awesome video man can you do a versus video on the tie predator and the c-f9 crossfire taking on any other 2 starfighters in either canon or legends.
Awesome video

I wonder if Grand Admrial Thrawn would make an exception to adding the Bellator SSD to his fleet composition due to the bellator's flexibility and speed
It's pretty much the only dreadnought that does the job well without slowing you down.
Honestly, a Bellator makes a lot of sense for Thrawn, pair with some Interdictors and other covering ships, and the NR's only chance is through Thrawn's assassination.
Yes he would...trust me
Likely only 3 or 4 for testing,And probably Modify them A little and Build 1 or 2 more.
I can imagine Thrawn having one of these and calling it, “Chimaera II”
If it was modified to have gravity well projectors then it would be a rebel nightmare.
If I remember rightly, the "ball turrets" along the sides and flanking the central superstructure arent actually turbolasers, but ion cannons equivalent to the one the Rebels used on Hoth to disable the ISD Tyrant.
@@vishnu79 oh shit!
You’d need Real plot armor to Survive that.
man, Bellators are ridiculously amazing - if you play for Pentastar, you just wait till you get two, then put them in the fleet with some scouting ships and start dropping them on the enemy. The only thing that can somewhat survive is Tzeentch on his home base
True, I use them a lot in GM. One for my primary def fleet with multiple escorting ISD and IPV. The other one I use as one of my assault fleet with several secutors for fighter support.
Fractalsponge is a god
Patron saint of fan designs
Did he get credited or was the design stolen again?
@@huntclanhunt9697 lmao
My favorite star wars ship.
Also, it's super satisfying to use as a flagship in Thrawn's Revenge.
bast33
Cool
Me too
6:13 The Secutor's design was based on a background ship from Dark Empire and it was later featured in other Star Wars works. I like how it looks like a Venator (because it was designed shortly after the Clone Wars).
Good job for a ship who’s official stats are “many turbolasers”
A ship the size of the Bellator is as large as I'd go when it comes to capital ships. Anything larger than that is too inflexible for my tastes.
Still having a massive dreadnaught is never a bad idea it inspires your forces and creates fear in your enemies, just don`t leave the bridge and other vital systems exposed and sticking out and be sure to cover all angles of attack.
I have a question Grand Admiral Thrawn.
Would the Chiss / Empire of the Hand have used Bellator's in the Unknwon Regions or do you think they would have used something more like the BC-304 {Stargate}.
Okay then at least I get to eat well an be cared for no matter what LOL
God damn I LOVE THIS SHIP, definitly my most favorite imperial starship. Far more flexible than any other stardreadnought so far and still enough weaponry to kill everything the galaxy has thrown at us so far. Also I could imagine that the Megador and the Dominion were modified versions of the Bellator with additional engines. That or I am just too big of a fanboy when it comes to that ship. Thanks Eck for this video.
How would you design the Venator MK II or the Imperial-III to maximize the advantages and minimize then weaknesses?
Integrated command structure, internal shields, no large upper hull doors like the Venator had, it allowed it to field a lot of fighters, but was a weakness when it opened. Slightly bigger than an ISDII but with a lot more anti fighter guns.
E M that seems impressive , young one
Imperial-III probably would have been something like republican Nebula-class SD, btw nice question, I hope Eck will make such video, also would be nice to know his imagination on Victory-III, Secutor-II and his ideal walker
A better design for the Venator mark 2 would instead of the main doors on the top front that expose the hangar bay to enemy fire, have launch bays on either side, in the cut out sections of the 'U', with point defense guns and tractor emitters on the walls of the cut out sections, either side of the launch bays that are at the base of the 'U'.
These would cover the bays from enemy starfighters as they would have intersecting fields of fire that would create a death zone in front (especially for sneaky Jedi/Sith types). Have the emitters mounted flat on the walls and able to aim into the bay, they could hold enemy ships (including larger corvettes, for the guns to kill) and assist with recovering damaged and captured ships. A couple of small ion guns could be added to assist with disabling ships as well.
