As for Exia, it’ll be cool to see at the end of this upcoming 3 part series, certain pilot finally getting proper Gundam, which he deserved to get, since he was so talented that he could hold his own against Gundam while piloting Grunt mobile suit. Thanks for video and see you next time!

Interesting... the modified KnockOff Sandrock I've built had modified shoulder armor and a frankenstein built backpack and called it sandrock kai, hahaha. I did not know about the modified rear skirt armor and bigger leg thrusters. Maybe a future restoration will fix that... or maybe, Sandrock Kai Version 2.

Heck, Sandrock is the only gundam that can hold its own one on one with Epyon aside Wing zero.sandrock is also my very first model kit among the five gundams and my very first 1/100 gundam kit, the ew version. He just looks so good.
My friend sold me on the idea of combining the Sandrock with UC's mudrock, giving it two big shoulder cannons. 5:48 Sorta like that but bigger and closer in to the head.
Actually Sandrock's self destruct system was the same as the others its implied that it developed some degree of consciouness and wanted Quatre to escape and not die. There were a few times when Wing Zero also seemed to mimic this behavior with Heero
I think Sandrock is my favourite Gundam. I just wish it had more of the Maganac mobile suit colours. Something more earthy to blend into the desert terrain it was so good at fighting in. Rather than white and black with bits of yellow. I think it should have been several shades of brown. Even that Sandleon colour scheme was pretty cool.
Basically every Gundam show features a "boy band" so i don't know why people use that term just to refer to Wing's protagonists. Nice H.L.M.S as always

I don't care what you say endless Waltz had the better version of every single Gundam not to say the TV or anime versions didn't look awesome but the endless Waltz versions are better with the exclusion of Sandrock.
Endless Waltz versions are not necessarily better. The Endless Waltz versions have more effective weapons which can better kill other mobile suits and mobile dolls faster. However, the TV versions are better dualists - their weapons seem to require less ammo, their beam weapons can last longer, their equipment last longer, their armor is stronger, their suits are more brute force and for rugged use - the TV versions are built for lasting endurance and low maintenance.
Funny how Virgos in the anime get destroyed by a breeze, but in SD Gundam Cross Rays Virgo's are the toughest Grunt suit and take practically no ranged damage especially in inferno difficulty making Wing Zero completely useless.
Videogames all operate under game rules which preserve game balance rather than care about lore. That's how you have advanced alien races engaging Terrans in videogames where Terrans even stand a fighting chance where in the lore they shouldn't.
Battlefield of Pacifist, Glory of Loser (Manga version of the TV plot, but with Katoki designs), Frozen Teardrop (Novel based on 20 years after Endless Waltz), and G-Unit
Sandrock could have easily been the star of the show. It's like having Axe (Dota2) on your team. You just know it will be a good game. Plus there are lots of OP characters with Def as their selling Points (Shield Hero, Bofuni). Quatre is a great leader and tactician but he's clearly Back End Position. Sandrock should be piloted by a more Gutsy, Gritty and a bit genius person and the suit will be maximize to shine. Imagine Kenpachi (Bleach), Naofumi (Shield Hero), Lobo (DC), Krusty (Log Horizon), Zorro (One Piece) or Shikamaru (Naruto) piloting it, then it would be fun. Heck even Sleggar Law (Gundam UC OYW) would make Sandrock more interesting.
It's the way the character was written. He's not the star of the show nor does he stand out because he was written that way. No point changing something as fundamental as that. With regards to defense, the 4 other gundams already have enough defense from their gundanium. For the TV versions at least - they're practically invulnerable. Still, Sandrock's defense is more than what is necessary it becomes somewhat like luxury in excess. Like a VIP having additional defense for the sake of it. The point is that it's a pointless joke. Which I know may annoy you even more about the character. It's only a pity the character wasn't written the way you'd want him to be. That's the gist. There's nothing more to add on to that.

I don't really look at it as being the weakest, but rather the toughest. It's focus is defense, which makes sense for a command role mobile suit. It can perform mission specific functions that the other units can't, such as defending a base or holding back an enemy force while the others complete their objectives. I believe it was designed with teamwork in mind. If you factor the Maguanac Corps into the equation, it quickly becomes the most formidable unit of the 5. Even by itself, it is still a very capable mobile suit for the reasons you outlined.

I usually don't care for Sandrock as much as the other four lead Gundams plus Wing Zero and Epyon. That being said, I do like how it initially looks in the Endless Waltz universe and looks at its best with the Armadillo Armor (kinda reminds me of Mudrock). Although, the color scheme for the space ready Sandrock doesn't work as well for me and this is coming from someone who loves the other Endless Waltz upgraded Gundam designs plus Wing Zero and Epyon. Sadly, things are not a whole lot better for its upgraded variant in the TV universe. Compared to Heavy Arms Kai (at least Heavy Arms Kai has twin Gatling guns and the original design was already quite memorable anyways), Deathscythe Hell, and Altron; Sandrock has the least interesting changes.
It's a pacifist suit. The melee is for its own defense. It was never meant to engage, but let the Magnacs and 4 other Gundams do the work instead. Try to see the Sandrock as a VIP lounge for Quatre. The character was written in a way to not make you care too much. He's like a +1. Somehow people's expectations is that all 5 gundams have to stand out as individuals but that's not how it works in real life. You don't always have 5, sometimes you have 4+1.
maybe its my dislike for Quatra i always felt like Sandrock is an underrated Suit. If it had a better or more aggressive pilot Sandrock would be a real monster to deal with and on paper aside from Zero and Epyon. Sandrock could last the longest in a fight thanks to its armor and weapons that don't rely on fuel or power.
Well, Quatre is the most sensitive compared to everyone, he didn't command very well in the beginning, but he got my respect when he broke the other faction's MD System

There are massive underlining pacifist theme going on here. No, it's not about why you wouldn't choose a gun because it's a better defense weapon. You don't choose a gun because it's at the same time also a better offensive weapon. Big swords are a deterrent - enemy sees you from far with those swords, and still chose to engage you, then it's their choice to be slashed. You've done enough to warn them off. Some direct points to address. A pacifist wouldn't run away, that's not what Gandhi did. Quatre didn't avoid combat, and Quatre slashed through OZ suits for a reason. He was on mission. He had instructions. He hated what he was doing and what he needed to do, and knew that it was necessary to achieve a better outcome. He had a responsibility.
