I can't tell which part is more lucky-ier the fact that you shoot down the nuke before it got close enough to deal serious damage or the fact you took out the big lad with a single bomb run.
aircraft carrier oriented fleets are always godlike for this exact reason. Never had to send in my ships because all I did was scout ahead with my planes and bomb the shit out of strike and missile groups
even a heavy armored ship close impact nuke is not a death sentence. that make nukes kill bigs heavy armored ship the impact of explosion pushing the ship to the ground, but that is for ship in the air. ship on the ground is actually alot more surrivable.

Yeah, I was like "What?!" when it died to a single run. It usually takes me a couple dozen bombs and/or a few nukes to kill the big boys.