The point defense guns could be mostly placed on the top and bottom leading and trailing edges of the 'U' in ball turrets so they can fire to the respective top or bottom arc of the ship if no fighters present themselves directly broadside or opposite front or back of the respective wall of the ship.
As for the main heavy turbolasers, instead of the ridiculous broadsides through shields arrangement of the Venator, they are group mounted in ball turrets staggered along the side of the hull on the 'arrow blade' of the wedge, where they can target both to the front and the side, almost to the rear arc. And from pure vertical both top and bottom.
The hanger is no longer a vulnerable zone in a head on confrontation and fighters can launch from cover either side and then break up, down, or straight out to the side. And with a threw bay, one side can be dedicated to launching and one to docking, avoiding the risk of collision, if necessary, (during a battle if ships are coming in for battle damage or resupply of ordinance). And having two bays doubles the number of fighters that can be launched at a time during a scramble, and prevents an accident blocking both bays.
The medium turbolasers would probably be mounted along the flat of the wedge since its free of other projections and covers both the front and either top or bottom arc (and they wouldn't be used for a base delta zero, unlike the heavy turbolasers, so being able to only employ half of them to the top or bottom arc is not an issue, although why don't capital ships just aim nose first at a planet to bring all guns to bare ? Oh right, they're ship at sea, in space). Laser cannons can be mixed in amongst them as well to protect against enemy fighters, especially if they are trying to strafe the bridge.
Now all it needs is to fix that bloody vulnerable bridge issue, and maybe stick some point defense on the rear to protect the engines.
Season with heavy ion cannons and missile and torpedo launchers as you wish and the ship is complete. It is deadly to the front, top and bottom and half as deadly to the sides (2/3rds if you include medium turbolasers). And it has multiple connected, protected launch bays with covering fire. And starfighters can dock and relaunch during combat without exposing themselves too much to counterfire.
Just hope they install a secondary internal bridge in case of a stray A-Wing …
casbott well thought out design, you earned my respect.
I'd say the Bellator was a Dreadnought if Grand Admiral Thrawn had designed it. No, really, Thrawn would concede that there were times when a massive capitol ship was needed even in his fast moving and fluid style of warfare and the Bellator would fit his overall command style, being so much faster and manouverable than an Executor Class or Mandator series dreadnought. It also eliminates all the classic weaknesses in most Imperial capships.
Great review of the bellator , Eck
Your description of the ship is good and it is useful information to have
Seems like grand admiral thrawn will like this ship as his flagship and emperor had revealed this ship to him
The perfect video doesn't exis...
Ahhh it does exist!! *faints
Juan Lodri oh I don't think so
Bellator is the perfect flagship for grand admiral thrawn
I found your channel a few days ago and I'm so glad I did, because I love how professional and in depth your discussions are (this video is a perfect example for that). Plus you do a lot of Legends stuff which pleases my old EU heart.I don't know if there is actually enough information about it, but a breakdown about the battle of Malachor V is something I would wish for a future video. Nonetheless, keep up the good work!
I really like your videos man. They are always interesting and I really like how dedicated you are to them. The research that you do can be seen in every single one of these videos. It is very impressive and while some SW channels that I really like don't upload that many videos anymore I am glad to see you are still going strong. You are probably my favorite sci fi channel. Keep up the good work.
Heil fractalsponge!
Darth Vader
Klopp
Apart from the likes of Harrison Ford, Mark Hamil, Carry Fisher:'( and Admiral Ackbar, Fractalsponge is the best person related to SW these past few years.
Hello
My absolute fave Star Wars ship , thank you eck.👍
Already 282k, 500k soon, dear Eck. It's not Assertor, but still nice piece of imperial war machine
P. S. in Assertor, Bellator and mysterious Megador we trust
Assertor next tho
In Ascendant Spear we t(h)rust.
Hi Eck I love the video and Thanks for giving me insight on the Bellator Super Star Destroyer. This is one Bad Ass Ship! Love your vids and bye!
Lovin these daily uploads!
