This is awesome. It's the light show mechanics for the 1992 I can't dance tour, but his voice sounded strange because it sounded too good to be 1992. Then I read the description. Lol. I Believe his voice was best from Duke to the mama tour. After that it kind of started to fade a little bit, as is evident in late 1986 when he was no longer able to do apocalypse in 9/8 - they had to switch to afterglow. Nobody lives forever I guess. 🥴
brill!!!,i hope when genesis do an avatar show like ABBA and i hope they will🤞,they will take this light show into consideration, amazing vocals and sound.genesis forever
Würde gerne mal sehen was du aus Pink Floyds Sorrow so machen würdest.
I really enjoy your videos of ideas. I've seen Genesis on every USA tour since 'Abacab' in 1981, their lightshows and their unique relationship with Vari-Lite. You do good work!
Agree, but they were playing such vast stadiums, they had to rely more on video etc. I think the pioneering Vari*Lite tours of 82, 84, and 86/87, will never be done to that scale again
You sound just like me, I was one of the first people to have a moving mirror light show in the Chicago area, late 80s. I was also the drummer in a Genesis tribute, Pink Floyd tribute band. And then when the band broke up I took the sound and lighting rig that I had put together for the band, and became Lasersound Sound and lighting company. I worked with many of the top tribute bands in the Chicago area for years. It all started from seeing Genesis in 1981 in Chicago, and being blown away by the band and the Vari Lites, well at least the lighting part. I have played drums since I was 6 years old in the 60s, and then I started playing drums proffessionally in the late 70s. I was always interested in learning live sound since seeing Rush in 1978, and then Genesis became my love in the 80s, course my fav stuff is the really old stuff, but they kept me going with their shows. I also see that you are doing the lights for los endos from the Invisible touch tour, the greatest lighting rig ever assembled in my opinion, and yes I wish they would dump the video screens and go back to that spaceship light rig they had in 1986. I saw them play all 5 nights in Chicago that year, still a record for the Rosemont Horizon(Allstate Arena now), no other show ever did 5 nights there.
Actually, it was six nights. I was at the Sixth night. My first concert. Rumour had it that they were considering adding a SEVENTH show, but they had an pit stop live interview in LA before going to Oakland. I remember hearing that while they were playing in Chicago, Mike heard the tragic news about his father's passing (that inspired him to write The Living Years for the Mechanics). They decided to carry on and do the show, at Mike's insistence.
This is probably my favorite one. I think you get it that there should always be something going on with the lights, not just changing color now and then. Boring! Long, slow sweeps & random aim is the best. Reference "home by the sea" live 1986.
Great job. What do you think of the Last Domino light-show? Found it awfully busy, out of synch, like a man who has too much tools in his hands and not able to suit the music. Found the big screens perturbing and not well used. Too much effects kill the effect. They never had done better than between 81 and 87 in y opinion.
It looks like they're being a bit more ambitious with looks and automation rather than just physical size and shape this time. Curious if they'll include some of the older looks or only go for their unique ones. The designer has been working with Peter Gabriel since the 80s and with Phil since the mid 90s (Both Sides tour as far as I know).
@@anthrolightproductions I like it so much more than the 2007 tour rig. I saw them three times on that tour Cleveland, Detroit, and Chicago night 1. I liked the smaller arena tour set up they used it reminded me more of older shows than the giant sombrero looking thing of the stadium set up.
Just wonderful! Amazing! Top Notch!

Genesis owns Vari-lights trademark....the stage of their last tour is gorgeous

I love this. This is the sort of light system they should go back too. The last couple of tours I didn't enjoy the lights

Oh my God👀 That great Artwork ever seen related to that greatest Art-Rock-Band ever👍👍👍
Cant imagine hard that production it was
Incredible!!!
Good job man
More Genesis shows, please! 🙏😅

We know what their tour rig looks like now. Any thoughts?
