I love how seriously you take this topic. For me, an occasional user, I haven’t had an issue with any that I’ve owned. I have a Charge TTI, a Wave, a Swiss Tool, a Gerber Suspension, and a Daicamping (new). They’ve all been aok for my needs. I did have a SOG that I hated. It had stupid covers on the inside tools.
First time I’ve ever been disappointed with a Maxlvledc video, Roxon Flex blows these out of the water, really without Roxon and Nextool this tier list is sorely lacking.
Since you asked about scissors and why not carry a small SAK with them, my main reasoning is that I don't carry a keychain most of the time. I work from home, so I have no reason to carry a keychain in my pocket all the time. I'd rather have scissors in my main tool so I only have to carry one multitool.
@@maxlvledc I guess the KS2 Elite works too as a combo for the Bond since it has scissors and a saw. It's smaller and there is some overlap of tools. The KS2 Elite is a Victorinox Fieldmaster killer IMO.
I hate the SOG power assist. The pliers are fine but I hate having to open that cover to get to the inside tools. So much so I hate that that I just donated the SOG to Habitat and replaced it with a Daicamping clone.
Leatherman Surge, Wave, Charge and Charge tti are the top four of all the competition. Victorinox Swisstool and Spirit X are absolutely top for the size, if you have all day. Camping trip
Seems like there's an error on leathermans website. They have the rebar and knifeless rebar as same exact weight. I feel the rebar should also be in the top tier. 3d philips, saw, locking tools, lowish 6.7 oz weight.
Well I guess a victorinox website is also wrong, because it's 7.7oz. Which makes me like the rebar again for being an oz lighter. Its hard to find lower weight tools with a full solid toolset
The biggest issue i have with the sog power access is the skeletinizing of the handles makes them super weak. Wich is one reason i'm considering the poweraccess assist. BUT... astheticaly, the p.a.a. has these fake scales of sorts to cover the springs for the blades. Witch looks dumb & makes the tool fatter than it should be
@koningklootzak7788 no, it was the wave...then wave Gen 2, then wave Plus. But we all know which version I referring. After all it's the only one for sale atm.
Without Roxon, Bitbury, and Nextool, you don't have a list. No can opener (and not just a bottle opener) or no scissor on any tool is a deal breaker. It would be good to have a tier list of alloys and/or an educational video about the respective alloys' strengths and weaknesses. "All Engineering is a Compromise between three things: Time, Space (or weight) and Money."

MT's without locking blades need their own category: "Non-Permissive".
Monster vid, Dom. Very good.
This was really helpful!
Without the likes of Roxon, Nextool, Diacamping this list is practically useless
Only roxon and nextool would qualify. Daicamping is just a reseller.

@MrDkgio it's not out yet, that wouldn't be fair. But I do think that by 2025 roxon will be part of the top tier.
I bought roxon m3 - it's blades (knife, box cutter) are just dull as f. Otherwise scissors and weight/tools are r OK.
@@aesthetilicius would be unusual, I’ve got three Roxon knives/multitools and all have been razor sharp

Fair fair
This was great 👍
Great video. Looks like a Bond + Roxon S501U for scissors and a saw blade could be a great combo for about $100 combined...
Wow! I never thought of that combo!

This is going to REALLY ruffle some feathers !! LoL
I love my SAK's but rivets on MT's are really dumb !

Hopefully an edited version comes out soon
Will try to get it out by end of next week
I wonder where GOAT tools will fit on this list

Staple is basically top tier, it's toolset however is matched or beaten by the spirit x
@@maxlvledc didn't realize the Spirit x is only 5.75oz. That's amazing.

I buy a Leatherman, it's going to have a locking knife. Period.
Where is wave+?
It's just wave listed, I wasn't considering older models
@@maxlvledc you think wave+ is older than wave?

Who has over two hours to listen to his waffling while the list filla up way too slowly!?