I know you'll get to this in the finale of the Vong sub-series. Won't stop me from going through the motions though. Anyways:
Can you breakdown what is by far the largest space battle in the entire franchise? *The* *Battle* *of* *Yuuzhan'tar!* I have made this request: Sixty times.
Thank u for finally creating this. This is my favorite ship
Thank you so much for making a video about what is possibly my #1 favorite capital ship in the entire Star Wars franchise! (#2 is the Raider Corvette, both are beautiful warships~)
Now this is a ship I’d want in a fleet
I love that you use Thrawn's Revenge footage!
Personal shield technology compared: Dune, Halo, Star Wars and Stargate
Be nice to see a Legends Lore video on some of the smaller ship types used by the smaller independent navies of the EU, like the Kaloth Battlecruiser, Kruk Battlewagon, Ishori and Bothan War Cruisers, the Diamala stuff, etc.
Republic and CIS vs Yuuzhan Vong
Viscount Class Star Defender VS 2 of the MALEVOLENCE ( Subjagator Class Heavy Cruiser )
24th Try
You should do Ship explanations for every major legends ship.
The Bellator, you want guns? *We got ‘em*
I think I have a new favorite super star destroyer now, I love the design of this ship. Harrower class from Star Wars old republic still my favorite but this one cmes in second
The only dreadnought I would have more than one of would be the Bellator. Most dreadnoughts are too vulnerable and too slow. They limit your tactics to "walk towards your enemy and try not to die" or "stand there, MENACINGLY!" That's largely why IRL dreadnoughts and battleships have vanished from the naval warfare scene. They're too vulnerable without absurd levels of protection.
The Bellator, meanwhile, can move in flanking positions while the rest of your fleet causes problems for the enemy. The Bellator in this role actually serves the role a dreadnought is meant for--force projection--very well. A single Bellator can match the firepower of several ISDs while being much more mobile. I would gladly take two of these over one Executor.
he lore
deep core
make more
me bore
Mai Hujpynis , you're bored?
I do love a good Secutor. It looks like my baby the Acclamator achieved final form.
Please do the battle of duro or the battle of kamino (clone wars)
6:29 who came just for this?
i would have the Bellator as my Command Ship than any other why because i like how it is been made
I would probably have an eclipse class but I would have made multiple improvements i.e. make it longer to house a couple of extra power generators and give it a lot more turbolasers and bigger engines
I have a entire fleet with an eclipse as a command ship/support ship since that is basically what it’s designed for with the super laser and interdiction generator
Wish we had FTL space travel now. This world is getting too crowded for my liking.
Arc Trooper Null Definitely
Great portion of all the landmass(don't even have to mention seas)is uninhabited. There's plenty of space if you want to be alone.
I wouldn't want to live in the SW galaxy though. Constant unending warfare for tens of thousands of years, slavery, and genocide. No thank you. I'll just read about it from far far away.
@@stab74 There are periods of hundreds of years of peace. The galaxy is way less violent than planet earth is.
Could you do a Star Wars species breakdown?
Type-47A(H2) scarab vs type-47B(H3,reach,odst) scarab vs Banished scarab vs Volatile scarab
Alaric _ What's a necron scarab?
40k thing, basically a big metal bug the size of a head and made of necrodermis (Necron alloy)
Thoses are mostly dangerous when deployed in a swarm, an isolated one can still be a threat but definitely not against a Covenant scarab
Interesting video and it definitely proves that a more Flexible ship is more useful than a straight up our house they can do more and they can for Fillmore rose it's sad that we have seen more these in movies or in Canon
The Bellator is probably my favorite imperial dreadnaught, thanks for doing a in depth breakdown of the ship.😁👍
This ship in the EAW mod "Battlefront Commander" just absolutely rips space stations apart with all of its guns and I love it.
I like the concept of this design. I'd trade some firepower to get better speed and maneuverability.
If anybody familiar about Forces of Corruption-Battlefront commander mod...So, in this mod have a Bellator, and the Bellator always have a personal reinforcements usable-an Interdictor cruiser. In this mod, if you have the Executor, you called reinforcemens also-the personal fleet of Lord Vader! Some ISD also become usefull. These reinforcemets are not count into your fleet and "pop cap", they are surplus...
