This song I've used from IQ's 'Forever Live 1993' album, same as the last IQ track I tried. After doing a lot of shows on the prog rock circuit, I came across these guys in 2006 at a festival in Chippenham, and have crossed paths with them throughout the last 15 years.
This one was a longer project and took a little longer as I am now temporarily a key worker. Including all of the parcan flashes that I would notmally do ad-hoc, the cuelist cam eto over 160 cues not including part-cues.
I tried to empulate a couple of the followspot movements an dkeep some elements of the original show (see • IQ-The Enemy Smacks "L... for context as there are some theatrical elements involved as well.) I wanted to try and keep the old parcan 'flash and trash' look as well while still having an all intelligent rig.
Thought I would brush up on my programming using MA2 PC. I've recently gotten more used to owning an Onyx desk, but I thought it would be worth keeping things going.
I doubt that I will ever get to the stage that I would get to design and build a rig of this size, so I thought I would make a rig idea that I've had in my head since I was at school inspired by shows I saw videos of when I was growing up (mostly mid 80s and early 90s Genesis and Phil Collins concerts with old Varilites).
Shout out to Lawrence Dyer, their lighting guy as I wanted to keep some original elements of their stage show. Hope to catch you again soon either at PLASA or at a show.
Hope you enjoy. :)
