I still remember using some birthday money in my mid teens to buy a beautifully bound compilation of Kipling's works in the bookstore (I knew the Jungle Book from the Disney film but nothing else) and it was one of the best random book buys that I've ever made, he was such a great writer. And then I got into folk music in my 20s and discovered the Peter Bellamy albums that set his poems to music and now I can no longer recite any of those poems like prose anymore, my voice just automatically starts singing them. Nicely done as usual!

Wrong. Don''t rest under an ash tree in the US, they're all dead from the Emerald Ash Bore. Any shade you might get isn't worth the tree landing on you. Good job with the song though :)
Are those all the trees dying with those squiggly patterns under the bark? We have a few of them around and we've been cutting them down. Im from NY, near lake erie.
Besides the obvious signs, [and forgive my limited knowledge base here], how can I tell a tree is sick or starting to get sick/weak? I am unsure of more subtle signs.
@@Charles37400 In upstate New York, most definitely. I'm from northern PA. @MeNYou I'm not the expert, I just know enough to say why they're all dying. I guess you can look for the bug digging into the bark, but the forestry department or Google will tell you what you need to know. And my bad, the bug is called a BORER, not BORE.