Look up Star wars remake for the same game
This is not a powerful ship since
JAR JAR BINKS CAN DESTROY IT!!!!
Hey Eck,The content you been throwing out lately has been AMAZING!,Just keep up that amazing-ness :)
---Paco
PLEASE do this for more capital ships and Star Destroyers! That would be awesome!
Still my favorite Legends ship. There are few threats in the Thrawn's Revenge mod requiring a Dreadnought response that a Bellator couldn't handle just as well as an Executor.
I think the same could be said of the galaxy in Cannon as well.
Please cover the Assertor
Eck, love your videos, but I gotta know. Which mod for Empire at War are you using that features this magnificent dreadnought?
Is this ship still canon? Please tell me it is because it’s my favorite ship EVER!
I think not. When said canon he meaned(Is that the correct past form for mean?!) the legends canon
Its canon in legends.
One ironically appears in issue 51 of the main Star Wars comic, as it happens. Probably by accidentally tracing it from online...
Chris sonofPear thank you for at least giving me some hope.....
I don't care what's canon or not anymore. It's all make believe and exists in my head so I just make everything i like canon. TLJ never happened for me. :P
MC90 VS Nebula Star Destroyer
I'd wreck both of them
If Im being 100% Honest though, I prefer the VENGEANCE Class SSD over anything. Its Dagger Shape and solid Speed wth Great Weapon groupings are Very nice.
Recusant Class Light Destroyer vs Something
Please make an allegiance class star destroyer vs nebula class star destroyer
Of all Imperial Star Destroyers I would choose the Bellator.
I’ve always been fascinated by the ship.
I am creating a 'Terrodine' class star Destroyer. Heavily armed and capable of both long range engagements and powerful broadsides.
I fuckin love this thing
Can the ESF and Celestial Being from gundam 00 post season 2 but before the movie stop a Zerg invasion.
Damn I liked this one
Belator is also my favorite SSD
FractalSponge is awesome. Who else agrees?
Wich faction has the best Admiral? (Thrawn, Piett / Hux / Ackbar)
My OC's fleet had one, it was their biggest ship ever. If my story's were to be cannon their fleet would resupply and help the Resistance in their fight against the First Order
What was the mod he was using in EAW, for the intro?
Its updated that much? Huh...
Can you do the revenge class heavy carrier
Can you do tie silencer vs tie defender?
The Bellator is definitely the prettiest SD
The Federation Fleet at Wolf 359 (Star Trek TNG) vs The Rebel Alliance Fleet at the Battle of Yavin (Legends)
Attempt 19
Goddamn it’s huge
I know, that’s what she said
Autumn class cruiser vs ISD
Independence Day alien invasion fleet (1996) vs Yuzzhan Vong Worldship
Replicators vs a Unified Star Wars Universe (All Races and Eras Combined)
75th Attempt
How many point-defence cannons would you think, Fractalsponge didn't specify but I believe they are present?
Skynet vs The Flood
123rd Attempt
Scenario: Skynet beats the resistance, and after that it is alerted of the Flood coming to Earth, and it is given a basic rundown on what the Flood is and what it does, it gets 3 Years to militarize and prepare for the Floods arrival,
The Flood will arrive using High Charity's, including it's fleets, weapons, and so on, in Scenario 1a it gets 5 High Charity's, in Scenario 1b it gets 10 High Charity's, and in Scenario 1c it gets 20 High Charities,
The Flood may not use the Logic Plague on Skynet, nor may it just glass the planet,
SkyNet may not just send a bunch of nukes to the High Charity's,
Basically no hard core weapons of mass destruction that could basically end the match up in a few days if not hours,
If SkyNet can survive until Scenario 1c then I personally say that it would win, although if that is not enough each scenario could in fact be a wave that SkyNet has to destroy, which would make 35 High Charity's in total, and each wave would come a week after the wave before it was totally destroyed, giving SkyNet the chance to regroup and analyze whatever data it received from the battle, whether it be more efficient ways to kill Flood Forms or even gathering and using/reverse engineering Covenant Technology for its own use,
what empire at war mod was that with the bellator warping in?
