I have a theory about Quan Chi. He is aware of time travel shenanigans and with each restart, he becomes slightly more insane causing his errors to become greater. He is otherwise an evil genius. He smiled when he got his head cut off. Why? His true loyalty is to himself. What's his end game?. Power for it's own sake or is it something more sinister?
One thing people keep forgetting about Quan Chi is that he is actually an Oni - you know, the mindless rage-fueled minions of Hell - who learned magic. It makes his stupidity and obsession with causing pain even to his own detriment a bit more umderstandable. Also note that althoigh he's a sorcerer, most of his fatalities are just physically brutal rather than using magic.

I’ve always viewed Quan Chi as a “sorcerer first/fighter second” kind of character. Someone that can handle himself in a fight, but isn’t super talented with HtH combat. A little head-canon to explain why he’s always manipulating and teaming up with people.

Should've mentioned how in MKX D'vorah and Shinnok talk above his corpse with "ah yes he let himself get caught so that Shinnok could be summoned behind Earth's defenses" even though literally 5 minutes earlier you see D'vorah literally just walk in through a portal like it's nothing and 1 minute earlier Shinnok just bodies everyone you'd expect to try to stop him like Sonya, Johnny, Scorpion. Even they're trying to find a reason to say he's good at his job.
Let’s not forget they retconned it in 11 that Quan Chi was the one who killed Sindel, so in the trilogy he goes from master manipulator to pathetic dumbass to kinda sorta a manipulator again, like just pick one and stick with it, lol
I remember someone saying that Scorpion was the Charlie Brown of MK, but he managed to squeeze out one sort-of win out of Quan Chi. But that quickly turned to an L in MK9, so maybe Quan Chi got the last laugh.
I gotta say it, I loved Jax's "Stop talking" and... *Whack* It just served to show how flimsy and frail Quan Chi was without his Evil Magic Slaves. One Earth Spec Ops dude was able to wallop him in one because he spent so much time hiding behind his mind slaved lackeys he forgot how to do shit for himself. Jax swatted him off like nothing, then Sonya did him in. Hanzo may have killed him, but he was done for the moment Jax and Sonya laid him low.

Like a said, only a few villains were severely over pushed in the NRS era that being d’vorah and sindel in some segments in the NRS era (2nd timeline of mk). Hate to repeat it again but that does not mean the villains are treated well. It was just to show how the powerscaling is fucking awful in the NRS era progressing onwards

I've always liked Quan Chi. I remember being a kid and playing Deadly Alliance and really feeling like he was a serious big bad. He made arguably the strongest team in MK, knows that magic that is left mysterious so he could basically do anything, and just has always seemed to make an impact from when he first debuted. I mean even according to your video here, Quan Chi is a main antagonist and alot of things wouldn't happen without him. I mean for instance in deadly alliance, Lu Kang wouldn't have gotten killed without him 🤷🏼♂️
That has me rolling every time TrueUnderDawg when you call Quan Chi "Elmer Fud" Lol. Just like Scorpion says in MKX to Quan Chi: "you burrowed into my head, misdirected my vengeance!" That's what he did when he showed Scorpion the false vision of his clan/family demise in MK9. Quan Chi has definitely been the bane of a lot of MK kharacters. Look at how many kharacter's ending he appears in during the events of MK4/Gold. But technically Scorpion killed Quan Chi twice, MK4/Gold and in MKX. Quan Chi is synonymous for his dubious and treacherous nature. Even the other villains don't trust him. That's why Scorpion on MKX beat the breaks off Quan Chi and brutality decapitated him.
I actually quite like Quan Chi. His gameplay in X is a lot of fun and I find him gleefully malevolent as a character. Both he and Shang Tsung has this immense smugness but Quan Chi manages to hide it behind his calm demeanor which I think makes him spookier (I find shang Tsung more charismatic tho)
I rate this video 8 "Ya boy"s/8. Poor Quan Chi... Maybe if he had a friend, he wouldn't be such a villain. Seriously, it was a recurring theme in his dialogues in MKX.
1:15 I enjoy both. -Without Quan, we wouldn't have Noob and Scorpion wouldn't have been initially reincarnated as his revenant self. -Honestly though, I enjoy Quan Chi since his story shows similarities to the main story. -Scorpion= Liu Kang (Main Character), Sub=Kung Lao (Supporting cast) and Quan Chi=Raiden/Shang ("Mentor") -Growing up I was a Scorpion fan, than when I learned the story I became a Sub-Zero fan and appreciated Quan for his B Plot
To be fair here, Noob was only a revenant Sub Zero because a fan thought of it and Mortal Kombat failed both times to have a storyline with both Noob and Scorpion in it. Noob only had the Noob - Smoke alliance but that hasn't been used in Mk 9 onwards
I will admit that Quan Chi is the most Evil Character in the Entire Franchise my favorite Sorcerer and 2nd Favorite Villain,while I did wanted to see both Sorcerers in MK11 as the Deadly Alliance but I hope and pray that we will see Him Return in Future Games.

