The MP7 was not used on EQUINOXE 4 - only on EQUINOXE Part 5, 6, 7. The Minipops7 also was used on OXYGENE 2, 4 and 6. On EQUINOXE 4 it was an "Eko Computerhythm", a pretty rare, programmable drum machine.
ME TOO ! They are all sounds so wonderfull ! I'm 15 years old, and I have use the KORG minipops 7 in this track ! th-cam.com/video/zjsrTgqfcgQ/w-d-xo.html

Thanks for posting those all in sequence-very interesting to hear the differences between the individual units. They all have their own personality which I didn't expect.
@Uhura1969 Danke... Die Unterschiede sind wegen den Bauteil-Toleranzen, die bei analogen Geräten normal sind. Als die Geräte neu waren, war es genauso, hat mit dem Alter nichts zu tun. Kein Exemplar klingt 100% wie ein anderes.
Thanks for your help, looks like it will take a bit of patience but I suppose it will make it all the sweeter once I finally get my hands on one! Keep up the good work, I enjoyed looking at some of your other videos too!
They are all sounds so wonderfull ! I'm 15 years old, and I have use the KORG minipops 7 in this track, witch is a tribute to JMJARRE, GOOD LISTENING ! th-cam.com/video/zjsrTgqfcgQ/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for this. I finally heard the differences between my Univox SR-95 and the Minipops 7. I might go ahead and modify it to transform it into a Minipops 7, and also add MIDI clock sync to it.
AlainHubert , I have also a Univox and modified it to a mini pops. The great thing is that the PCB is already made for the modifications. You only need to add and remove some parts and wires.
Your the the best analog synth demo person on hear keep up the great work you must have a lot of great synthesizers and drum machines I have a Korg mini pops 7 found on a second hand market a bit battered for £3.00 the seller thought it was some old junk but I know what it was hehe ;)
It's a matter of taste, which model one like. My favourites are the MP7 and MP5, in my opinion these two have the strongest character. However, I like them all! :-) They are funny and inspire me to write new tracks....
Hi, I love the definition you've gotten with recording them? What did you use to record them? I have a Korg Rhythm 55 and an Ace Fr6 that work really splendidly. They are delicate though, especially the Korg, I'd like to sample them in case of tragedy.
Hey AnalogAudio1 I really like all your videos. Do you have a KEIO DONCAMATIC MINI POPS? I surprisingly just acquired one while picking up my deceased grandpas drum set.
there are several Mini Pops models, which call themselves "Doncamatic"... but if you mean the first of all models - with white and black switches - I had it once.
Hahah, they are pretty annoying those kids! Hey, any tips where to find these, I've spent a whole evening on the internet trying and can't seem to find anybody selling one. Usually you would find something (like i did with the Ace Tone) but these seem really rare. Just wondered if you knew someone who deals in them?? Thanks in advance..
Thanks - although on this video you can actually hear, what TH-cam made to the original sounds (data reduction that causes unwanted phasings, etc...) in original, the boxes sound much more better.
Before watching the video i read a review saying that "its sounds and limited range make it pretty useless today, unless you're into nostalgia or experimental music"...really?
but you could say the same about a real drumset :-) it's full of nostalgia, it's somewhat limited, but it's definitelly NOT useless today. Great sound and with its limits you still can be creative.
I love the sound of these old drum machines!
Love the mini pops sounds. So satisfying. crisp and snappy.
This is the most useful demo on TH-cam!
Great!! Thank you!
12 years later still the best video about those machines

What a superb collection, I'm jealous !

@Zombi3Biscuit no. But you can combine presets, you can obtain awesome groove combinations.
Thanks for posting those all in sequence-very interesting to hear the differences between the individual units. They all have their own personality which I didn't expect.
I have a 120, so much fun to play with!
the vintage style of this video is fucking excellent! especially the title card between each unit with the weird, unsettling sfx. superb!
thanks!
Thanks for taking the time to show us these!
These little things remind me of the analog rhythm box which Lowrey built in to their excellent "Lawrence Welk Edition" transistor organs.
@Uhura1969 Danke...

drumcomputers rule! can't have enough of them :)
love the minipops 5 & 7!
That second one was straight out of the Fight Club soundtrack. Dust Brothers used that exact beat/drum machine!
For sure!
i think JMJ used a minipop for the oxygene and equinoxe LP´s.

Awesome Video! And i really like the sound of the Mini Pops Series. A very "good feeling" living sound. Thanks for showing :)

Thanks for sharing! This confirms that I need to start searching for minipops!
thanks :-) congratulations for your MP7 !

Beautiful collection
I think there aren't any minipops dealers around... look at ebay... but they are quite rare.
the winner is: mini pops 7
The finger snap noise is wonderful. One of the patterns is basically Equinoxe V.
Can't hear anything at 240p shit audio.

Rhytmicomputer that was created by Michel Geiss was used in Equinoxe 4. Try my web for more photos of that box and details :)
Thanx for sharing, now I have samples for my MC 909 ;)
It's a matter of taste, which model one like. My favourites are the MP7 and MP5, in my opinion these two have the strongest character. However, I like them all! :-) They are funny and inspire me to write new tracks....
MY GOD!!!! How did you come across all of these, I've been searching for over a year for a minipops and finally settled for a Casio MT-18!! HOW?!
I played with a Lowrey organ which had a MiniPops 5 hooked up to it once...
mine was in there ,now im going to try and figure out why this one i bought for 6euro isnt working xD

That was the Minipops 7.

tengo la mini pops 2 o la 1 te falta en esa colección
Yup.
These are great. I've got samples of the MP7 but if anyone has any other sample sets I'd be interested in them :-)
but for a demo is it to schort, too

no, it has not... I think, Jarre's model was modified.
I hoped that nobody would notice... ;-)
I didn't found one yet.
why so short sound clips, please take a demonstration , with 10sec loops, thank you
+kmrtv this is a demo, not a sample library with loops
thanks! :-)
why are all the great synthesizer demo'ers from europe/germany?
Cds56 trye
True
I have two MiniPops Junior machines... such a lo-fi sound, kind of muffled, comepared to the other machines!

ok, but don't confuse them with those singing kids... ;-)
And if the Minipops 7 were an old man? ;-)
That second one uses a live wasp as the hi hat
4:17-4:21 Are we the last living souls?
4:55 japanese DODONPA rhythm...
Hi, now I have the minipops "20 S" too! :-) See my video.
