There are tons of fun ways to coin collect that also create collections worth displaying that showcase history and have a sense of completion when you get there. I found a amazing $100 lot last christmas on ebay, it was my christmas present (A.K.A parents paid for it.) It had many (admittedly somewhat cull) european coins from the 1500s to the 1900s including some british east india stuff, a bit of small german and chilean silver, and a bunch of old city state and swiss canton coinage. I even got 2 french feudal coins out of that lot. There was a french revolutionary coin with nice details but some rim damage. All of this and more for $100 :3

    Great ideas. I particularly like the US Type Set. In fact I just posted a video after finally completing my Dansco 7070 type set album. Obviously a bit more expensive than $100, but very fun to collect.

    This was actually a really cool idea for a video! As a collector I can get a tendency to wander around with what I’d like to focus on collecting, so for you to have 8 inexpensive ideas to build different manageable collections this was perfect👌 I’m digging the world coins collection idea the most I think! I’ve got quite a few countries covered just sitting in a little coin purse, but I like yours with the organization and 2x2ing them for a nice presentation. Thanks for the ideas!

    I really enjoy your videos of special day with the world coin bags you go through. I do the same thing but more in the sense of silver coins and I'm always out looking for people to trade with if that's something you're interested in. So you're going to have a couple videos on my world collection with even a unique way I keep of my progress😉👍 thanks for sharing my friend.

    These are great ideas! With silver and gold going up, it’s already going to be difficult to get even four ounces of silver under $100. Three ounces is still doable. You should still be able to get a gram of gold under $100. I think I want to try all of these now!

    This was a great video to get people into collecting coin. Enjoy your content thank you for all you do for the hobby. I started with the 20th century set, moved to a 7070 Type album then to add 4 2x2 pages with 12 openings no Gold but I'm 7 coins from having having the set complete The Draped Bust Dime and Quarter and Half were ball busters. Get my eye on the Dollar, saving for it how. Take care and be safe.

    Regarding Year Sets there is much variety possible. Starting in 2019, you could create an uncirculated year set that includes a bullion ASE and all bought from the US Mint and secondary dealers: 1 uncirculated coin set from the US Mint, 1 uncirculated 2019-W Lincoln cent, 1 roll either P or D from the business strike from one of the American Innovation dollars (or on the secondary market you can get a P and D of each American Innovation dollar), the Native American $1 Coin and Currency set which includes the dollar coin with an enhanced uncirculated finish, and 1 bullion ASE . If you got this from the US Mint and an approved US Mint bullion dealer the cost would be about $100. IT would a good primer on what is an uncirculated finish and how the P and D mintmarks appear (noting there is no P mintmark on the Lincoln cent). The buyer will come away with also a nice sample of uncirculated paper currency (although from 2017) and the Native American dollar Coin and Currency set has should a strong history of reselling at issue price or higher (that will change as I read the US Mint is doubling the price of the next Coin and Currency set they will do - TBD now). Of course the chance of recouping what you spent on the uncirculated coin set is very unlikely, but the ASE provides some bullion value. The roll of AI dollars is a tough call. The premium the US Mint charge for the 25 coin roll is you spend about $1.20 for every $1 coin but I see sellers on ebay able to sell then for about $2.
    You could also focus on one denomination and create the different incarnations of the nickel since its inception - the classic design, the silver war nickel, and the modern iterations - especially since 2004 to present. You could throw in this year a 2020-W as the proofs and reverse proofs are being sold on the secondary market for a very modest cost. The reset you could try to find the best example of the different nickel designs in coin rolls --- maybe buy a nice silver War nickel if you are finding it difficult to find one in a top grade.

    You could probably do an ancient Roman coin type set - as, dupondius, sestertius, dearius, and antoninianus - for around $100, if you put in a bit of effort!

      @@joshberman9318 Frank S Robinson's auctions are where I buy most of my Roman coins. You can often pick up some bargains there. Especially in his "fixed price" offers. eBay is a little iffy, but there are some bargains to be had. Don't buy anything from a seller outside the U.S. or Canada.

And acquired 3 1943 Steel cents..I was watching your video on the error coins for that year..And I found 2 that are doubled but instead of the D and S sticking out on the left side its to the right..And on the S mint mark coin the 9 and 4 are doubled..I took a Picture with my microscope can I send these to you so I can get an estimate on the Value..These coins as in MS condition

    You wanna keep it under 100, avoid estate sales.
    "Oh, what you got there, a nice 1916 D penny? Well, hmm... $15"
    Me: "What?"
    Estate saler"it is 100 years old and in nice shape, $15 is a barigan!"
    Me: walks away.
    This is not one I had but close. I had a few run ins with these guys and they tried to get me to spend $10 on a nicer 1930s buffalo or $10 on a world coin that I could have easily found for $1 elsewhere. Just avoid estate sellers all together unless you know and trust the seller.

    • @neggispringfeild
      @neggispringfeild 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are hit or miss sometimes they ask $10 for error coins they didnt pick up on or $1 for some coin they think is fake but turns out to be an old obsolete coin. I bought a small box of foreign coins at an estate sale for I think $5 and there were multiple foreign silver coins....I do have more luck at garage sales though and even some local thrift stores and pawn shops. For my canadian coin collection I got silver nickels and dimes from the 1800s to early 1900s for $3 each... Very high grade coins on some of them and even in worn condition some sold for higher than I paid total

    • @donaldbothe3518
      @donaldbothe3518 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      neggispringfeild I agree with your sentiment. I love flea markets and they are where I get most of my stuff. I am mainly alienated with the large estate salers. It is a term I coined to describe basically a flea market antique shop that is focused only on the money involved. I am 18 and I am sure that they only tried to scam me due to my age. This tip only applies to them and their ebay counterparts. Otherwise, flea markets are awesome. I don’t call the other sellers estate salers, I just call them individual sellers

    • @neggispringfeild
      @neggispringfeild 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@donaldbothe3518 actual estate sales is usually where sometimes prices just are outrageous lol you kinda need to really pick through what they have and haggle to get any deals. I deal with all different antiques and collectibles and at o e estate sale they wanted tons for junk...then I found an antique bible thats cover was ripped off but with it they sold me for a dollar but even ripped it was worth nearly 100 dollars and I found something inside later that might have value
