Maybe that's why she says she deleted Caroline (wich is not really possible, since GLaDOS is based on Caroline), so Chell thinks all of her humanity is gone, so there's nothing more to look behind.
I only recently finished this game (I know, bit late) but the ending made me actually cry. This video just makes me happy and i relive that feeling of "YES I FINISHED THE GAME"
I have first watched this video when I was 9 or 10 and with English not being my home language, this video really helped me understand the song a lot better. Every lyric was brought to life in a really charming and beautiful way and it moved me a lot back then. It’s really one of the cutest and most precious things I can remember from my childhood. Its true that Chell's life will be short, since all the shit she was exposed to at Aperture's probably shortened her expected lifespan considerably (not to mention the injuries).
nerotoxin, asbestos, acid water, and just like Cave Johnson, Chell was expozed to crushed moon rocks in the form of a type of gel that portals can be made on. Chell has at maximum 45 years. Oh, and a long fall, but she had long fall boots. And in alternate realities she died in many ways.
Quite honestly, I have rewatched this animation so much over the years (first time watching must've been like, 2015, 2016?? I dunno), every now and then it just pops up in my feed and I take a nice trip down memory lane. Anyway, I'll be off to replay that masterpiece of a game again, buuuutttt lemme just watch ur animation a few more times ;D

This is still to this day the best portal animation ive ever seen on TH-cam. Its simplistic and minimalist but still wonderfully stylized and nicely animated. I remember watching this when i was a kid and loving it so much back then. The wave of nostalgia when i got this in my home page again was satisfying. Amazing job

So it's almost 2019, only got about 20 days left and this is just a video that I continue to visit. I don't know why really but it's just sticks with me, the song is great obviously. But besides that the amazing talent shown in the animation, along with the mystery of this channel dropping one master piece and leaving just seems wholesome and makes me glad. This video is absolutely amazing. It oozes with love and personality. My favorite bit is when Chell is inching towards Glados and she takes the big step. Stuff like that isn't necessary but it makes the video feel so much more alive. Great work :)

I remember being in like 5th or 6th grade watching this and now I have a full time job with a nice little truck and am about to buy a motorcycle. I remember playing the heck out of Portal 2 with my friends and mainly my Dad. We beat co-op together and made lots of memories, and because of this I remember so much more. After beating everything Portal I got into an obsession with the franchise and this is one of the first things I found of it. Hope you're also doing well these days and hope you continue to do well. What I've always loved about this song is the emotion it brings. It truly feels likes saying farewell to someone important you've known for your whole life, you can almost feel even though how unwilling GLaDOS is to let Chell go, she still has to do it for Chell's own good. Till this day I still don't know if the Chell Johnson theory (Chell being the daughter of Cave and Caroline) is correct but I would like to believe it's canon.
As much as we would want to believe I don't think so, from the little we know about Cave Johnson he was a bonehead I don't think he would be very interested in having children. I'm pretty sure a random scientist at Aperture probably adopted Chell.
I find far more fulfillment in the idea that GLaDOS (or, at least, caroline) fell in love with Chell over time. Makes far more sense to me, given the most substantial evidence for Chell being her child is Cara Mia Addio, which is very easy to interpret in a more romantic light when you remember that while 'bonita' means 'little girl'... it's also very frequently used as a romantic term, in the same vein as 'babe' or 'baby' in English. Also, GLaDOS growing to love someone but being forced to let her go because it's mutually harmful for both parties and she loves Chell too much to subject her to it? Quite literally, GLaDOS loved Chell, so she let her go. Far more emotional investing for me than "GLaDOS only cared because she remembered Chell was her daughter." Feels kinda hollow for me.

Well my story might not be as cool or sad or good as others but I’m giving it a shot anyways I woke up one Christmas morning, I had been wishing for portal after watching a bunch of videos and eventually falling in love with it despite not even being able to finish the game due to me being a young kid. I finally got it “Portal 2” I had finished a number of puzzles til I realized my sister had wanted to play and eventually I did the split screen levels with her getting stuck on a level again... that was one of the first popular and well made games I had played yet as a kid

The absolute dedication to make such a remarkable hand drawn animation regarding a song from the portal 2. Soundtrack, let alone the one at the end credits, is absolutely amazing. I remember watching this years back. Back when I would stay up all night playing portal 2 coop with friends and then the campaign next morning with my brother. Those were the days.

