body of a multibody part, that belong to a same boundary named selection (face), say outlet. Is there a way to merge them and prescribe the boundary condition over the whole face rather than separately? Thanks

Great tutorial. One quick question: what is the advantage of using poly-hexcore mesh compared to all poly mesh? Thanks.

      Hello Ran,
Our Ansys partners answer this question best. Please take a look here:
      www.ansys.com/products/fluids/ansys-fluent/mosaic-meshing-technology
"Generate Mosaic-enabled Poly-Hexcore meshes up to 10x faster using parallel processing. The patent-pending Mosaic algorithm creates adaptive conformal mesh interfaces for the best combination of speed and accuracy. No need to buy a separate HPC license.
The following example shows a comparison between Poly-Hexcore with Mosaic technology and conventional all-polyhedral meshing technology with a bluff body flame holder. The Mosaic mesh had fewer, better quality cells, requiring one-third less memory, and delivered a solution two-times faster with higher accuracy."
      Sincerely,
      JD, from KETIV

Hello, question here on capping. I want to import cad files from autodesk inventor. How can i seal inlet and outlet when i dont have it already prepared? In autodesk CFD mesh creation started at the end, after all other settings, including materials and internal volume definition, so there you were still working with CAD edges and not triangular mesh.

Hi. Question. Should the body of influence be a separate part? I'm using designmodeler and not spaceclaim, but i don't think that makes a difference right? Reason is, I tried to form a new part, but it couldnt identify the boi. Thanks!

is it not available in fluent 18 version or is there anything i should do to enable it from my side

Can you please include tutorials on how to mesh rotating fluid domain such as Horizontal axis wind turbine? I believe this kind of meshing involves at least 2 different fluid domains..

I was also looking for this workflow on youtube but as far as i know the watertight geometry workflow only allows for 1 domain, meaning the interface layer for the MRF between rotating and stationary part cant be created. In the fluent solver you can however split the zones/wall to create an interface but I havent had any luck with that either and i think the shared topology erased all the interface lines. I am looking forward to someone showing me a working MRF under the watertight workflow.

@@KETIVTechnologies Looking forward to this. I thought the watertight geometry workflow only allows a single domain so MRF rotating studies cant be done under the watertight geometry workflow. Is this true?

How do I create zones on stl of my geometry? I am not able to understand how I can create inlet and outlet

    • @fritzchennummber1
      @fritzchennummber1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

th-cam.com/video/2cywdPboXyw/w-d-xo.html here you can see a workflow for opensource cfd with OpenFOAM, there it is mentioned how to create inlet and outlet for STL. If you are interested in creating Inlet and Outlet for a STL in SpaceClaim, then look for the Groups Setting by the modell tree. Hope this helps