The thing is, from all the haters Quan Chi had, I actually liked him. Quan Chi, together with Shinnok, was the very first MK character I ever played in MK4, and seeing them being treated like this in MKX made me mad as hell
It was kinda how he always was. In MK4, he made himself a target by revealing to Scorpion he killed his family, for basically no reason, and ended up tortured by Scorpion in the Netherrealm. In Mythologies, he told Sub-Zero he got tricked and left, Sub-Zero came after him and ended up getting beat by him in the game too.
I much prefer that Sub-Zero DOES kill Scorpions family under orders of Quan Chi I do think the writing for Quan Chi tends to be poor… which is a shame as he’s a GREAT character
MK 4 he was the best character MK D.A a master manipulator and the guy who moved the plot, Shaolin Monks winner through his mastermind plan, MK Deception proves himself the most powerful and manipulative of the alliance, MK Konquest he put Shao Kahn on the corner, then MK IX another master manipulator creator of another incredible character Noob Saibot, manipulating Kahn and using Sindel but videos like this one or the rest of the Mk lore ruined it.

My favorite Quan Chi moment is during the intro to Mk Deception, where he Raiden and Shang Tsung team up against the bigger threat that could take the three of them, Onaga. They're all shooting magics at Onaga and it like barely phases him. And Raiden starts building his move where he blows himself up. You know, that thing he could always do. He needs that! Quan Chi sees this, and he says the only line any of the 3 have that's not battle cries: "What are you doing?" Cuz he can tell. He can tell where this is going. ANd he's out here looking after number one, and he's the only one not sold on going out in a blaze of glory. And then just as Onaga is like at arms distance, if you pause the video, you can clearly see Quan Chi starting to run the hell away. So you know as much as Quan Chi is sometimes retconned into having done what Shang Tsung was believed to have done, moments like that where at least make it so that Quan Chi has a different personality. He's not just Goth Shang Tsung!

Quan Chi is the smartest character in MK. And considering what he does to everyone, he's one of the most powerful. One of the best characters ever made.

It wasn't much of a retcon. He was said (in mk4) to have been acting behind the scenes in the past tournaments, and he didn't launch an attack until right after Shao Kahn's invasion of Earthrealm. He could've still been present to push Scorpion into killing Bi-Han after their fight (as the earlier game's cutscenes/stories primarily focused on active fighters). He pretty much did the same in mk9, the main difference being that he was present to summon Scorpion during the tournament. He launched the attack against Earthrealm a few months after the invasion this time. I assume he spent a bit more time preparing due to having to completely subjugate his new revenant army(it was shown in the comics that Revenant Cyber Subzero gave him some trouble, so he tore the dude apart, and had a human revenant body built).
Quan Chi should be praised, without him there would not be Scorpion, Sareena, Noob Saibot and some others. And Quan Chi is smart, the writers are not smart, if you live for thousands of years in such a violent world full of death, you are smart.
I fucking love bo rai cho and he is so underrated. A lot of people think that he is cringe and gross because he farts and pukes but I think that's what make s him awesome!!
Nobody points this out, but in MK9, the images of the Shirai Ryu massacre that Quan Chi shows Scorpion depict Kuai Liang Sub Zero killing the Hasashi family while claiming it was Bi Han. You can tell due to the different masks and armor. It's not explained, but I have a theory. Perhaps Quan Chi spotted Tundra (Kuai Liang) while gathering intel on Sub Zero to impersonate him and pinned the blame on Kuai while confusing him for Bi Han
Quan chi is one of those characters who you hate at first, but you slowly grow to like him because you realize hes charmingly, unintentionally funny and a meme.
After all the horrible things Quan Chi has done to the Lin Kuei and the Shirai Ryu, I do hate Quan Chi the most out of every single villain in Mortal Kombat History, in each timeline he does manipulate both Bi-Han and Hanzo Hasashi, Into killing each other and turned them both into undead revenants Scorpion and Noob Saibot, all just to do this sick man's dirty work for him, Quan Chi does get what he deserves in the current timeline in MKX by Hanzo Hasashi himself, Quan Chi gets his own head cut off by Hanzo Hasashi and says "Blood for blood your debt is payed", Hanzo Hasashi did get his revenge for everything Quan Chi has done to the Shirai Ryu and the Lin Kuei clans, I'm glad he didn't return in MK 11 Because he is a real piece SHIT and I do pray he NEVER comes back, so thanks for making a very cool video on the most hated villain in MK history, you did a real good job here TrueUnderDawgGaming I look forward to whoever you do next ✌️

I'm surprised that you don't even mention any of the character in the 3d era beyond Deadly Alliance. Because he appears in all of the 3d era games. In fact, he kills Orin in Armageddon.
Honestly, Quan-Chi is a very cool design. He looks memorable & has a unique and crazy personality. MK has always had sorcerors as their primary villains. He's more interesting than Shinnok.
I hated this character because the creators put him everywhere and kept retconning him into past events, only to then pass the obnoxiously prolific villain torch to D'Vorah. The only thing I ever liked about him was how much fun Richard Divizio had in the role in MKM.

