Roberto Duran! That's who Mayweather meant. Not Sanchez. No disrespect about Sanchez, he was a young prodigy. But Dran he was not. Maybe he could have been, but his life was cut short. Duran I think is the greatest lightweight of all time. And that's saying something because of it's rich history. One of boxing's "original" divisions. 62-1 record before moving to welterweight. Then just a few fights in he beats the pound for pound number one. That's after moving up to 147 from 135. There was no 140 then. Today it'd have been considered moving up two divisions instead of one.