Seeing this vid made me tear up a bit. It's so sweet and very adorable but also somewhat sad. I'd gotten around to both portal games a month or two ago and was blown away. I could only imagine what it felt like to play this day, week or year one when it first came out. They still hold up and bring us joy to this day. That line reminds me of a toxic friend I had. I saw her getting bullied and I wanted to help. So I did. She said without me she would be depressed. Took me a year to figure out that that was a lie.
Its true that Chell's life will be short, since all the shit she was exposed to at Aperture's probably shortened her expected lifespan considerably (not to mention the injuries).

This is still to this day the best portal animation ive ever seen on TH-cam. Its simplistic and minimalist but still wonderfully stylized and nicely animated. So it's almost 2019, only got about 20 days left and this is just a video that I continue to visit. I don't know why really but it's just sticks with me, the song is great obviously. But besides that the amazing talent shown in the animation, along with the mystery of this channel dropping one master piece and leaving just seems wholesome and makes me glad. I remember being in like 5th or 6th grade watching this and now I have a full time job with a nice little truck and am about to buy a motorcycle. I remember playing the heck out of Portal 2 with my friends and mainly my Dad. We beat co-op together and made lots of memories, and because of this I remember so much more. After beating everything Portal I got into an obsession with the franchise and this is one of the first things I found of it. Hope you're also doing well these days and hope you continue to do well. Love you random youtuber who made my childhood just that little bit better.

I love the animation so much like this song is one of my general favorite songs ever and your art style is everything
What I've always loved about this song is the emotion it brings. It truly feels likes saying farewell to someone important you've known for your whole life, you can almost feel even though how unwilling GLaDOS is to let Chell go, she still has to do it for Chell's own good. Till this day I still don't know if the Chell Johnson theory (Chell being the daughter of Cave and Caroline) is correct but I would like to believe it's canon.
As much as we would want to believe I don't think so, from the little we know about Cave Johnson he was a bonehead I don't think he would be very interested in having children. I'm pretty sure a random scientist at Aperture probably adopted Chell.

I find far more fulfillment in the idea that GLaDOS (or, at least, caroline) fell in love with Chell over time. Makes far more sense to me, given the most substantial evidence for Chell being her child is Cara Mia Addio, which is very easy to interpret in a more romantic light when you remember that while 'bonita' means 'little girl'... it's also very frequently used as a romantic term, in the same vein as 'babe' or 'baby' in English.
Also, GLaDOS growing to love someone but being forced to let her go because it's mutually harmful for both parties and she loves Chell too much to subject her to it? Quite literally, GLaDOS loved Chell, so she let her go.
Far more emotional investing for me than "GLaDOS only cared because she remembered Chell was her daughter." Feels kinda hollow for me.

Well my story might not be as cool or sad or good as others but I’m giving it a shot anyways
I woke up one Christmas morning, I had been wishing for portal after watching a bunch of videos and eventually falling in love with it despite not even being able to finish the game due to me being a young kid. I finally got it “Portal 2” I had finished a number of puzzles til I realized my sister had wanted to play and eventually I did the split screen levels with her getting stuck on a level again... that was one of the first popular and well made games I had played yet as a kid

The absolute dedication to make such a remarkable hand drawn animation regarding a song from the portal 2. Soundtrack, let alone the one at the end credits, is absolutely amazing. I remember watching this years back. Back when I would stay up all night playing portal 2 coop with friends and then the campaign next morning with my brother. Those were the days.

Seeing this vid made me tear up a bit. It's so sweet and very adorable but also somewhat sad. I'd gotten around to both portal games a month or two ago and was blown away. I could only imagine what it felt like to play this day, week or year one when it first came out. They still hold up and bring us joy to this day.