The thing is, from all the haters Quan Chi had, I actually liked him. Quan Chi, together with Shinnok, was the very first MK character I ever played in MK4, and seeing them being treated like this in MKX made me mad as hell
It was kinda how he always was. In MK4, he made himself a target by revealing to Scorpion he killed his family, for basically no reason, and ended up tortured by Scorpion in the Netherrealm. In Mythologies, he told Sub-Zero he got tricked and left, Sub-Zero came after him and ended up getting beat by him in the game too.

MK 4 he was the best character MK D.A a master manipulator and the guy who moved the plot, Shaolin Monks winner through his mastermind plan, MK Deception proves himself the most powerful and manipulative of the alliance, MK Konquest he put Shao Kahn on the corner, then MK IX another master manipulator creator of another incredible character Noob Saibot, manipulating Kahn and using Sindel but videos like this one or the rest of the Mk lore ruined it.

Yes quan chi is definitely the most evil villain in mortal kombat.
Bro talks in circles like no one I’ve ever seen. It’s like he’s trying to get his word count up on a paper.
My favorite Quan Chi moment is during the intro to Mk Deception, where he Raiden and Shang Tsung team up against the bigger threat that could take the three of them, Onaga. They're all shooting magics at Onaga and it like barely phases him. And Raiden starts building his move where he blows himself up. You know, that thing he could always do. He needs that!
Quan Chi sees this, and he says the only line any of the 3 have that's not battle cries: "What are you doing?" Cuz he can tell. He can tell where this is going. ANd he's out here looking after number one, and he's the only one not sold on going out in a blaze of glory.
And then just as Onaga is like at arms distance, if you pause the video, you can clearly see Quan Chi starting to run the hell away. So you know as much as Quan Chi is sometimes retconned into having done what Shang Tsung was believed to have done, moments like that where at least make it so that Quan Chi has a different personality. He's not just Goth Shang Tsung!
Shang Tsung couldn’t kill Liu Kang until Quan Chi helped him. He needed Quan Chi’s help for that. 😂

It wasn't much of a retcon. He was said (in mk4) to have been acting behind the scenes in the past tournaments, and he didn't launch an attack until right after Shao Kahn's invasion of Earthrealm. He could've still been present to push Scorpion into killing Bi-Han after their fight (as the earlier game's cutscenes/stories primarily focused on active fighters).
He pretty much did the same in mk9, the main difference being that he was present to summon Scorpion during the tournament. He launched the attack against Earthrealm a few months after the invasion this time. I assume he spent a bit more time preparing due to having to completely subjugate his new revenant army(it was shown in the comics that Revenant Cyber Subzero gave him some trouble, so he tore the dude apart, and had a human revenant body built).

Nobody points this out, but in MK9, the images of the Shirai Ryu massacre that Quan Chi shows Scorpion depict Kuai Liang Sub Zero killing the Hasashi family while claiming it was Bi Han. You can tell due to the different masks and armor. It's not explained, but I have a theory. Perhaps Quan Chi spotted Tundra (Kuai Liang) while gathering intel on Sub Zero to impersonate him and pinned the blame on Kuai while confusing him for Bi Han

After all the horrible things Quan Chi has done to the Lin Kuei and the Shirai Ryu, I do hate Quan Chi the most out of every single villain in Mortal Kombat History, in each timeline he does manipulate both Bi-Han and Hanzo Hasashi, Into killing each other and turned them both into undead revenants Scorpion and Noob Saibot, all just to do this sick man's dirty work for him, Quan Chi does get what he deserves in the current timeline in MKX by Hanzo Hasashi himself, Quan Chi gets his own head cut off by Hanzo Hasashi and says "Blood for blood your debt is payed", Hanzo Hasashi did get his revenge for everything Quan Chi has done to the Shirai Ryu and the Lin Kuei clans, I'm glad he didn't return in MK 11 Because he is a real piece SHIT and I do pray he NEVER comes back, so thanks for making a very cool video on the most hated villain in MK history, you did a real good job here TrueUnderDawgGaming I look forward to whoever you do next ✌️

Honestly, Quan-Chi is a very cool design. He looks memorable & has a unique and crazy personality. MK has always had sorcerors as their primary villains. He's more interesting than Shinnok.