Oxy Moron Thrawns Revenge
BELLATOR, HECK YES!!!!!!!!!
Replicators vs a Unified Star Wars universe (293rd try now, *_I._** WILL NEEEEVER EEEVER GIVE UP!!!)*
Blacklight Virus vs The Flood
Rematch
121st Attempt
Question? Y do some Channels like...BAZ BATTLES or KINGS & GENERALS have English Subs but most others, like Ecks here have the Basic Auto Gen Subs? Is it just harder to implement or...?
1:50 You're sending a DREADNOUGHT to respond to a hit and run attack? The Millenium Falcon must've been there
Turian Hierarchy, backed by the Krogan, Volus, Quarian and Geth Vs The Confederacy of Independent Systems, third try.
Hello there!
Super star destroyers might be one of the coolest topics in Star Wars
Top 5 Yuuzhan Vong Starships
All invaders from the unknown regions
Csa Covenant assault carrier vs mc90 cruiser
I'm kinda wondering if the Bellator ever carried any TIE Fighters, ground troops, etc.
I love my Bellator! Playing Empire at War wth the PENTASTAR ALIGNMENT and my Bellator is the Flagship of my 3rd Fleet. Grand Adm Octavian Grant is clearing out Zinji while the Reaper is closing the Pincer from the West.
I know you've done Vids on diff SSD'S. But is their more info on the VENGEANCE Class? After I read the Thrawn Trilogy bck in 7th or 8th Grade and a lot more b4 that, a bunch of my friends & I built Mini Boats that'd we'd race in this Fast Stream. Whats funny about this is our Parents came out to watch us wth their friends, my Ship...the DEATHS HEAD ended up Winning easily! They wondered where I got such a Name, "From a Badass Executor Class SSD that Pirates stole in Star Wars!" Though I love the MEGADOR thats a Name!
So many wasted potential. "Fans" and "nerds" made reasonable designs in their free times, and official "design" teams-many guys with many dollars- tinkering some horrible "WTF class" uglies. Why not just borrowed one of this? And used their manpower and dollars to made a professional working-few meter long- model about it... 3D modeling combined with real scratchbuild models-ultimate looks in any film...If you have a good 3D printer, no problem to made beutifull big scale modells.
I wonder if Grand Admrial Thrawn would make an exception to adding the Bellator SSD to his fleet composition due to the bellator's flexibility and speed
Thrawn (with all his military forces and assets from both legends and canon) vs the Covenant, the UNSC and the Banished.
The Bellator is my absolute favourite Imperial ship, I pair up two with an Interdictor ISD.
A pretty good “Fuck You” combination if I do say so myself.
(38th request) 1 CAS Class Assault Carrier with 4 CSS Class Battlecruisers and 4 SDV-class heavy corvettes VS 1 Bellator Class Super Star Destroyer (yes i look it up and the Bellator Class has Fighters about 100 of them) 4 Imperial 2 class Star Destroyers and 4 Dreadnought Class Heavy cruisers (theses ships use to be Victory 2 class Star Destroyers but that would give the Empire too much an edge in the battle so i made them Dreadnought class Heavy cruisers instated too make it equal in a way)
And wow i put this the Breakdown for the Bellator too lol.
i have an idea for a versus, Alpha 9 (halo 3: ODST) vs Delta Squad (i think that is what it's called, the squad from the republic commando game).
I miss the way the hull in Dark Empire swooped down below that protruding aft engine bloc. It's the only change I would have made to the design.
But of course, because it could be much more effective in modern, more realistic combat, the Empire opted not to use it a lot because that would require *GASP!* changing their tactics!!!
Just scale down to using these and upgrade the fighters into TIE Avengers and/or Defenders.
Btw, I have SW:EaW & expack on steam but since I fuddled the in-game graphics settings I havent been able to run it,, (have un & reinstalled a couple of times etc)
